  1. im new to all this...............so why is a boost bottle no good?
  2. havent tried filling it back up yet, but i went down and they told me to try Spectral 10w30 clucth saver. so i bought that and i will try that one. i dont understand why it made the noise pushing it in nuetral. and when the fluid is out it doesnt make the noise. when it did that i rulled out the possibility of the hard parts being bad. so the onyl thing left is the clutch making the noise. ill try it this afternoon and see what happens and keep it posted. and like i said it hasnt been a neglected machine. the shee looks mint for a 98 and i try to keep it that way. im a stickler on maintenence if you know what i mean
  3. well first off im not on here much but i figure someone could help me out here the story i have a 98 banshee, i had a shift lever seal leaking so i went down to the stealer and ordered a new seal, i figured since im taking the seal out i will change the oil. (which wasnt neglected in the first place) shifted strong, no noises what so ever. when i drained the oil it looked pretty clean no metal coming out or nothing. i asked the dealer what kind of oil goes in it to be on the safe side. he sold me (this is what is on the bottle) HP4 Hi-performance 4-stroke motorcycle oil SAE 10w-40 SJ, Synthetic/Petroleum Blend Without Moly. he said it took 1.6 qts so that what i put in it. i started it and let it warm up (like normal) and took off down the road. i made it probably 1/2 mile down the road and the clucth side started whining like a SOB. i shut it off and pushed it back home. as i was pushing it in neutral it still made the noise. being suspicious about the oil i drained all back out and then puched it down the driveway without oil in it........the noise went away. so my question is, Is that the right oil that goes in it? i called up the stealer and talked to the service manager and he said that it might be possible that the guy i bought the shee from has put a heavier oil in it like 80-90. i looked up what oil goes in it and it says SAE 10w30. so my other question is if the guy before me put 80-90 in it wouldnt that mean there is a problem? or should i put 80-90 in it and see it if gets rid of the noise? thanks for answering my questions brent
  4. where do you get the sliders? and what do you do about the one on the swingarm bolt?
  5. where the swingarm bolts to the frame on the side with the chain. there is a plastice part that the chain rides on that is really really loose. i can move the plastice part back and forth. the bearing has no play in it. should i worry about it, and what woudl i need to fix the amount of play it has. its pretty much like its not attached it just moves around. and also how tight should the chain be one the quad. i know it not supertight but how much slack should there be?
  6. yes it connected and reeds are in good shape. ive already taken them out and checked them. i supposes ill try to make them equal lengths. how hard is it to get both carb adjusted the same? how can you tell if they are even out of adjustment?
  7. what do you do lengthen to one on the right since that one is shorter or make 2 new line identical length and route them in someway? how did you route them? since i didnt put much fuel in it so that could be the problem. ill have to run to the station and get me some more fuel and see how that is i suppose. ill do that tommorow
  8. whats the easiest way to tune these dual carbs to balance each other.
  9. i have 98 banshee mostly stock other than pipes. well anyways the tors is unplugged. the quad starts up fine but if you run down the road not under full throttle in any gear the right side seems to cut out. if you give it WOT then the right side starts working? also last year before it went into storage i was out riding one night and one cylinder completely dropped out. dont remember which one. it wouldnt fire at all. i let it sit for a little while and then it worked fine and then did it again. so i let it sit and it was fine and hasnt done it since.compression is good. it starts up right away. it just doenst seem to fir one the right cylinder until you stuff it?
