  1. depending on your temp, your mains should be 290-300. ppilots should be 27.5 or 30 and the needle clip 1st or 2nd knotch from the blunt end. have you synced your carbs yet?
  2. yup, your right on the reeds, most likely boysen power reeds
  3. 1.5-2 turns after they start to raise the slides
  4. word  had an 03 660, put on fmf powerbomb, and jets. it really freakin woke up :woot:
  5. never mind, just found a java prog. just gotta figure durations. :shoothead:
  6. anyone have a pipe program that can help me with my daughters' quad? it's only a 49cc, but i think the pipe is all wrong. i'm trying to get a little bottom end, but not much to mod, and can't gear any lower. the headder pipe is 3/4" x 13" before it hits the chamber, and i'm not sure the timing's right that far down. if you can help, that would be great. just lemmie know what #'s you need
  7. +4 timing plate, boysen reeds, coolhead
  8. you were probably running a much lighter oil before, which would account for the clutch creep. that is caused by normal wear on the clutch basket, but the thicker oil makes it more noticeable. if you are not in higher temps, i would switch to a lighter oil. what color is the smoke?
  9. i know the size and coolant hose is different, but will it bolt up?
  10. CLR? just polish it real quick, or you'll have to work harder later. you may want to roll thr top sides inward, instead of outward, and just weld mount tabs. and put the holes in the bottom corners of the front and rear of the box. you can just cut the corners off the bottom before you weld. that's just my ideas on how i'd do it. and maybey not so long
  11. i have some 22's i'll trade strait across  :yelrotflmao: but seriously, what's your coolant like? the coolant, and mixture makes a big difference in cooling
  12. measure the holes on 1 cylinder. front to 1 rear is 95mm center to center. front to each middle is 57mm c-c. middle to middle 78mm c-c. i have one sill installed, but i'm gonna put my powerhead on soon. looks like yours is freeze damage, from the look of he coolant passages, and where it cracked.
  13. that's the "kill" wire. it goes to the kill switch, the keyswitch, and the tors. make sure the tors box is unplugged(little black box with 3 wires, to the left of the coil) if you bypassed the key, make sure the black/white wire is not connected to anything. and, of course, make sure your bike is in on/run when you test
  14. did you set the pickup gap right? at the cdi, check that the red/black wire has continuity with ground, and that the black/white wire doesn't. also, check that the black wire has continuity with the frame, engine, and black wire to the coil. what was the ohm readings?
  15. blaster, you simply need to drop your needles a knotch a a time, untill the sputter goes away, and 220 is a jet for stock pipes and filter/snorkel, up to 60 degrees, sea level. it's not about "what we do over here" rather than what should be done anywhere. we simply jet for what the engine needs, not just what kinda works
  16. no, vaccume leak
  17. have you synced your carbs yet? which side is the plug white? the arscrews regulate how much air passes by the pilot jet. this is the idle to between 1/8&1/4 throttle mixture only. the boost bottle will lean the pilot, so if you are keeping it, you may want a 30 pilot, but get a 27.5 in case. set the needle at the top knotch (clip closest to the blunt end) and try that. the uneven plug readings needs to be adressed. it could be an air leak, clogged jet, choke tube, reed, etc..
  18. uld barely understand what the hell you said, but i think it could be 2 things. air leak, or sticky slides
  19. if you don't wanna tear it apart just to check, you can hook a test light between the red and green wires @ the cdi plug, and kick it. it should light bright
  20. your elevation is around 700ft. i'm guessin 40-50 degrees. i'd say 260-270. what are your compression numbers?
  21. um... your jetting is the main issue. they do seem to run ok lean, but destroying the pistons the whole time. what's your airfilter setup? stock with lid and snorkel? what's your elevation and temp? check your compression
  22. 28 or 30mm flatslides, what kind of port?
  23. i'm waiting untill i do the potty dance for needing more power. working on traction and suspension for now
  24. did you plug the voltage regulator in to a connector down the harness, close to the coolant bottle? blue and black are the tail, and if you have a brake light function, it plugs in at the front of the hand brake lever, directly below the resivior, and/or it will be at the foot brake, so check there. the 2 little wires (yellow/black & black) are the tors throttle switch, so leave them be. i believe allyears have the same type of regulator, so no confusion there
