  1. If your into trail or dune riding get the toomeys, if your into drag get the cpis.
  2. I thought for the price I would not have to worry about leaks but one leaks a lot of exhaust.
  3. Thanks, I'll try that. Now I just need to measure my pipes and cut the remaining old gasket out.
  4. I would do that but the only place local that does dyno is motorcycle only, one of those harlie type of shops.
  5. Go ahead and buy a couple of different sizes and see what you like best.
  6. You wont be sorry with t5's especially if you decide to port yours later on, I love my t5's and would never trade them unless I decided to go drag only.
  7. I went and run about 5 gallons of gas through it on sunday and that is when it was hard starting and bottom end was real rough, mid range was off but would run decent and top end was great. I checked my plugs after my my ride and my plugs showed lean condition.
  8. I have been running stock pistons with toomey t5's, boyesen reeds, ported cages, dual k&n pods at sea level for a couple of years with my bike running perfect. My jetting was 280 mains, 30 pilots, needle clip next to the last bottom groove. With my new vito's super stock .20 over pistons and tdr reeds I am running lean. I had hard starts so I jumped to a 32.5 pilot jet and solved my starting problem and smoothed out idle. My top end screamed but plugs looked lean so I jumped to a 320 main. Now I'm having trouble trying to get the mid range right but I've been raising the needle clip. Do I need to go down a size on my mains to get mid range right. Sorry about the long post just trying to give all the details.
  9. Your pilot jet could be stopped up.
  10. Those factory carb boots tear around the balance tube, especially if you have a boost bottle.
  11. I have the aluminum pipe clamps for the toomey t5's but I forget the brand, I beleive I got them from rocky mountain atv. What could I use to replace the gasket material in them cause one is leaking exhaust.
  12. I have the msr dominator aluminum bars with the atv bend, they only cost like 35 bucks but I did have to get a longer brake cable so I added stainless lines on the front. I am 6'1 and they are perfect for me.
  13. There used to be a comparison on here of stock ported with tdr reeds versus v-force and there was only a 1 hp difference.
  14. You have way to much extension on your swing arm which puts less weight on your rear tires. I would suggest getting a +4 swingarm at the most for your mods.
  15. For hard shifts try the modified shift star before possibly wasting money on parts you don't need. For the sore thumb I changed to a motion pro twist throttle.
  16. I would say timing, how much advance and what octane fuel are you running.
  17. So you think I still need to adjust my clutch even though it only slipped a couple of times and that has been 2 years ago, I don't think so. When you switch types of oil and there is still a small amount of the old oil they will react different.
  18. I just went through the same problem with mine and it was the reeds. My reeds looked fine but must have been opening to much and flooding that side. My right side plug was wet with fuel but did not apear to be firing. Switch your reed cages from one cylinder to the other and see if your problem switches cylinders.
  19. Could be your oil, I've smelled some oils that smell like rotten eggs while burning. I used to have the same problem with the gas smell until I switched to cam2 leaded race fuel. The 93 unleaded was giving me the awful gas smell and headaches.
  20. I had that happen when I changed mine one time. It only slipped in sixth gear wound out for the first couple of rides and then it stopped slipping and never happened again.
  21. I have stock ported cages and have been running boyeson reeds and it is a lot better than stock. I just got my tdr reeds in and will try to install them this week and see how they do, they are supposed to be the best setup other than v-force.
  22. A 7 paddle will spin more than an 8 paddle, if you have a lot of power more paddles will be better.
  23. The pro wedge or 4 snows do well on hard pack clay, and they help you with running a gear longer on top because they ballon up.
  24. I'm running 280 mains at sea level, but west coast guys usually have to run larger jets than us on the east coast.
