to each his own i guess. ive never ridden bikes so ive always been used to thumb throttles. i guess if you grew up on bikes you might feel more comfortable with a twist. its just dangerous if youre not used to it.
what does the left plug look like? replace both plugs. also switch plug wires and see if the problem moves to the right cyl to rule out a spark problem.
no. the long rod's only function is to put less side load with the piston on the sleeve, making the engine more reliable. long rods are 5mm longer and are used with the wiseco 795 series pistons. you must buy a stroker crank to increase the stroke. if youre going with a 4mill stroker, you might as well get the long rod. cost is the same and it adds life to the engine.
i think aftermarket jugs, cases, and crank etc are fine and should still be considered a shee. with all the aftermarket parts available how can you blame someone for swapping inferior parts for stronger, faster parts?
those flames look pretty good 05special. hbomb used to make some bomb squad graphics that looked pretty good but theyre discontinued now . i was just about to order brand new white plastics just for these graphics but i called alba to get them and they told me they were no longer made :: . im just glad i didnt order the plastics first.
as long as it has a banshee motor and a banshee frame its still a shee. it can have aftermarket jugs, carbs, pipes, axle, a-arms, bars etc but its still gotta have the 2 stroke screaming twin and the frame imo.
you talkin about the cost of boring? just get them done at a local machine shop. i got mine done for $30 a jug. of course prices are different for different places but get it done locally so that you dont have to pay shipping.
boring usually costs between 50 and 75 bucks. pistons are between 150 and 200. oddball pistons would probably be more rare and more expensive. so in the end, itll probably cost the same either way. i would bore it and go with the .80 over pistons because then you have a fresh top end.
if your pistons say 65.92, you definately dont wanna go down to a 65.50. like Bansh-eman said, the next size is 66mm which is .80 over. get a micrometer and check the diameter of the cylinders (or get a machine shop to), get some pistons, give them to the shop and have them bore the jugs to match the pistons.
ive seen the post that i think you were trying to post the link to and yes the vitos pistons are made by wiseco (custom made to vitos specs) and they claim that using their pistons is like porting the jugs. i cant believe that they are anything comparable to porting, and i wouldnt say that you should go and change the jets right away. i would do a plug chop after re torqing the head nut each time after a few heat cycles.
