  1. Guys in my family have been driving Ford Diesels since 1983. All have block heaters. Its not an option. It seems that every year model, the cord is tied up a different place. It took me an hour to find the one on my '96. My '99 was tied up to the A/C high pressure line. The best part about plugging it up, you're heater is already warm when you start it!!!! Anyone had any fuel gelling problems yet? I had a tractor gell on Christmas eve. I have yet to gel a Powerstroke, but the older 6.9's and 7.3's where the fuel filter was on the firewalll would gel all the time.
  2. First off, yes I lost to D's 636. Oh well. I've been faster on my RR in 5th gear than D's bike would ever think of doing in 6th. And I will still run you again. Coming off that old 600 to the 1000 took a couple weeks to get used to. I seriously doubt a new R1 will do 120 in 1st. I also would have to see the 104 from a ZX-10 to believe it. A 929 will do 74 according to a friend that owned an '01. Gixxer 750's are very fast. It would take one hell of a banshee to even think of touching them. I would think it would have to be higher geared to hit a "true" 93MPH in first. Everyone that rides knows that sportbikes have the most inaccruate speedo's. They read incredibly high.
  3. It is the same part number as everyone uses for 34PJ's, 35PWK's, etc. Motion Pro #01-0813
  4. I run a Passion +4. So far, the CPI's seem to be better for my kind of racing. We never fall off the pipe. Rockets do make more midrange that CPI's (I dynoed them both this weekend. In a few weeks, I will be dynoing the CPI's vs. the off the shelf shearers. Look for the results to be posted.
  5. So, when are we doing this? I will need a week or so to order the shearers.
  6. Yeah, externally the 351M and 400 are the same. They are both based on the 351C (cleveland) engine. Many people call the 400 a big block, but I don't. The main reason I don't think it is is that the C and M heads will fit on a windsor block since they all used the same bore spacing. You have to tap and plug a couple water jackets, and use custom intakes (or a BOSS 302 intake). The valve train will have to be for a C or M. The reason a lot of people confuse them with BB's is they use the canted (angled) valves like the 370/429/460. The modifieds quit production in 80, the clevelands stopped in '73 I believe. I have a problem with absorbing all information that I think is interesting. I don't remember a damn thing in school, but I can tell you a lot specs and facts about engines, heads, blocks, ATV's, motorcycles, and lots of other unimportant information. I'll try to send you a picture of the '68 F-100 that I built. It was powered by a stock bottom end '68 429 (orginal pistons even) with a set of C8 heads that I ported, old school Offy intake, headers, full MSD igntion, C&S 800 Aersol carb, and a comp 294S solid cam. 3,200 stall, spool, and 4.11 gears made it fun to drive. It was a torque monster. I estimated around 500HP on pump gas. Led, I love those broncos. They bring hella prices and I can't afford one. I have too many other toys.
  7. I know I have a good pump around somewhere. I looked last night but I couldn't find it. If you aren't able to find one in a junk yard, I'll look harder for mine. I don't have an extra pulley so don't mess yours up. You have to have a power steering pulley puller to get it off in case you didn't know. Edit: Also, I am sure the engine is a windsor. Modifieds never had serpentine pulleys unless someone put them on aftermarket. Also, if your distributor sits straight up and down, not at an angle its a windsor. The windsors also use an alumium front timing cover. The block on the mods stick out farther.
  8. I live in southeast MO, about 6.5 hours from you. Stclark, if we get this setup, I will be testing the Shearers vs my current CPI's. Where is the dyno actually located? South of you I take it?
  9. I lightened my stock J-arm frame to around 31lbs. Nothing was added, just tubes, mounts, and some bracing removed. Of course it is still stock wheelbase also. I think it is still very strong. Here is a link to a few pics of it: www.gsgw.net/Jinx.htm Its the blue mettalic frame, not the same frame as the medium blue frame that has the red plastics on it.
  10. Loco, let me know if you find a few people that want to go together to rent the dyno for a day. I would be interested in throwing in a few dollars. I am wanting to try a set of shearer pipes. Right now I am running CPI's (which if I come up you would be welcome use if your builder can't come up with a set). If we can't find enough people to justify a day, you would be welcome to come down here to the dyno I use. I think the guys that operate it are helpful and very good with tuning.
  11. Accurate? No two brands of dynos read the same. The dyno I was one this weekend reads about 10% less than the dyno-jet dyno I was on last year. My Passion engine made 76HP on this stingy dyno. It has a very smooth curve with lots of overrev. I'll get the graph up as soon as I get it scanned.
  12. Chances are it is an "E" that you see since it is a serpentine system. So its an 80's engine. Ford truck power steering pumps are the same from mid 70's to mid 90's. Any ford truck pump with a plastic ressy will bolt.
  13. G3's suck. I wasted my money trying them. I tested them vs. V-force 2's then sent them to a shop on Planet Sand and he dynoed them. The V-force made more power.
  14. Minkia, I've been trying to get ahold of you. Is that set of pipes on their way too me or do I need to look elsewhere for a set? The dyno operator is kind of upset that my bike has been sitting there in his way waiting for 2 weeks.
  15. As its been said many times, little pricks type stuff on the internet that they would never have the balls to say in person. I personally type only what I wouldn't mind saying directly to someones face. I promise you wouldn't say that about be to my face. And, just so my post contributes to this thread, I think Blue Dueces comment was funny as hell. It was a joke, are you man enough to take one? Dust the sand out of your vagina and get over it.
  16. I am bitching about parts for GRR. Andy has a piss poor operation. I paid for a strut on SEPTEMBER 12TH and still haven't recieved it! If I want to, I will post this in every thread I reply to from now until I recieve the strut. He will not return calls or emails. The pistons that Loco sent with the cylinders clearly say 513MO6500. What do you think the 6500 stands for? Even if you can't tune, surely you can read. D34 simply made one statement. Just like when he was waiting on the parts from GRR, when you are promised something you expect the person to come through. Be it .020" over cylinders (which he ordered pistons for and now doesn't have a use for), or promised parts will be there on Friday but it takes 2 more weeks for Andy to get his shit in gear and send them. The "professional builder" (Jim at passion) you all dog so bad on, builds engines that are right with "Dan the Man" (whoopty motherfuckin doo) at Patriot. D34 and I proved this last saturday. Our dyno curves were so close, even the dyno operator was amazed. My engine was quite a bit cheaper than D's also.
  17. You need to get over there and explain to her that some of that weird shit happening, like her beer sliding across the table n shit is because there's a tire flat on one side of her house. 290547[/snapback] That's hilarious. Flat tire!!!
  18. I have some billet tie rods with chrome ends. Also some straight stock tie rods, no ends. PM me if interested in either set.
  19. I think the cable you need is Motion Pro #813. I can't remember exactly but its something like that. Its the cable that is made to also be used with 34PJ's, PWK's, TM's etc.
  20. It tells me you need taller gearing. Also, if you and Andy are such good buddies, will you please tell him to ship the DAMN strut I ordered from him 2 months ago? GRR might build some fast stuff, but they sure aren't fast about building it.
  21. I've always heard it: "The angle of the dangle is directly proportional to the heat of the meat, given that the mass of her ass remains the same". Write that as a corallary in geometry class .
  22. Many places have different rules and classes. Most every place requires nerf bars and a kill switch (If they don't, I am not sure I would want to race there ). Beginner classes usually require lawnmower tires on the rear and no swaybar.
  23. Yeah, he doesn't want to do anymore big bores. Replacement sleeves are different though. You don't bore the entire stock sleeve out like you do with a BB sleeve. I would buy a set of standard bore or .020 cylinders though. It will cost $250 to have yours resleeved and you can pick up a set of standard bore for $300. You can get $50+ out of yours on ebay.
  24. I thought Scooby was part of DSWorks? I'll come over and check it out give me a call. It looks like I am going to have to cover the windows at my place for a while so I can do some MAJOR "modifications" to a frame. I might even have to try some frame building. I am just getting ready for when you add that other cylinder.
  25. I didn't download the vid (dialup and a slow connection takes WAY too long), but if the DS is Scooby's bike its EXTREMELY fast. Turboed, intercooled, and EFI. Edit: At one time Scooby had talked about possibly adding a smal shot to it to spool the turbo quicker. I don't think he ever got the N2O lined out though.
