Probably from wrecks. I think banshee frames are the weakest ever made. Will your gas tank slide in and out easily or does it require prying or beating? If it requires effort, your bike has been on its top before. The steering loop is SO easy to bend its not funny.

D was about 6th. His cousin was like 4th. Brandon didn't pull away from the rest. First time the motor went, the outer crank bearing broke all the way around where the groove is for the half ring keeper then the rest of the outer race shattered and pieces got into the rod bearing and ruined it. When the rod bearing locked, it shoved forward on the piston and cracked the cylinder sleeve. After talking with Jim, I ground out the cracked part of the sleeve so I could get my motor back together for the race. I put a TZ bearing on the crank I had for my drag bike and dropped it in with new pistons. In the heat race, my motor once again seized and I clutched it and pulled ff the track. It was EXTREMELY hot and once it cooled, it would start on the left cylinder but had no compression on the right. I pulled the plugs and the left one looked fine but the right side was coated in melted aluminum. My fuel line to the right side is slightly pinched but I thought it should have flowed enough fuel, but maybe I was wrong. Either that or it was sucking air somewhere. It wasn't showing any signs of an air leak though. I am so disgusted with it I haven't even pulled it apart yet. D's seized also as he pulled off the track after the heat race. We both ran a different air filter than normal so they might have been lean do to those. He changed back to his old filters, let the motor cool and ran the feature with no problems.

So called Assult Weapon ban over!
jinx44 replied to rebelbanshee2's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I've been waiting on this. Hopefully the price of AK drums come down. I need one of those. Plus, I can now bring my sporterized SKS out that has a flash suppressor, high cap, folding stock, etc that I have been hiding. Maybe the price of the AR's will come down. I was about to buy one a couple months ago then I remember the ban was about to run out so I waited. -
Jack, we missed you at the National this weekend. 14 entries in Pro-AM ST. Brandon Watts won. I blew my motor once again. Two motors, two races. I haven't pulled it apart yet, but I know it wasn't the crank like last time.

J.J., thanks for the reply. I am sorry but I haven't been watching this topic. One more question, does it run an oil filter? If so, how big is the SOB. -
You guys have to read this aim convo i had

I think autozone (at least locally) hires the stupidest people. I was in there one night looking for some wire to hook up my electric water pump on my '68 big block Ford truck. All they had was single conductor. An employee came over and asked it I needed help so I told him what I was looking for. Then he asked what I am using it for. I said, "To wire up my water pump." He said, "How do you wire a water pump?" My smartass self told him, "Well, when I buy a new water pump, I drill and tap a hole in each side. I run a screw into each hole and hook the postive wire to one side and the negative wire to the other. When I start my engine, I flip a switch that send current to the screws and ionizes the water to keep it from cavitating." He said, "Thats a great idea. I never thought about that. I bet it stays a lot cooler." I just busted up laughing. One day I just felt like messing with someone so I called Autozone and asked for an oxygen sensor for a '69 Mustang. The guy said, "Oxygen sensor. Ford. Mustang. That's odd, our computer usually will show parts all the way back into the 60's, but they aren't listing your mustang." I have also called and asked for, "A Remanufactured distributor for a Ford 4.6 SOHC mustang with DIS." DIS is distributorless igntion system. On a side note, I also like messing with grocery stores. Call and ask if they have Cap'n Crunch in a box. Its a new version of the Prince Albert prank. -
By the way, I have found that Abernathy's in Union City, TN has the cheapest prices around. The beat the best deal I could find locally by $2000 on my CBR. They are about 2 hours from me so it was worth the drive. Mapquest says they are 6 hours from you BigNasty1, so you can decide if its worth it or not. They sell the hell out of bikes down there. Something like 60+ street bikes alone each week! Not to mention ATV sales. They sold 4 CBR1000RR's in two days. Check them out at Abernathycycles.com Don't waste you time trying to haggle them less than the price they give you. They already know they are the cheapest. I asked if I got a free hat or anything, the store manager said, "We gave you the bike." I have no complaints with them.

I would think the CB599 would be a great bike. I haven't priced it so I don't know if it is overpriced like was said. I have a friend that rides a CB919 and loves it. The 599 uses an injected version of the proven 95-98 CBR600F3 motor. State Farm has the cheapest insurance I have found for motorcycles. That is bad considering Progressive is a sponsor of AMA. State Farm goes solely off of motor size. Insurance through them on a 1100 V-star is higher than my CBR1000RR. If you go through Kawi credit, it is just like a credit card with a revolving account. There is no collateral. That is why you don't have to have full coverage. Buy you a 1000RR. I love mine.
-
Just buy you a new CBR1000RR, I LOVE mine. FTZ builds quite a few 600's for micro sprints and I know there is a micro class for larger motors so they might build the 900's also. You can check them out at ftzracing.com. If they can't help you, they might know someone who can.

Super Clean is the best degreaser I have found. Keep it off of polished aluminum though.

I am wanting the narrower width of the blaster axle for my banshee. I am running into a couple of problems. The stock blaster brake rotor hub just floats on the axle. Will this work with the hydraulic brakes of the banshee as long as you keep it oiled so it can slide? I don't see a problem with it. The rotor hub is also shorter on the blaster, and it is turned around the opposite way. I have a LSR hub that I think will work with modification. Other than a drag axle, do you have any other ideas?

You can see mine on Passions website: http://www.passionracingengines.com/Photos.html Second picture over. White and blue plastic on the bright green frame.

My stroker turned 72 HP, 40ft/lbs and then locked a crank bearing up the first race off the dyno. I think if I play with a few of the things me a Jim have disscussed, 75 shouldn't be a problem.
-
The "reverse stator" he is talking about is basically like a PVL. Some bikes such as the KX80 use a rotor. He is just using the stock KX parts and putting them on the banshee. PVL would be a lot simpler. I used a YZ490 rotor on a 750 twin motorcycle once. Bdbanshee has done a few flywheels for me. They look awesome. Actually, one is in the mail back from him as we speak.

Another Bush vote here. Off Topic: 347cid, what do you have that SBF stroker in?

itsmyforte, I forgot to tell you its in the mail. You should have it Thursday.

Uh, I do have one question. How the hell do you start this thing? There is a guy just a couple miles from me that rebuilds topends for tug boats. I am amazed at his cylinder hone. The machine is over 14' tall. I thought the parts he worked on were amazing, but its nothing compared to that motor. -
I am the "proud" owner of the G-3's that was used in the dyno comparison. I bought them simply to prove a point on another forum and sent them to Kevin to dyno test. Anyone interested in buying a set of G-3's?

$35!? I paid $70 for the ones I bought and would pay that again. The shift pro works awesome. I have a cut star also. It takes VERY little effort to lift the shifter with the shift pro. The spring is considerably softer. If you are worried about a soft spring, I think even the roller would be an improvement with the stock spring. Just to give you an idea how much it helps, I can't even turn my star by hand with the stock setup, but with the shift pro I can easily roll it around. I am headed to ebay right now to get another if they are only $35. By the way, aftermarket shifts help a lot. Stock shifter flex WAY to much. Just checked ebay and the only ones I see are still $69.

Are you looking for an earlier swingarm? I noticed your login is super88_banshee, so I am guessing either that means 88 model banshee or the Oliver tractor. I have an '87 that I will part with. I know the early and late swingarms look a little different, but do they interchange?

Does anyone know anything about Polaris...

I own a '93 350L 4x4 The throttle limit system that you mentioned works like the one on the banshee. I had a throttle cable stretch and when you would hit the gas, it would cut out. The limiter won't affect top end though. The stock exhaust has two plugs that you can pull and clean it out. Would you be interested in any aftermarket performance parts for your 350L? I have a few. Boyesen reed cage, 38mm mikuni carb, shaved head, Hot seat performance pipe, hypershift clutch kit, etc. Really wakes the bike up. PM me if interested in anything. I am thinking of parting mine out. -
On a 535 gas trinity cheetah, I have personally seen the CPI BB pipes make about 6 more HP than the trinity's. Dyno's don't lie.

Pro-Circuit Pipes can they be polished?

Ceramic coat looks bada$$ for most things. I had a set of headers for my truck done in ceramic. Kind of a shiny silver finish. I don't know how it would look on banshee pipes though. -
First off, that is why we have the electoral college. Or forefathers also thought we were too stupid to make a good decision. With that being said, how can you say "anyone but bush" is a good decision. I have no idea what Kerry is all about because he won't stand up and say it. He is too busy gunning on people with the "anyone but bush" mindset. He doesn't have to tell people what he will do or try to accomplish because they will settle for a candidate that is worse just to get bush out. This "reminds me why some people shouldn't be allowed to vote".

I have used it for years in 4 stroke rebuilds. I have never tried it in 2-strokes. Works great and won't burn off the rings like oil will and it won't carbon. I've rebuilt many V-8's and have never had a ring seating problem since using it.
