  1. this is probably pretty similar to the amount of smoke it puts out. but in the vid, as his warms up, the smoke lightens up...mine does not. (this is not my banshee, just a video i found of similar smoke amount)
  2. It was 67 degrees today, that's not really cold at all. I get you though... Its not a freight train, but its more than a usual for a normal banshee. The smoke is a little heavier on the right side...so maybe it is the compression. but for some reason I remember hearing increased smoking starts a little under 100psi.....
  3. I know, Ive been telling myself to buy a set of pipes but all my play money has been going into my CBR
  4. air filter is clean, its always been a little on the smokey side regardless of the age of gas. I ran 4 tanks of gas through it last winter, then topped if off for summer storage. I haven't changed the jetting on it.
  5. thats what I thought. 110 and 115 is too high for exessive smoke. I thought that started around 90? suggestions on smoke?
  6. what up peeps, been a while since I posted. Broke the banshee out today....changed the oil, fired it up. Smoking a little more than I like. I bought it last year, and only put about 20 hours on it. It has always seemed to smoke a little bit more than I thought it should have. Both plugs look good. Not much oil in the pipes. Compression checked tonight 115 left and 110 right. (im at sea level...so cal) ----- using Craftsman Compression Test Kit model# 47089 ----- That's about what a 2001 should be at...right? Its fully stock. I mix 32:1, and am thinking of going 40:1 suggestions?
  7. Lookin for anyone who wants to hit El Mirage Tomorrow.
  8. I played with it a little bit, I didnt remove the cover, but I have all gears, it seems as though it "skips" gears when shifting. The clutch doesnt slip or anything. My fiances cousin is coming over to look at it tomorrow, but I wanted to get familiarized with certain errors before he comes over.
  9. I purchased a 2001 banshee, all stock. Checked everything out, test drove...everything checked out good. I noticed Neutral was a bit hard to find, but easier when it was shut off. I havent had a chance to ride it good since I purchased it. Mainly a couple putts around the backyard. I jumped on it tonight and noticed I only had 1st and 2nd gear. More smoke than usual, there is a slight knock on tranny side, and the oil is a little low (light grey in color) Im a novice when it comes to repair, espically since this is my first banshee What should I look for? I searched the forum and found things similar but nothing the same as what Im experiencing.
  10. Whats up everyone. New to the forum. I just purchased a 2001 Banshee. I havent been riding in about 10-15 years, and wanted to see if anyone could give me tips on how I can really make sure I take good care of my bad boy. Any tips, or things I should keep an eye out for? Any bit of info will be appriciated. Thanks.
