  1. sounds like your pilot jets might be plugged up. pull the jets and run a small wire through them and make sure they are clean. When my bike wouldn't idle it was because of the pilots. Hope this helps. Good luck.
  2. A 6 sided chain would kill a set of bolt cutters. I have had to cut the locks off trailers for guys because they lost their keys in less than a week. but the safest thing would be take all the tires off. who wants to carry a bike off? But that chain sounds badass.
  3. wow that sucks. I know someone that works for Oakland County Sherrifs dept in Mi but Bellville is in a different Co. I could of had him call and scare him.
  4. damn that sucks. I'd try to take it back.
  5. I have had to rebuild motorcycle calipers because of them not releasing. Basically pop the caliper piston out, clean the piston, remove the piston seal and clean the seal, and hone the cylinder.
  6. what did you setup your pickup gap at? it should be at .020 in or .5mm thats all I can think of at the moment
  7. I concur. I set mine at .020 in which is .5 mm no problems yet (knock on wood)...
  8. can you shift through the gears with the engine off? if no you could have a bent shift fork, or damaged shift "dog" or barrel. is the fluid sparkley like gears or dull like clutch material? all banshees have a problem finding neutral.
  9. thumb throttle and cables...
  10. that will be fine. but I would have pulled the plugs on the side of the cylinders out to drain the cylinders. Do you still have the TORS unit on it?
  11. I would start off with cleaning the carbs out. especially the main and pilot jets. than I would readjust the carbs. make sure they are synced. and make sure the idle screws are adjusted the same.
  12. running rich will just hurt your performance. and fuel economy. and maybe your plugs. I would rather run rich than lean and burn out a piston.
  13. if you take your radiator cap off and start it up you should see the coolant circulate.
  14. does it rev up? did you rejet after the stroker? Is it a stock clutch? If it revs up and the tires arent breaking free than you have a clutch problem. did you adjust the clutch according to the arrow on the case?
  15. the cool head is worth the money. it has more coolant flow through the head. Made of aluminum which transfers heat quicker. interchangeable domes for when you do want more power. I bought a Trinity but wish I would have bought a Pro Design or a NOSS.
  16. I blew a CDI for no apparent reason. letting it idle and after 1 min it died. I would borrow one from a friend to see if that would get it started. before you go ordering parts. just a suggestion.
  17. did you up your jets after advancing the timing? The leaner the bike is the hotter it runs. Check your plugs for color. When you pull the head off check the head for with a straight edge to make sure it's not warped. When I replaced my impeller I also replaced the gear. cheap insurance while riding. Compare the freezing point of engine ice to your low temps. If it won't freeze in your area I would recommend running it.
  18. mine stripped out so I just ended up running a 5/8ths tap in the holes and installed grade 8 bolts. but for your problem I would open the hole up and retrieve the part broken off and weld in some solid round stock then drill and tap it.
  19. the tube between the carbs is a fuel en richening circuit. you need that tube. does it sound like a rev limiter at low rpm's aprox 2500??? or when you open it WOT does it make a louder bogging sound.... kinda like exhaust under water????
  20. it sounds like the gear not retracting correctly. I'd check to make sure the spring is on right. if not you could cause damage to the gears and not to mention your foot, knee or even you hip.
  21. sounds like the tors to me. did you unplug all the tors wire? there is a box next to the coil that you have to unplug. and there is a clutch and throttle switch.
  22. the only ones that are different are the 87-89. I have never had a problem and I have replaced my rears twice. is there an extra shim that is on the pad you can take off? is the piston flush with the caliper?
  23. I'm looking for a thumb throttle and cables with out tors.
  24. I started twitching from withdrawals. Like being sober for a few day. Now it is going to be ok...
