  1. Anyone ever cut a hole in the crankcase cover on the clutch side behind the inspection cover? I know you can buy a case that already has it machined out and you can get the transparent clutch covers, but just wondering if anyone has done it to the factory cover because its solid aluminum behind the smaller cover.
  2. Ok replacing the clutch this week: How long do the friction plates need to soak in oil before they get put in?
  3. No it is stored on all 4 wheels. And when I ride it the oil only comes out if its hot. And its not alot just enough to pour out all over the pipes and when I park it it'll leave a puddle about the 3 inches in diameter on the ground. but Ive run it really hot before and Ive never had this problem up until the other weekend
  4. Took the shee out the other day and it's spilling oil out of the vent line that comes out of the crank case and runs up by the gas tank. At first I thought it was leveling itself out but its keeps pouring out. What would cause this?
  5. I had this same problem not too long ago. Definately check the carbs before splitting the case. On mine it ended up being the throttle slides not matching. One side was sitting up higher than the other. You can adjust it with the adjustment on the throttle cable where they go into the top of the carbs.
  6. Problem fixed. The bearing in the water pump seized up causing the impeller not to turn. Thanks for all the advice guys.
  7. my jugs are bored 60 over and I am running the stock carbs with 380 main jets and the air/fuel mixture is perfect. The motor is running perfect in general but I am overheating in 15 minutes and its only 60 degrees out. I have the Toomey oversized radiator and the billet impellar and I am running engine ice in it. I also have a cool head in it with 20cc domes and the compression is good. I took it out for 15-20 minutes today and the antifreeze was boiling and averflowing all over the place. Any suggestions on what is happening here? Any help would be greaty appreciated P.S. I justed flushed out the coolant system yesterday to get the old antifreeze out before I put in the engine ice. sprayed a hose down the radiator and the water pump and water was flowing out the other ends fine. Thanks Nate
  8. Tranny fluid is good. The choke tube is good I checked it the other day. My guess is it has to be a crank seal. Thanks for the help guys
  9. Sorry to get off the subject of your quad, and this may seem like a dumb question, but how do you adjust the slides in the carbs? Mine is doing the same thing one side isnt running the same as the other and I noticed @ idle one of the slides is sitting lower than the other.
  10. Hey everyone, Im new to the forumns and have a question regarding my Banshee not running right. Couple details on the motor: stock crank, cylinders are bored .060 over, it has Boysen reeds w/ reed spacers, and twin 34 mil carbs with 380 jets in them. When its running the right side cylinder is not puting off near as much smoke as the other side. I checked the carbs, reeds, and everything in the top end for that matter and everything seems to be fine. The only other thing I can think of is a bad crank seal. Does anyone have any other suggestions or ideas about what else might be wrong with it. Thanks. Also when riding I can tell that the right side it missing fire and that it is running leaner than the left.
