so who says this is actually legit?

if you blow up the picture you can kind of see what looks to be small pitting on the piston from detonation.....does it look like that up close in person or am i just seeing things black sunshine? if it were bad fuel i'd expect to see it on both sides......and i agree....it went WAY lean. The carb cap was leaking? how did you plug the carbs to do a leak down with the carbs on? i've NEVER done a leakdown with the carbs on. You said you checked that plug to see if you had anything wrong with it.....are you sure you didnt have a fouled plug and by mistake created a leak with the spark plug? either that or your buddy had it pinned wide open for a LONG time and the jetting may have been a tad lean on top.....causing it to lean out and melt through the piston. what was your jetting on the bike?

My Banshee doesn't like water problem, need advice.
Jereme6655 replied to 350iroc's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Welcome to the wonderful world of the 26mm mikuni carb. We have no idea why they do it.....but there's been speculation as to why they stick when they get slightly wet. And yes....it is your carb getting stuck. The throttle cable isn't what sticks.....its the carb slides that get stuck. There are a few choices to help you out..... you can buy new carbs...but it could get expensive depending on the carbs you want..... OR.... you can keep your banshee out of water. Its a 2wd higher speed SPORT quad......not a utility..... it would be like asking why a corvette isn't handling driving down logging roads so great. or asking why you don't see cement trucks racing on road courses. There have been a few people who have speculated on what causes the 26 to jam up for a quick minute like that.....no one really has come up with a guarenteed fix. most just wind up saying that it is just easier to change out carbs. -
hahaha.....ive noticed that before with me and you lol

other than getting rid of the big obnoxious TORS boxes there isnt a difference. But you can tune it and work on it easier without the tors units on it.

well.....to get your 4mil to perform at its best your gonna have to have the jugs ported for a 4mil anyways. so....if you can only afford either a port job or a 4mil then i would suggest just getting the port job. if you still have the old pistons from that set of jugs (if they're still good) then you could jsut get a port and slap the old top end back together without needing a bore. (however i would not suggest this really cheap route) if your gonna go for a 4mil it will cost you more......crank, new pistons, bore for new pistons, port job, new domes for the different pistons....

there should also be a parking brake switch on your bike that could be causing the problem.....look for two wires going into the parking brake area and disconnect that switch also to see if it will start after...

right side not firing properly and the outcome
Jereme6655 replied to aleyesonme's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
nope.....our site sponsors are the cats ass. if you just need a rebuild then just send them the jugs and they'll send you back what you need. Want to get your engine cases ported so that it will match a port job that your jugs have.....send the cases and jugs out. or if you have no idea about rebuilding the motor at all then find a friend and pull the motor out of the frame and you can actually mail your whole motor to any site sponsor for repairs....... trust me....every one of their abilities is amazing....you will not be disappointed. -
honestly i have a small tool box that has a couple of things that i take everywhere the banshee goes......screw drivers, spare jets, hose clamps, zip-ties, rtv sealant, thread tape, my clymers manual AND my flywheel puller...... its only $10-13 for the puller.......so its WELL worth the investment......plus you can always take it over to another camp if they are having a problem so they can try and get back on the trail....and usually when you show up with it they'll give you beer....
-
pretty sure it willl.....i know the puller will actually thread into a pretty large amount of flywheels on bikes.....

call site sponsor...talk to site sponsor.....buy from site sponsor........its that easy.... shit...its probably easier than making 2 posts about the same thing.....

What do you do when you can't ride...
Jereme6655 replied to RaisinBranshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
well this WOULD be the ideal time to do some maintenence to your bike.....change the trans fluid, clean the carbs...that sort of stuff... -
damnit....now im the but of another joke....hahahaha....
-
yes JD's customs makes things out of his house.....honestly he probably builds things to a better and higher standard than aftermarket pieces that you purchase through stores. There are ALOT of bikes on here that run stuff from JD and he is a very easy going and understanding guy to talk to. Plus if you have a problem (which you wont) you can call the guy who made them.....not some 19 yr old kid who works behind the counter sayin stuff like "ya bro...its totally gotta be the best one you can buy.....you can tell cause its got flames on it"......those kids need to be taken out back and beaten. On a side note..... JD was just in a pretty bad wreck on his banshee.....he's doing okay but last i heard he was still havin some problems moving around easily. so it may take a couple of days for him to get you one.....but im not sure. his screen name on here is 87sheerips.

Installed the T5s, TORs delete is a PITA
Jereme6655 replied to LS3 Machine's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
that and LS3 just likes his things to be done right.......he even stated "IM KIND OF A PERFECTIONIST"......hell he flies helicopters......if he ISN'T a perfectionist he winds up dead. maybe that's why its just ended up with him liking to do things right.... -
haha.....cam i was just thinkin the same thing. look brian....banshee's aren't about top speed.....YES...they are fast. YES they are fun. YES people know the banshee.....but who wouldn't after like 23+ years of production..... top speed on a banshee isn't important if your riding trails.....hell think about it.....even if your drag racing friends......how often do you make it into 6th gear before they realize they've lost and throttle out of the race? either way if your building a trail rider and your worried about top speed......you might as well go out and build a funny-car and trail ride it......your gonna be moving WAY too fast to work the trails.
-
mine can be a little bit of a bitch to move out sometimes.....it used to flop out all the time until i put a small washer under the spring inside of it. now it does not flop out while im riding......however i have to apply some upward force (pull up on the damn thing) to get it to swing over easy. Also it eliminated the damn rattle.
-
ps...... FUN = selling off everything else you have to afford the addiction of 2stroke orgasms........its like crack...but legal. Depending where your launching it.....hahaha
-
Windy......you my friend....are AWSOME.
-
tim......i hate you now because of your 2nd stage hahahahahaha.... looks like some nice parts you got there buddy.......the pipes alone will make that thing pick up quite a bit...
-
Hmmmm......well if you had to spray gas into the carb to get the bike to fire then you are NOT getting fuel to the motor....

Hard to start on fresh rebuild
Jereme6655 replied to Pat the one the only's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
i can't remember with berrymans........but watch out when you soak 'em.....some of the carb cleaners are corrosive towards plastic so you have to remove EVERYTHING including floats....otherwise things could get ugly... -
oh your stock trans will handle the power.....however with more power the stock tran's become harder to shift. The trans mods actually make it shift MUCH easier...
-
i thought about that too......but then i just pulled out my phone and called 'em......WAY better talking to someone on the other end....plus nick is quick at his job.....took less than 5 minutes...
