  1. For a stock-ish bike I would just run the stock gearing or close to it. 14x41 or 14x42 and run some 8 paddle haulers. If you have a little more power than stock then go up in paddles. I run 14x40 all the way up to 14x45 and usually run a 22" tall 10-paddle extreme. But my dune bike is a little more wild than most dune bikes you find. 8 paddles are about perfect for most stock-ish bikes. - jared
  2. LOL! It was -27 at my ranch this morning when I woke up.
  3. How do you figure those cylinders are "good shape" ???
  4. Just rebuild it. A crank can be snagged off ebay for a few bills and a bore/hone isn't expensive.
  5. Would injectors from a cbr600rr work?
  6. Put the stock adjusters back in and try it. Never had a single problem with any of the keihin's I've ever had not getting enough adjustment. I've had 33's, 3 sets of 35's, 38's and 39's. All of them adjust closed to fully open with the stock adjusters. Ditch the FAST stuff and go back to stock. You don't need to buy any kind of special spring for the carbs either. Just take a pair of cutters and remove the first 2 turns from the spring. Makes it plenty easy to pull. Edit: Is your throttle cable new? If its an older cable you could have some stretch issues. Keep in mind that some places actually sell longer cables for bigger carbs like the 41's and 42's etc. You might have a longer cable which isn't letting you get the full range of motion out of the slides.
  7. LOL! You haven't been around big engines much then. Without some kind of trans mods you would have a hell of a hard time shifting a 10mil. Any bike putting decent power to the ground will make it harder to shift.
  8. I hit high 80's on my 612 at the mountain. I was shaking like a little girl when i got to the top, but I did it. LOL The bike tried to walk under me like what dirt bikes do in sand. That's a creepy feeling going that fast.
  9. LOL, you might want to call and talk to lynn and hear the truth behind the videos.
  10. If it helps you any... I really doubt the 137hp number. Especially on stock cylinders, unless its a 10mil or something crazy. My 612cc Twister Cylinder, big block made 152hp at the rear wheels in oregon and that's freakin nuts. Garuntee you that no stock cylinder bike will make the power or torque that my 612 does.
  11. Worked out a deal with 530... If it doesn't work out I will be back here...
  12. would sell them for $375 or best offer. Feel free to make offers...
  13. I make it all over this area. Look for any of the bikes in my sig and come say hi if you ever see us. I ride KP the most but hit up St. A, sand mountain UT, walden, etc. I live in Wyoming. - Jared
  14. No comparisson between stock and aftermarket. Try and get a ride on someone's bike who has full suspension setup. All my buddies call my black bike the magic carpet or the caddy.
  15. 1. Slobanshee06 (Wildcard Racing) Send him a PM and he will take care of you. 2. Eric Gorr 3. LC Performance 4. K&T 5. A&S 6. Herr Jugz 7. anyone else....
  16. Generally when selling something you try and give as much information as possible to the possible buyers. Not as little information. How about you put down some specs and some information and maybe a price. Being secretive with a sale usually doesn't yield very desireable results.
  17. LOL, I don't have anything that I could even run stock carbs on.
  18. There is a spot on the right pipe where my coolant line touched it. You can also see where the left pipe has had one of those weird front brackets cut off. I never attach anything there anyway, so i didn't worry about it when I got them. I think its for putting a spring between the two pipes.
  19. I've got a set of OOF CPI's with built-in silencers I would trade you. I'll get pics tonight and post up for you. - Jared
  20. I have OOF CPI's with silencers, 1 out each side that I would like to trade for some in-frame CPI's or shearers. Prefer shearer's but either would be fine. Can throw cash in on the deal if your pipes are in good shape. See my ad in the for sale section. - Jared
  21. I have a set of CPI OOF pipes with silencers that I would like to trade for a set of shearer or CPI in-frames. My pipes are chrome and in good shape. There is a half-dime size ding down by the frame just under the cylinders on one pipe. The mounts have been re-welded (which is normal on the old-style CPI pipe mounts, they crack from the factory) and the necks on the pipes were cut off and rotated and welded back on to get both pipes to sit the same on a drag frame. I have them mounted up on a stock frame bike right now and they sit even and look good. Chrome on the pipes is in good shape. I will get pics tonight. Prefer shearer in-frames, but CPI's would be fine as well. I can throw some $$ in on the deal if your pipes are in great shape. - Jared
  22. Holy crap! I gave up half-way through page 3. This whole argument has been done before. Quite a few times actually. Its all just in what you want to do with it and what YOU think is best. Who cares if you have a super-tard cylinder with jew pipes and herkamer fudd carbs or joe-blow cylinders and couch cushions for silencers. If it does what you want and you have fun riding it... who cares!?! The weirdest thing I ever tried was a K&T drag ported stock stroke cub cylinder that I put on a 4mil longrod crank with offset 17cc domes, T5's and 33mm carbs. It was one of the funest bikes I ever had and I wish I never sold it. It wasn't the fastest or most powerful thing out there, but it was fun to ride. It had the hit that the original drag cylinders did, but it hit in the midrange instead of up on top. Using the stock height cylinders with a 4mil without re-adjusting the porting was a long stretch, but worked and was pretty fun to ride. I've got a stock cylinder 4mil Gorr ported bike with 38's and shearers that will put a hurtin on a LOT of cub drag bikes and cheetah drag bikes. and its my little duner! If you want to get all competitive I have a 612cc big block twister that did some high 80's up sand mountain. It all just depends on what you like to do and what you think works best for you. Some of these arguments get out of hand.
