My uncle has a 700 Raptor with a GYTR pipe and aftermarket filter and I raced him on the Banshee and seriously smoked him. We are both riders of equal skill so it was even in that aspect. I passed him in 3rd on a wheelie, I really don't think a 660 would stand a chance against you :thumbsup:

My elevation is approx. 900 feet above sea level. Air temp. right now is about 60 degrees. I thought it was weird too how I needed such big pilots when people with similar mods are running alot lower pilot jet sizes. However not many people I ride with here in Cincinnati ride banshees so I dont really have anyone to compare it with around my area. The needle is right in the middle. They are the stock needles from factory carbs. I just looked over everything for leaks or holes in the rubber intakes, and everything seems OK. Im almost positive all the rubber intakes going from the air box to the carbs and from the carbs to the cylinders are new. They were cracking a while back so ordered up new about ones a year ago. Maybe it is something with the ignition..it runs fine now though. From what I have read and researched on here 35 pilots do seem big for the things I have done?? Im supposed to go riding tomorrow so I will mess around with it a little and see if I can figure something out. Again, I appreciate the advice. You guys are a big help! Thanks, Pete

Hey I did exactly what you said. Pilots are at 32.5 and I moved the clip down 1 on the needle with air screws turned all the way in and it seems to be running perfect. I couldn't tell 100 percent because the street was slick and it kept spinning the back tires. But it seems to run great. My only question now is can I leave the air screws turned in all the way because its running great and I don't want to mess with it?

I posted about a problem with my banshee a few weeks ago and it still is acting up after ordering new jets and playing around with the carbs. So here is the problem. I had 320 Main jets, clip moved up one on the needle, and I had 32.5 Pilot jets with the air screw out 2 turns. Ran pretty good in the mid and top end but the banshee would fall flat on its face when trying to take off in the low end. So I turned the air screws in all the way and it actually started running better with the 32.5 pilots. Not too bad actually. So then I ordered 27.5 pilots and just put those in today and turned air screws out 2 whole turns. Banshee was having the same problem and kept falling flat on its face when trying to take off. I turned the air screws in all the way and it ran better. I dont know what to do because the only reason I tried the 27.5 and 32.5 pilots is because I had the stock pilots in (25's) and it ran like crap then too. The plugs were black when I had the 27.5 pilots in and the air screws 2 turns out. But when I had the 32.5 pilots and the air screws in all the way the plugs looked brown/tan color. They actually looked really good. What do you guys think the problem is? The banshee is in great condition, everything is fresh I just looked over the whole bike. Also is it bad to run the bike with the air screws IN all the way if the plugs look good? And oh yeah, my mods are in my signature, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction with this. Okay I will try seating the air screws and see what the Banshee does. I thought it may be something else also but everything is pretty much brand new on the bike. So this is why I think it has to be the jetting.

All a cool head will do is to help your banshee run a little cooler.If you're looking to make it a little faster I think you can get different size domes for the cool heads which makes the compression ratio go up, which can increase performance. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I had the stock pilots in and it still had a hard time getting off the start. It wasn't right in the low end with the stock 25 pilots. Thats why I was confused becasue I put the 32.5 in and it was running similar to when I had the stock 25 pilots in.

Slides are synced and the plugs are now reading the same. Im going to order the 27.5 pilots and see what that does. Thanks to everyone for the help. I apreciate it. Banshees are addicting when you get them running right haha

No actually I have not synced the carbs. They are brand new stock carbs with the TORS taken off. What do you need to do to sync them? I checked the reeds, choke tube and jets etc. etc. and everything looks fine. I will try the pilot jets you recommended and see what that does. Thanks for your help.

Yeah the washer is in both carbs. I was riding all day with the banshee and messing with the jetting. I have a 320 main, needle moved up 1 clip and I moved the pilot to a 32.5 and you have to rev it to high RPM's to get it to take off but once its high RPM's it runs almost perfect and absolutly screams. Why would it have a hard time getting off the start in the low end? It bogs untill it stalls when you go to take off. Is it too lean or too rich? like i mentioned the current pilot is a 32.5.

Yeah I had the 32.5 in it with 300 main jets and the needle in the middle and it was still not running right. Pulled the plugs with those settings and it looked rich so I might go with the 27.5 pilots and see what that does. The only thing I am still confused about is the air/ fuel mixture screw and how to adjust that and what it affects. Is there a certain number of turns out that the air screw should be at? Oh yeah my elevation is about 900 ft. running in temps around 65-85 F. Any other advice or input would be greatly appreciated.
