  1. if you want ot go faster get a 15 tooth front sprocket and/or some 22 inch tires
  2. i have a ratty old pair of exhaust clamps here.
  3. if the water was CLEAN i wouldn worry about it just let it run through, but if it was muddy i would probably tear it down and clean everything.
  4. that would be sweet. i wonder how much theyt would want for it. a lot of their prices on other stuff are pretty ridiculous so who knows
  5. carbs syncronized?
  6. i dont think its good to go past .080 thats what ive read on here.
  7. welll.... both times were my fault. the first time i had no shain guide on the back and the chain was real loose and it came off. the second time my carrier bearings were totally gone and i eas trying to limp it to somewhere i could get picked up from. the play in the carrier let the chain get real loose and also crooked so it came off again. luckily i was in first gear both times otherwise it could have been more serious damage.
  8. yo ucan go twice as fast if you use the twist throttle and the thumb throttle at the same time
  9. it seems to me that people with built up motors use the 9's to help keep the motor a little cooler
  10. my maxxis sur tracs wear really well. they dont hook up very good on hardpack, but in loose dirt they are sweet. they are 2 ply. i have a pair of kenda knarleys sittinfg in the shed until i find a nice peice of pavement to do a burnout on to finish the sur tracs, so no ride report yet.
  11. the exact same thing happened to mine too. i got it welded and smoothed out pretty good with a die grinder. you could hardly tell after. then it happened again :: so this time i think im just gonna leave it.
  12. i would just leave the gearing alone until you get the new tires, then decide from there.
  13. I should have said i am in canada in case that makes a difference. if its in good shape and the screws arent stripped or anything ill buy it. i just gotta get my paypal account finished first, assuming that you take paypal.

    timing plate

does anybody have an adjustable timing plate they want to get rid of?
  15. squish is how slose the piston comes to the head at TDC. you can check it by getting a peice of solder and making an L shape with it. then put it in the spark plug hole (dont drop it) so it hits the side of the cylinder. then turn the motor over with the kickstart and it will squish the solder and then measure how thick the solder is and thats your squish.
  16. thanks for the quick replies. its good to have this thing running again
  17. I have 22's front and back. I like thew extra ground clearance. For reference I am running 15/41 gearing
  18. I did three heat cycles with it and the coolant didnt drop at all, and then I rode it for about half an hour and it didnt get real hot or anything either so i guess its fine.
  19. my clymers says coolant capacity is 2.5 liters, but 1.5 filled it up for me. could there be an air pocket or something like that? if i had to guess i would say 1.5 liters is about right, but the manual says otherwise so i would appreciate if someone would let me know. thanks in advance
  20. im interested in the case saver if you still have it
  21. i had my quad apart for a while, and i had the fenders sitting upside down teetering on a peice of fire wood. Over time they will curve up, or down, or however you wanna look at it. i just put them back on today so im not sure how long it will last but it looks good for now.
  22. they were on the bike when i got it, so I cant really compare it to stock, but fmf sst's seem to be a pretty good all around pipe.
  23. whoaa it looks like a motocrosser so it probab;y isnt an issue, but what kinda top speed do you get outta that thing?
  24. ive never had the bottom end of the banshee apart but i wouldnt think it would matter. try using the shifter and if it goes through the gears then its probably in there right.
  25. just run the ssts with no silencers. i tried it the other day and wow is it loud
