  1. They are a pain in the ass to put on. You have to get both plugs perfect to fit the lock on. Maybe try torqing the plug down to 14lbs and see if that works.
  2. Well last trip I had I went way up on the jets and it runs a lot better but still needed bigger main and needle jets so maybe this thing will work out. I will see next trip.
  3. T-6 are not designed for a ported engine at all. They are only good for stock port design. If you are looking to make some more power why dont you put your money somewhere else because t-5's are good pipes. Maybe porting, increase compression, adv timming, v-force reeds, loose weight off bike and yourself, lighten flywheel.....
  4. I think it depends on how your porter sets your transfers up. Some porters like different pipes but shears are very nice and come at a great price. I also know a lot of 350cc motors like t-5 too. Why are you going to sell an 03 to get an 05? and who is going to port it?
  5. Single row weighs less but dual row last longer.
  6. shredish, where did you have the clip on the dek with the 230 main?
  7. whats up with the spacer plate. I have never seen a strocker with a plate run good at all.
  8. if you can not get toomeys easily then traditional sheet style packing is good too. What ever you do do not get the stringy shit. It slides all over the place when you put it back together. That was a waste of money.
  9. He does not have porting so 225 is a big main jet. I was useing a dek needle and had to drop the clip all the way down and it ran almost perfect so I now have the eek needle as well but have not tried it. If shredish is right about the needle then you should leave your main alone and drop the clip on the needle all the way down and see how that works.
  10. shears are a good choice and cpi's as well in that same scale.
  11. People do it when it is level with the head on they just use marvel mystery oil and maybe some grease somewhere. I cant really use a dial indicator because nothing is magnetic to stick the mount to.
  12. take it somewhere and see what they say after measuring it. Do the walls look clean? is it just the top of the piston or any part of the sides? Blaster pistons are not too exspensive so you might as well get another one. Check out macdizzy's web site he does a complete rebuild on a butt blaster.
  13. Do one thing at a time. Try a 200 main. Put the clip on the needle on the very bottom and see how that does before buying a new needle. I am guessing it cam with a dek but sometimes they give you the wrong one. How many turns out is your air screw? It should be 1.5 to 2 turns out. If not you should get a new pilot. Dont go down too big on the main like to a 180 because you will blow that piston up.
  14. I would like to know how to measure my compression ratio by adding fluid into the chamber when the piston is at tdc. I just dont know the math for it and how can you tell if you are true tdc?
  15. I ride in glamis with 22 inch tires and have about the same hp as you and like to use all of my 6 gears. You should use 13-41. If you use 20 inch tires use 14-41.
  16. shredish have you ever rode a banshee with porting and bigger dual carbs or a 2-1 with porting? My friends bike is ported very simular to mine and has 34pjs and he pull away from me every time and his power band is very smooth all the way through. I would stay with 2 carbs unless you dont giving up HP for ease of tunning.
  17. THis is sand season so everyone is packed with business. Its going to be hard to find someone to do it quick. You might want to check out Port Magic, K&T,A&S,Patriot are the guys who I would take it too.
  18. Mine was 53 up olds.
  19. Dont get a barrent clutch again. Go to the yamaha dealer and order this clutch. 4H7-16321-02. This is for the fibers only and you have to buy them each for 8 dollars each. These are for a 750cc motor and have a lot more surface area than stock. Also the best thing about these fibers is they do not have a taper on the ears where they slide into the basket. All the aftermarket ones are tapered and that is why you will have big groves cut into your basket and you will have to buy a hindson $250+ basket. You will probally be able to get away with stock springs too.
  20. Ok jim I think you should change your business name to Passion Pussy Porting. LOL Thats a funny as name
  21. Just currious why 100 LL fuel. What does LL mean? If your going to buy race gas at 6 something a gallon why not 110.
  22. I have 215 but need to go either 220-225 with a 35 and porting 52 pilot 2 turns out and a dek needle which is lean so I am going to a eek needle. Trinity has some specs on their web site but with these 2-1 carbs they are all very different to jet. Put a big main jet in there and see if it bogs and check your NEW plugs gaped around 18-22. Try the biggest main you have and put the needle clip on the bottom and see how it runs. If it bogs then lower the needle and main one step at a time.
  23. I had my crank welded and the weld broke! Lucky we saw it and rewelded it. This time there is a nice weld 3\4 around the pin. The guy asked if I was revving the hell out of it and I told him I was just trying to keep up.
  24. You will have bottom end with proper jetting.
