  1. I replaced my crank seal with out splitting the case. I have done that with my old setup and my new setup.
  2. I am leaving on a trip in 2 weeks and I need a pair of 10 inch rear rims.
  3. with mine I had to order the o-rings right from Trinity. It was like $25 for the rings. Oh and they didn't fit from the cylinders to the head. I ended up cutting a small section out and dabbing some rtv where they meet. No problems yet.
  4. sounds like you are running out of fuel. I would take it on a high speed burn then check the plugs. white= bad Brown= good black= bad
  5. IMO it sounds like the carbs need a good cleaning. If your pilot jets are even the slightest bit plugged it will give you a hard start. Did this guy you bought the shee off of do a jet change for the mods? If not you could be running too lean. You should notice some smoke when you start it up. but if there is none than I would check that out. You could also drain your tank and pull the petcock out and check the filters on that to make sure they are not plugged.
  6. rip it down with the impact. setting 4 but dont go overkill.
  7. wow so you are telling me that my spacer plate for my stroker is not for my port timing??? There is no way to put the stroker spacer plate between the head and jug. way different bolt pattern. And it sounds like a crank seal went bad.
  8. well if you get a stone in there it could damage your crank trigger or worse take out your stator.
  9. Does it act like the T.O.R.S.'s is activated? even though it has been removed from the bike it is still in the CDI.
  10. swap the carb tops side to side. don't pull just the slide. move the cap and all.
  11. Ok now to total up your bill you owe --------------------------- a day of riding. Now go out there and do it. + tax One beer too
  12. how far are the sync adjustments turned out. do you have the slides in the right carbs? make sure the slides are all the way down. if not that will give you too much slack
  13. I know this sounds dumb but by any chance did you hook your coolant overflow to the side case vent? I was dumb enough to do that and the same thing happened.
  14. You should have raised the needles instead of lower. you leaned it out when you did that. plus I would also step up on the jet size. With only a few mods I was running 370's and it was ripping hard. I think your lack of smoke is lack of fuel. you probably have a lean pop at the top end. If that happens you could damage your engine quickly. Have you noticed it running hot?
  15. there should be a rubber plug in that hole. If it is the one near the top of the case.
  16. Have you adjusted the caps to sync the carbs? Do you have the right caps on the carbs?
  17. Good choice. It would suck to have some type of leak (being oil or vacuum) to occur while your out on a trail.
  18. So I was out this past weekend just having a good time. I am going down this road (mixed traffic all legal) following a 07 YFZ450 when I said screw this and I down shifted and held it wide open. I fly by the 450 almost to the top of 5th gear. I was hauling ass! When all the sudden my back end starts sliding back and forth like I am in a panic stop. When I realized that my back tires weren't moving. So I pull the clutch and coast off to the side and figured I toasted my engine. I flip the kick starter out and stand on it and it didn't budge... Now I though I definitely blew it up. So as I sit off the side of the road waiting for my brother to return with the truck I have my helmet off and a bottle of water siting on the seat in front of me. I told myself "what the hell" I tried to kick it again. to my surprise it turned over... So I kicked it over a few more times and it started up. so I ended up taking off. I made it back to camp just before my brother got the trailer unhooked. I pulled the plugs and they looked fine. I looked down the spark plug holes and I could still read the numbers on the pistons. No sign of detonation. I am stumped on why it locked up... So to be safe I jetted the carbs up to 400 to keep it cooler and had no problems after that. I know that the 400 are too big because it boggs some but has good topend. Has anyone else ever experienced this? Sorry for the Novel Thanks Jeremy
  19. how's the color on the plugs? it sounds like you are running a little lean. Also how is the fuel flow out of the petcock? did you clean the jets out when you had the carbs apart?
  20. If it is coming from the crankcase to the tranny case there will be fuel odor in the tranny oil. there should be no reason for the trans case to build pressure. With the bike idling take out the dipstick and see if it is "puffing" or smoking out of the hole. that will help determine if the case is leaking pressure.
  21. timing plates are simple to install. you can get a pro design, ricky stator and I am sure there are more out there. When you order the adj timing plate order a flywheel puller. you will need it.
  22. Don't go too tight on your pressure plate. you don't want to weld the ball to the push rod. when you look at the top of the case where the clutch lever is there will be a triangle. When the clutch is fully disengaged (clutch pulled) the arrow will line up with the lever. The kick starter spring fits in a "c" shaped notch to the right of where the start shaft goes into the case.
  23. I'd check your reeds out. that can cause fuel to dump in the cylinder and can cause a backfire. It is also cheaper than rebuilding the top end.
  24. http://cascadeinnovations.net/ go to Banshee products and then go to chain sliders.
  25. Have you unplugged the T.O.R.S. on your machine??? (the little black box next to the coil) If one of the carb switches gets stuck it will cancel spark. Just a thought...
