  1. I had one one time that took me (340lbs) with a 6 pipe cheater pipe on a 2' cresent (keeping the axle from turning) and my friend (390 lbs) with a 5' cheater pipe on a pipe wrench turning the nut, plus heating the nut until it was cherry red with a torch to finally break it loose.
  2. I too was wondering when you will be doing polishing. I also need chroming done.
  3. I just saw this thread. Back in school (VO-AG class) a couple friends and I did the oxy-acetlene thing. We used a large trash bag also. We were in a 60X80 block building with large windows all the way around. I was the only one that knew anything about a torch, so I filled the bag. Then I fired the torch up and heated a brazing rod until it was cherry red. A friend then threw the rod at the bag. Luckily, I put in too much acetelene. It still exploded into a 10' round fireball and blew out some of the windows, but it would have been worse if it had more oxygen. The loudest oxy-acetelene bomb we ever made was in one of those thick rubber punching balls. You know the ones that you buy in a 3 pack at wal-mart that have the rubber band on them? Fill one of those up until it is about to burst, then lay it on a paper towel, light the towel and RUN. The pressure inside is far greater than a normal ballon. The sound can be heard for miles. I am lucky our stupid stunts didn't get us hurt. We also had the bright idea to build a cradle to hold an oxygen tank at an angle with the valve downward. A friend then hit the valve with a sledge hammer. 2200 PSI inside a tank really will make them take off like a torpedo. It went over a 1/4 mile and hit a bluff (which was what we were aiming at). By the way, "If it sounds dangerous, do NOT try this at home or at all!!!!"
  4. I am bidding on your flywheel. Would you happen to have a stator or wiring harness?
  5. I need a chromed or VERY good condition blaster axle for my drag banshee.
  6. Jim, here is that testimonial again. I sent this to Jim after my first big track race. The PM was titled: This TT motor is slow as hell!!!!! Just kidding. My first race on a 3/8 mile track was saturday. This thing is awesome. Halfway through my heat race, my arms were pumping and I slowed down and still won by 1/4 lap. The third place guy was almost a half lap down. During my feature race, I was totally worn out. I couldn't even hold on to the bike anymore. I got a good run on them the first couple of laps, then I slowed down because I knew I couldn't run the rest of the race at this pace. I was only running about 3/4 throttle, and slowing down so far in the turns that I downshifted twice and still lugged the motor out of the turns. On the next to the last lap, the guy in second took the high line and was right beside me, trying to pass. I looked up the track and saw he was making a good run and would have passed me if we were turning the same HP. I thought, "f*ck this. This bitch has still got a lot more throttle." I gave it all it had and I crossed the finish line as he was going into turn 4! Thats a hell of a gap to put between us in just one and a half laps. This motor pulls like a striped ape and put a huge smile on my face. Then I shifted. I didn't think it could pull any harder. I was wrong. Everything went blurry as my eyes watered. Damn this thing runs. I had at least half a dozen people come up to me and say, "That bike is FAST". D34 even commented that he thought I outpowered everyone there. Thanks for the kick ass motor. I would love to give you some more business from around here, but I don't need the competition. I took a few pictures and will e-mail them to you if you want them for the website. Thanks again, Richard Jims reply: "I would love to give you business from around here but I dont need the competition"....you guys are all the same! Hey well, if you posted that little story on the board, Id sell 10 stroker engines this week... guarenteed. Glad you like it Richard, that was my goal...Jim Also, I am from southeast MO. My passion racing drag stroker will be together soon (hopefully). It will be a 1-5 override 1/8 mile asphalt bike. I can't wait to give you some numbers from it.
  7. THe 2n1 setup with a K&N (with outerwear) is the ONLY way to go with stock carbs. I have ran the Pro-flow setup without a lid, with a lid and holes, clamp ons, and the 2N1 setup. The 2n1 totally blew the others away. One of the easiest power increase I have found.
  8. I got my upper case back from jim a couple of weeks ago. He did the filet welding like he is talking about and it looks extremely trick. It is so much more than just case matching. Right below the transfers is now smooth for uninterupted airflow.
  9. I have found the hard way that renthal grips and renthal glue only work with each other. Any other glue will melt the renthal grips and the renthal glue melts any other manufactures grips.
  10. Do you bake the high temp powder at the same temp as the regular powder? Just curious how it can hold up to high temps if you melt it to the steel at lower temps.
  11. I have a friend that has a set of CPI's for $425 that are hardly used. PM me with your phone # and I will get ahold of you and him.
  12. What size wheels and tires are you running now? 10" wide aren't really needed and actually make most bikes push harder. I know of guys running stroker motors on 8" wide wheels. I run 10" on mine, but am considering going back to 8's.
  13. Powdercoat will blow off with an airhose at 400 degrees. The surface temp of your pipes will easily top 400 degrees. Powdercoating would not be a good option. As fadeddreams said, ceramic coat is awesome. Very durable plus it keeps the pipe cooler because it transfers heat quicker.
  14. Although the Garage Days album is cool, it just goes to show how much interest in Metallica was lost in the mid 90's. They had to resort to doing a whole album of cover songs.
  15. I heard about this on the news last night. They didn't have many details then. Pretty bad deal. Imagine what the cop is thinking also. The "what ifs" would be endless.
  16. I have some that I just race cut the fronts. They are from a 87. If you don't want race cut fronts, I would sell just the rears.
  17. This is totally personal preference. I run a -1 and have good results and am planning on sticking with it. D34 runs a -4. Another guy that raced with D when I started hanging around him ran a -2 and thats what worked for him. The best thing is try it with the stocker for a few races, then go to a -2 (which is the most common) and see the difference. From there you can decide how hooked up you are and decide what length might work better for you. If it gets too short, it will make your front push and also hook up the rear and you can't slide. Too long and its too slick.
  18. The best concert I have ever been to was Godsmack with Staind, Cold, and Systematic as openers. "Its been awhile" was released 2 days before the concert so its been about 3 years ago. Godsmack put on one hell of a show. If I ever get the chance to see them again, I will not pass it up.
  19. I am with you screamin. I am trying to get mine together for the races. What classes are you guys running? I guess I'll be in 350-400 alky.
  20. Just remember, you can't pull vacumm on only one cylinder. They seal in the crank really doesn't seal anything. You'll have to block both exhaust ports and both intakes as well as install a plug in the other cylinder.
  21. Yep, I run 9's. BR9EIX to be exact in the race bike and BR9ES in the trail bikes.
  22. Dyna's customer service is second to none. THey are very helpful and if you think your ignition has a problem, send it to them for free testing. Also, make sure you run resistor spark plugs.
  23. I am 23 and grew up on county music. The black album (mainly Sandman) by Metallica is what got me listening to metal about 6 years ago. I have since bought all of the earlier metallica albums. Even though many people disowned metallica after the black album, I still think Load and Reload are worth buying. So, I figured St. Anger would be about the same also. Was I wrong. This has to be the biggest waste of money on a CD that I have ever spent. I bought it the day it was released and have listened to it once. It sounds like a band that has been together 20 days instead of 20 years. They only other CD that I have been as let down by was Chris Cornell's solo album. I would still like to see them live, but I wish I would have done it last year before this new release so I could hear some good music. Of topic, anyone checked out StoneSour? Aside from the one song they have released, which I think is pretty g-a-y, the album is cool. Some songs would be great to use as background music for Sandstorm or other riding movies. Everytime I hear track 1, I think about how I would use it in the background of a race video.
  24. I was a big poster over at the connection, but it has really went down in the past year. Now I hardly even go there. Roostthrower, are you going to Aledo? I am thinking about it, but I can't decide.
  25. What kind of pipes are they?
