That's a tough one... a car he could get into the 10's or 11's with what he has in the garage or a banshee he only rides a few times a year. haha! Good luck with the trade man...
-
Yeah, it idles. Raced it all last weekend at KOD.

Bought the carbs brand new from sudco and converted them myself. Had them for about 2 or 3 weeks. Still have the original boxes the carbs came in. .118 mains .118 dumps EGQ Needles on middle clip 58 Pilots Powerjets I put these on one of my banshee's for KOD and it never left my camp. I warmed the bike up in the morning two days and purged the bike before we loaded up to leave. Other than that, the carbs haven't been run. Still have the sudco stickers on them and look brand new. $385 + shipping Feel free to make other offers. I'm always open to trades or partial trades.

ROFL! No more banshee's... hahaha! I have (had) 3 of them. I had my 4mil black bike, my white stock stroke, and a 10mil cheetah that's never finished. LOL! I traded him my white bike for his 600rr raptor.

Traded him one of my shee's. I still have my black bike though. It will be interesting to see what kiel can do with the bike I traded him. He had a 10mil that ran amazing so it will be interesting to see how much he can get out of my old white bike.

Just wanted to say thanks to theshee for our trade today. I am one hell of a happy owner of a cbr600rr raptor now. Can't wait to get it into the dunes! Also look forward to riding with you labor day. Hopefully i'll have it all jetted and tuned by then! - Jared

Good to hear you thwarted her evil attempts at dis-banshee-ism.

If you know someone is stealing gas cans... nifty trick to get back at them: Mix 1 gal of gas with 4 gal of methanol and leave the cans sitting out. Then steal it... smells like gas, looks like gas, but with the methanol mixed in it will blow their shit up hardcore. We had someone who would steal our cans every time we went to walden and we did this. Cans stopped disapearing and we went camp to camp the next day and we are pretty sure we found the kids doing it. Couple high-school kids and they were complaining evey bike they brought blew up that morning on their first ride. Ha Ha Ha! Bring your dog if you have one and leave it chained up outside to your stuff. Dogs go nuts when stuff is out of place and will alert you to something going on. - Jared

Run the taller gearing set on your primary output gear and clutch basket. Then you could get away with running a much taller gearing on your sprockets without getting such tall gears. I think it will let you drop 1 to 1.5 sizes on the front sprocket. So... with the taller primary gear running a 16 would be the same as running a 17 or 18. I think NYUK runs the taller internal gears, you might ask him about it. - Jared

I'd say the twister cylinders. But you will need to have a little port work done on them to get them to run as good as possible. Factory porting on them is good, but not best. They have a normal sleeved cylinder so if you have some nasty failure you can re-sleeve them without the down-time of re-plating nicasil. If you spray I'd go with twisters. The DM's are a good cylinder and it seems all the big guys run them. The twisters you can get the adaptor plates and run your current intakes and exhaust. Witht he DM's I know you need different intakes, and reeds and maybe a different exhaust, but I don't know about exhaust. The DM's I've seen us a larger exhaust, but I've heard they can be cast in different exhaust sizes, but I doubt they would cast them with the small stock eshaust size. Plus with the twisters you can change to bigger intakes and bigger exhaust when you are ready to move up. Twister cylinders get my vote. I've seen the twisters run hard with the right porting, and they handle some big spray.

After looking at the porting on gregrobs herrjuggs cylinders and comparing it to the porting on my gorr cylinders I would have to say I agree with you on that one. My gorr bike makes quite a bit more power than his herrjugs bike and my transfers are probably 3/4 the size of the ones on gregrobs bike. My intakes are quite a bit smaller than his as well. I didn't go all crazy with any of the ports on my stock stroke bike either and its a zippy little fool. LOL

Can water get through Outerwears?
BigRed350x replied to ChippewaTSI94's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
You would have to suck a pretty good amount of water in to get it to hydro-lock your plug closed. Maybe your idea of a puddle is bigger than mine. haha! I've run through some pretty impressive puddles at high speed on all my bikes without any problems wtih K&N's and outerwears. Dunno what might have happened to you. The airbox cut up to act like a shield should keep you covered though. - Jared -
They sit pretty close to the cover. That looks normal to me.
-
Only time I really noticed a difference is on my 10mil cub I used to have. I run 3's on my black bike with the big square stuffers and run dual stage carbon fiber reeds on ported cages in my white back and don't notice a difference between the two when I switch them from bike to bike.

Take your stock airbox and cut it up to act like a shield around your pods. You could even make your own mounting hardware for it if you cut up where it normally mounts. I've ridden through some small puddles and crap without issues. Your engine and suspension will block a good bit of the splash and The little that does get on your carbs will probably atomize with the air/fuel going in. If you are getting your filters saturated like bansh-eman said, I would try and avoid them. Or do the airbox trick. - jared -
steering knuckle? Banshee has tie rods, steering stem and spindle/hub. Which part are you talking about? Do you have stock suspension? I'd say go to better tie rods and an aftermarket spindle assembly if you keep breaking stuff.
-
Call and talk to eric gorr. He can hook you up with some good book recommendations. He has been doing it a lot longer than the banshee has even been around and knows his shit. He did the cylinders that are on my black bike. I did the cylinders that are on my white bike and love them. I've surprised a lot of folks with professional port jobs on my little white bike. ...and no, I don't have any pics of the porting. Pics are useless unless you know the port timings and measurements.
-
Probably just jetting issues. What is your elevation? What are all the mods you've done to your bike? Do both cylinders smoke equally, or is one way worse than the other? The fact that you said it won't get into the power band hints at a rich condition. Pull your plugs and see if they are wet and black after you ride for a few min.

Unfortuneately if you did beat them after catching them in the act (and they survived) they could hire a decent lawyer and sue the ever-loving hell out of you and just buy their own toys. So... just be sure you simply kill them and hide the bodies. haha! Sounds like a good setup. I do similar using logging chain and industrial metal container locks if I'm in an area where I worry about it. But my bikes are stored where a retired military sharp-shooter and ex-police officer lives and he keeps a pretty good eye on the place, on top of the dogs barking when anything is out of place. His old-fashioned shoot first and ask questions later attitude makes me feel pretty good about storing my stuff there. I do like your idea for a security system using relays and switches. One of the best security systems I've found is letting people know that you are armed (and know how to use it) and a dog who has a bit of a mean side. - jared
