  2. k&n pods are best but if you ride through any water be careful
  3. dont go any bigger than 35w with a stock stator
  4. try a 27.5 or 30 pilot. 32.5 sounds too big.
  5. if you get a 4mill, get the long rod 4mill. less side load on the sleeves. you have to get 795 series pistons to accomadate for the long rod. you also need the stroker domes for the extra 2mm at tdc. a 10mill crank is a 10mm longer crank. 64mm instead of 54mm. and tell your builder that you want a 4mill dune port. :thumbsup:
  6. yeah the vapor has a tach. the ppr (pulses per revolution) has to be set at 2 because the plugs fire at tdc and bdc.

  8. i know watcha mean. tires aint selling very good for michelin either. they cut out our overtime in maintenance about 6 months ago, but the production guys havent seen ot for about 3yrs now! what kind of tires does your plant make? we make lt and suv tires.
  9. take your cyls to the local machine shop, ask em how much they need to be bored to clean em up, and buy wiseco pistons from jeff at f.a.s.t. no need for a bigger bore than needed because boring doesnt make much more power. get a chariot adjustable timing plate from ebay and advance it 4 degrees. porting is the best thing you can do for power but dont try to hack it yourself, call jeff. and welcome to the hq.

  11. welcome to the hq. what color are the plastics? i say maybe silver, silver vein, or black since chrome is out of the question.
  12. does the kickstarter rotate in and out easily? usually when the kickstarter rattles, its because the spring is worn out or the ball is wore down. but if yours is brand new, it should be in good shape. :shrug:

  15. if it has low compression you shouldnt need a new crank. the chariot adjustable stator plate on ebay is a good deal. 50 bucks and its billet. get a noss head also. noss is a site sponsor and uses stock studs. :thumbsup:
  16. get a tap extractor. it has 2 fingers that insert into the flutes. be careful tho, they will break too if its in a big enough bind.
  17. im an electrical maintenance technician at a michelin tire factory. they say im an electrician but if it breaks, i fix it whether its electrical or mechanical. i already had a 2 year degree in industrial electronics but they sent me back to school for electrcal, plc, and mechanical training. i got 2 more degrees from them so if i leave at least i got more paperwork sayin im smart.

WOW! i think you just invented a word (deuchebagness). :yelrotflmao: and to blaster2006, when i said to check the intakes, i was saying the intakes between the carbs and reeds, not the airbox. you said that it cant be an air leak because its intermittant but the leaks could get worse when the engine vibrates and opens and closes the cracks in the rubber. any air coming in to the engine past the carbs (intakes, reeds etc.) is unpredictable because its not metered by the carbs. check for leaks and clean the carbs. if you dont want to do these simple things then give the stealership your money or run it till you fry the pistons.
  19. 50/50 mix of 110 and 91 octane is fine for 163psi. as far as going richer on the main jet, youll never know until you do a plug chop. im not familiar with jetting 30mm carbs but im sure somebody on here can put you in the ballpark. what size jets are you runnin?
  20. have you checked for air leaks at the intakes? also didnt you say that the previous owner was mixing 20:1 and you just changed to 32:1? better do a plug chop cause if it was jetted spot on (which i doubt looking at the crazy things he did with it), and youre mixing 32:1 now, thats less lubrication. also how can you hear large amounts of air? what exactly does it sound like? is it the sound in the video?
  21. they may not sell em anymore but theyre gonna have a really tough time prying my hands of the grips of my shee! im a alabama redneck with lots of guns lol. im not sure that they can stop us from riding them tho.
  22. you cant go by youtube videos man. it could be a stock banshee vs a big bore stroker 450with head portwork or simply differences in rider skill in some of those vids. all i can say is just wait till you can get it shipped out west, then youll see for yourself. if yours has pipes, reeds, and k&n pods on it at least, you should own the 450s. welcome to the hq by the way and like 278 said start saving money cause theres some pretty sick shees around here. theyll make you sick! we all want to go faster. it just costs money.
