  1. ive had one for about 6 months now and i love it. no problems whatsoever and i dont use the resistor plugs. it was relatively easy to install also. i dont care for the standard mount that comes with the unit. some people like the billet mount by trailtech and some say that they cant see it when they have a bar pad. i have used the stock plastic mount but i recently made my own. ill try to post pics of it asap. also, motosport has the vapor for the same price plus free shipping.
  2. man that sucks!!! $166 to ship decals that weigh less than 1 pound. i would definately try to find something locally if i were you. i know that places like motosport offer free shipping on orders over $99 but not sure if that applies to intl orders.
  3. i went with maier carbon fiber radiator and gas tank cover in carbon fiber. its not actual cf but its acarbon fiber looking finish. idont know too many people with em. i think black would look nice also.
  4. hahaha! yeah those big noses on zillas make howard stern's nose look small!
  5. welcome to the hq corndiddly. very original name lol. :yelrotflmao:
  6. i would think that the lower rpm torque gained from the powervalve would be benefiecial in a drag race.
  7. i bought mine precut
  8. welcome to the hq
  9. welcome to the hq. what are your jetting problems?
  10. i just got done with it a little while ago. i replaced the plugs and ran it pretty hard for a few minutes and all is well. thanks for all the help guys!
  11. no theyre different. a JD grill is a must.
  12. what size screw is it? ive never fooled around with the shift star so i dont know but if its big enough i would dry to drill it with a left handed drill bit and use an easy out. if its small, id drill and tap it.
  13. theyre not any more flimsy than a stocker. i dont really like the grill in the maiers though. i need to get up with jd to get a custom one.
  14. yeah i was gonna do it today but i didnt get a chance to earlier. probably gonna do it tomorrow. will report back.
  15. welcome new HQer!
  16. well did you ever get em in?
  17. no. i just cleaned and oiled the filters, but i left the carbs uncovered for the 3 or 4 hours that i was cleaning/oiling them and waiting for them to dry.
  18. yeah keep the holes clean. i think i had to gargle salty water or something like that, idk its been a while. you better hope the meds kick in before the pain does! i woke up while they were still doing mine. ouch!!! :verymad:
  19. its not too bad to wire. for the temp gauge, you just cut your radiator hose and splice it back with the temp sensor from the kit. for the tach you just hook the wire to one of your plug wires. for the speedo you just mount the supplied bracket to one of your front wheels and mount the speed sensor to it. then hook up your ground and youre good to go. it has engine temp, ambient air temp, tach, speedometer, clock, hour meter, stop watch, odometer, trip odometer. plus you can set the LED warning lights for overtemp and redline and program shift LED.
  20. ive got the vapor too and highly recommend it. lots of other features and ive never had a problem with it.
  21. i bought my crank from rjatv, i think it was like $400. i bought my pistons, seals and gaskets from motosport. altogether total of the parts was like $600. it was the 4mill long rod hotrods crank with wiseco 795 pistons. it wasnt a huge difference in power due to the port timing being off because its not ported for the 4mill crank, but its a good platform to build on and its not that much more expensive than a stock stroke crank. i couldnt afford to port right away but i figured in the long run a ported 4mill would be better than a ported stocker.
  22. no i didnt have the slides out. probably just got dirt and trash in the carb from having the filter off. i didnt put anything over the pipes while i was cleaning/oiling the filters.
  23. if the kit comes with a spacer plate, you do not need to mill the head or have stroker domes. the spacer plate is what i am using until i get my jugs ported or get a cheetah or cub. ive had it for about 6 months now. no problems.
  24. i took my filters off today and its still not any better. i cant even get it started. it just pops backfires and blows gas out of the left silencer. i didnt have alot of time to mess with it today and i have to work the next two days but ill take the carbs off friday when im off. i thought that if it got dirt in the pilot or main jet it would be lean though. im definitely not a carb expert so im probably wrong.
  25. this was mine about 6 months ago
