  1. Your pilots may be too big, but that's not going to solve all your problems. Any idea what your compression is? Clean air filter? Also, check out FASTOYS profile, he's got a link to a PLUGCHOP that you need to perform to size your mains properly.
  2. Try leaning the needle out. That will definitely help.
  3. You went from what kind of pipes to T5's?
  4. Dude, you just snapped on one of the most informative and heplful guys on this site..... way to make an impression!!!!!!
  5. 4th position from the blunt or pointy end? The more you move the clip TOWARD the blunt end, the leaner the position of the clip. Did you do a chop with the 340's? Your bog is most likely coming from the needle and not the main jet. You are lean judging by the pics. Go up a couple sizes on your main and do another chop. Try cutting all the threads off of the plug, that way you dont have to be so carefull when you are cutting them! Hope that helps.
  6. When you say top, do you mean the blunt end or the pointy one? VF3s will run a little richer than stockers. One clip position leaner is a pretty common position. Have you done a plug chop yet, or are you "feeling" your way through this jetting thing?
  7. How bout I trade you for the thrashed bone-stock one I picked up down there this spring for 3K? Wish you had that for sale then!!!!!!!!! No doubt you will unload this this for that price. Bump for fellow Wolverine
  8. If that is all he has done to that motor those carbs are gigantic!!
  9. Probably running lean. When I put my fmf's on and k&n I went up to a 300 main and it would scream but no power. The plug chop showed a lean condition. Stock jets with pipes=disaster. Put some bigger (280?) mains in and do a plug chop.
  10. I had to look, lol. Wouldn't that fuck up the spark plug length?
  11. Also try r-central.net
  12. Just out of curiousity....what are you doing when you start it? Choke out? Halfway out? Ect.. Since your new to banshees (and maybe 2-strokes?) this could be your trouble. Try a few kicks with the choke pulled all the way out with no gas. Make sure your plugs look alright and are not black and oily. Sometimes it's just that simple. It still is a good idea to check compression in both cylinders. They should be above 100psi and within 10% of each other. Good luck!
  13. The airscrew is for setting the idle/pilot circuit, it won't help your top end. Foam filter with the lid on? What are your plugs gapped at? You really should do a plug chop!!!
  14. They are not sleeved and it is wise to get the same bore on both. Whomever is going to do the machining will tell you if they are salvageable. Has it been bored already?
  15. TTT for an outstanding price!!! Very similar to my setup and I can't imagine selling mine for that, unless I needed the money to save my testicles. What the hell is with the tender vittles? I have a feeling I'm missing out on something good!
  16. Thats the same setup as I have...works great on the trail, never hit any 30'ers though
  17. There is a shit-ton on ebay, also try amazon. Probably get one shipped for $25 or so. Maybe find a used one cheaper but I enjoy marking my own pages with grease and anti-seize!
  18. Hear that, my buddies Matco made me get a bore and new pistons! Got my own Snap on after numbers didn't improve. That'll learn ya!
  19. "The ONLY way that thing is going to run good is wide open. If you don't run it wide open it's going to foul out the plugs and run crappy." How sound is this advice? seems like a boatload of feces to me, but I was curious. Went on a 100 mile ride last weekend. Was so dusty that you couldnt see. Averaged 25 mph on the trip and the bike ran great. You just need to get the carbs dialed in and make sure the rest of the motor is tight
  20. What the previous owner did was purchase a TORS eliminator kit. This is a good thing, but has nothing to do with the pilot circuit. Buy that clymers! Even the owner's manual will get you through synching the carbs and checking the float levels, I believe.
  21. Verify that your tester is in good shape somehow.
  22. The one with the BB on the bottom goes on the choke (left) carburetor. Don't know what the diff is between them, just that it is important. This is from a reputable builder
  23. did you put the probe into the hose coming out of the head?
  24. Might be. Could be some dirt making the slides stick or a clogged main jet. What does your air filter look like? Try lubing the cable, also. Have you had the carbs apart lately?
