  1. TORS just creates problems. I took it all off my bike and even removed all the wires in the harness.
  2. yep it is a RS flywheel. I got the package deal. The 200w stator, adj plate and flywheel. here is the flywheel...
  3. the double banjo is to help disperse the fluid more evenly. with the center ridge on the double blot it will block the fluid. I have seen that banjo bolt used on honda motorcycles. Good Luck
  4. F.A.S.T. check out this site. you get great parts with even better service.
  5. the av gas will work you just have to re jet because the fuel is oxygenated. What size jet are you running? it sounds like you are running it lean. Detonation and running hot are a sign of a lean condition.
  6. sounds like your spark plug boots. they have resistors in them. It is a cheap fix. they are like 5-8 bucks each. Click me for example
  7. My RS has been going great for 5 years now. the only prob was the flywheel. I sheered 2 rivets off.
  8. Nope get rid of it.
  9. Impact driver (the type you hit with a hammer) I have had to use mine a few times. The steel bolts in an aluminum case will cause them to corrode.
  10. there are companys out there that make a removable cover just for the clutch. I have one that is a stock modified.
  11. LMAO Just go to your local hardware store of auto parts store and get a tube of blue loctite. it is a thread locking compound. That will help your bolts from working loose. Nothing wrong with the plastics it is the fasteners...
  12. does the fuel flow out of the petcock? does it make a difference if it is on reserve or not. Is the fuel on? Is there gas in the tank? There are two filters on the petcock in the tank. you might have to remove the petcock and clean the filters.
  13. try a set of needle nose vise grips if that doesnt work than you will have to take a dremel tool and cut a slot and use a flat blade screwdriver.
  14. you are missing a rubber boot on the one carb for the throttle cable. Oh yah get rid of that boost bottle.
  15. there is 3 thing an engine needs in order to run. Fuel, compression and spark. I'd start off with new plugs. If that does nothing than run a compression test. If that is good (no variance above 10%) than check your fuel system out.
  16. Yep you want to make sure the vent is clear. If the Trans case isn't vented it will cause your seals to fail.
  17. There is a little black box next to the coil. That is the TORS controller. make sure that is unplugged. If you can not unplug it "cut it". Than shrink wrap the wires and make sure none of them connect with another.
  18. Bandaids don't last. You have to split the case to make sure all the shavings are out. Splitting the case is not hard but most are afraid because it sounds hard. Take your time. Good luck
  19. if you keep running the fuel you stated than 5-7 degrees is good. But also keep an eye on your plugs.
  20. I have heard nothing but bad things about the cdi boxes with variable timing. Definitely swap back to the stock and set your timing to 5 degrees and make sure your pick up has a 0.020 in or 0.5mm gap. Did you reuse your old spark plug boots?
  21. I use a hard bristle brush to clean it off the lube the chain. Worked for 5 years on one chain.
  22. to replace the forks you need to split the case. I have experienced that when you bend a shift fork you damage the drum.
  23. the backfire is most likely a lean pop. How do your plugs compare? if one is light and one dark than you have an air leak. If they both are light colored than you have a jetting problem. Good luck.
