  1. Well there is a registration process in AZ right now. But its a one time registration and Title. You get an RV plate (no sticker) and an AZ title. That proves ownership. But as you stated it will hopefully cut down on the stolen vehicles or at least help recover those that are stolen. I still maintain that the vast majority will not get/keep their bikes/quads registered.
  2. Yes this is all horseshit. You have to pay to register initially, now yo have to pay yearly. On top of all that the state trust land permit went up from like 30 bucks for a family one year pass, to like 75 for a family. so now i have to register 7 vehicles every year.....TOTAL BS! I cant wait to see what the cost is gonna be. An my CRF450R will never have a plate attached to it. Guess that will be my Track/Glamis bike. I would venture a guess that only about 20-30% of people will comply with this new law, and they will ticket heavily at all the local spots which are all state trust land.
  3. I have heard different stories from the law enforcement at glamis. One time i was told that an out of state registration was all that was needed, but then i was told that we had to have the Cali OHV sticker regardless of other registration. That being said i have never been stopped to look for registration or OHV stickers. They do however look for the camping pass, couple of my buddies got hit up for that and the fine was $125 i think. check out this link. If you have registration you are good! I don't run a plate on my 450R, so i guess i will keep buying the pass for it. http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/
  4. leaving Tucson around 4pm thursday afternoon.
  5. I wont have my shee, but we should be close by out in wash four. I have a CRF450R with the numbers 482 on it. If you spot me stop in and say hi! White Silverado 2500 w/ white fleetwood Redline Hauler AZ plates! Cant wait for the dunes, im frothing from the mouth!
  6. I will be there, Thursday thru Sunday! Cant wait to get back to the dunes. Camp in wash 5 usually, all the way down next to the dunes. couple quads, and a bunch of bikes.
  7. That awesome guys. Im 28 and between the ages of 24-27 i had gained about 50 lbs. I was about 195 and not doing so good considering that im in the military (USAF) Anyway, i deployed for 120 days to Afghanistan and in that 4 months i dropped 45 lbs. I tell ya it was NOT easy. I was running 7 miles a night 6 nights a week on the treadmill and weight training. The other big step was modifying my eating habits. I used to drink a couple Mt. Dews a day and never paid attention to anything i ate. Now i drink water and iced/green teas and NEVER eat until im full. I have kept the 45 lbs off, and maintained that for over a year now! Also, i noticed while riding everything was so much easier to do, and i didnt tire nearly as quickly. I also quit smoking and that made a huge difference in stamina as well. Keep up the good work guys. Its better for you in every way to keep a healthy lifestyle!
  8. I also run an inline fuel filter. I read some post a while back saying they restrict the flow just enough to allow the bowls to run dry.
  9. Oh, yeah i know it was fat. But i don't re jet from running in glamis at 50 degrees, to running at 90 degrees. I also run it in Tucson at 3,000 feet with the same jetting. All i know is it runs good, so i wasn't going to start leaning it out.
  10. Did a few plug chops after the rebuild. Didn't feel comfortable with anything less than the 380s. was running 360s before the last rebuild, but was also running banshee domes with blaster pistons, so they were like a 24cc dome with the wrong squish pattern.
  11. yeah, im still thinking that might have been the case since it died at WOT in 6th. We were racing probably 1/8mile or so, long enough to be running in 6th for a few seconds. we were running back to back, so it might have been that we reset a little quicker that time, and the bowls were not completely filled back up? All i know is that for the 20 or so runs i took that 350PV 250R every time. Launched harder off the line, and held him the entire run.
  12. yeah, looked at the carbs, 380 mains have a huge hole, i dont think a piece of sand would stop anything with those. I got the cases seperated. There was some oil in the right side crank case, but im not entirely sure if it was in there to start with, or after i flipped the engine over to take the lower case nuts off. I hate not knowing where the leak is at. I guess when i put it back together i will make a leakdown tester for myself, and make sure everything is good before i run it. Also found that the circlip for the idler gear had broken/fallen off and got eaten by the trans.....guess they are not lying when they tell you to replace, not reuse them
  13. Well, last trip of the year to the dunes and the shee was running great! Whooped a 350LRD Honda 250R that dynoed at 72HP running on VP112. Anyway, we did about 20 passes on the flats. On the last run the shee died on me in 6th pinned. Didn't lock up, just quit running. Started right back up and thought i had just run out of gas. Anyway, got back to camp (few hundred feet) and pulled the plug.....this is what i found. So i was pretty much done for the weekend with the shee anyway, Still had my CRF450 to ride. Get home and put her away. This morning i decided to see what was going on. So i tore her down. very burned crown, lookin pretty ugly. Left side, looks fine. Piston looks perfect, no scoring, no nothing. Right side, has some minor scoring on the piston, and cyl wall. Domes look fine, nothing wrong with them. So what do you think happend? Is it Detonation? Why on only one cylinder? My compression was around 125 at 3,000feet ASL. I think my compression numbers are low because of the port work. Fresh top end with 19cc blaster domes with a .060 squish. I looked at all my carb boots. Tugged on them while spraying with carb cleaner to see if i had a leak there. Nothing, no change in RPM at all. Plugs up untill this trip were perfect. Little bit fat on the mains (380s) and she had a tiny bog on the needle, checked with the choke pulled and it got worse, so im pretty sure i was safe on the needle. You can tell by the other plug that it wasnt running lean. This was about the 4th trip on this rebuild. all seals got changed last rebuild. Im possibly thinking that im sucking some gear oil into the crank case possibly (lookin at the black shit on the burned up plug) So, whats goin on? I have the thing tore down anyway, gonna split the cases, and see if there are any tell tale signs of a breech between the trans and crank case.
  14. I raced my buddies 250R last weekend at glamis. This 250R, is a Lonestar framed, 350cc Power Valved LRD big bore. Got a dyno sheet on it running 72HP on VP 112. My banshee is a Long rod 370, dyna ignition, ported, 19cc domes (pump gas) and i took him every race. He has me in the weight dept. by about 40 lbs, but his bike is lighter...... So a damn stock stroke banshee setup right will run right with these damn big bores.....
