ya pavement crashes definitly suck. i also agree with you guys that banshees are one of the hardest bikes to wheelie, other than a moped, not from lack of power, but the way it hits can be intimidating because it pulls the fron end up so quickly. I can wheelie the shee pretty good now, but nothing like my YZ. as for the road rash i know the pain you're feelin. stings eh

Any interest? this is a great bike. its been maintained very well, im the kind of guy that fixes things before they break. The bike needs nothing except one fork seal leaks a TINY amount of oil. If i ride it every day I add about 3 ml of oil a month. I was told not to attempt taking my forks apart is why i never did it and because its not really a problem I never bothered to take it in. Thats all thats wrong with it. The only reason I'm selling it is that I never ride it. I rebuilt it last summer and havent even had to fill up the gas yet. I just dont have time for it. I probably haven't even rode my banshee 10 times in the last 6 months.

all you guys who are defending hondas need to remember that this is a banshee site

all i've heard (and seen) from friends around here is that razr 2's wear real fast, faster than holeshots even. i've never tried either though so i have no personal experience with them. they hook up like crazy though. im thinking kenda narleys for my next set.

Whats the difference between the 450 arms and a set of aftermarket arms?
shee rips replied to cat's topic in Suspension
also i've done a couple mx races with my banshee and the stock suspension is ok if the track is groomed nicely and if you dont plan on doing any of the big gaps or racing competitively. i never attempted any gap jumps with the quad for fear of breaking it or myself, because if you screw up one big jump  ..... im sure many people on here know exactly what im talkin about. -

so 450 arms and shocks will bolt up with no other mods needed other than maybe brake lines?? also i've seen many bent yfz a arms from hitting rocks and trees and such  seems like stock banshees a arms are stronger if you are the kind of rider that crashes into things or rides agressively in the woods, but i guess thats not what they're made for. lol -
Im just curious if anyone has one or has ridden a sport quad with an independant rear end. it would probably be better in the snow and mud with more clearance but what about body roll and high speed corners? also is it independent off of a swingarm or do you need a new/modified frame?

no donuts on that thing , except maybe on ice. Center of gravity is way too high for normal riding :shoothead: like zboy said it would be great for bombing across the desert, but not much else.

im not too sure about for a banshee, but im sure its not much different than a bike. a no link setup is much harder to get a rising rate out of, relying more heavily on excellent shock valving. With a linkage system, say for the first inch of wheel travel the shock shaft will move 1/4 of an inch, but the last inch of wheel travel the shock shaft will move 1 inch. not sure on the numbers but thats how it works. like raguncajun said thats a lot of money. I'm sure it would be a big improvement, but, and i may be wrong here, I think for the same money there are other ways to get better performance. my .02

Just a quick Q for u 2 stroke gurus.
shee rips replied to floydfan_90's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I wouldnt, but thats just me. -
i guess ill probably get 22's all around then. i was thinking kenda knarleys. racing and making sacrifices to get a little extra speed arent worth it to me, not at this point anyway. my banshee is basically stock(pipes and filter) and i only drag once in a while down the road, basically just for bragging rights. that and like 2 motocross races a year, but again just goofing around and results dont matter that much.

60 psi on both cylinders? some thing is definitely wrong in the top end. 60 psi in both cylinders would most likely not run even if everything else was perfect edit - head gasket???? if its a brand new top endand both cylinders are the same compression that would be my guess, but what do i know just my .02

first thing i would get are pipes and a k&n air filter. then smoke off your tires and get some new ones because the stock tires suck

02 yz 125. ported, head modified, pro action suspension, twin air, ims pro series pegs. beats 250F's. :yelrotflmao: quick bike, ready to ride, needs nothing other than a graphics kit. i have all reciepts, over 1500$ in the last year. im asking 3200 for it im on vancouver island, bc i dont hreally have any good pictures right now tried to put an action shot but couldnt figure out how to post pictures

i dont think iv ever really hit anything underneath ither than retarded shit like stumps that the back definitly wouldnt make it over any way  i was just thinking for geometry reasons :geek:

My next Upgrade - I'm thinking Carbs
shee rips replied to jkross's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
you didnt say what exhaust your using. if its stock then that would be the first thing i would do.i like my fmf sst's, but they were on it when i bought the bike so i cant really compare it to before, but it is about the same as my friends banshee with fattys. after that i am in the same boat as you  -
i run sonic dynamix plus. it is tc-w3 qualified. http://www.rrcoop.com/product_pdfs/sonic%20dynamix.pdf it says "recommended for todays water cooled 2 cycle engines requiring tc-w3 qualifications, incdluding oil injected models". it is like 6$ a liter. it has a picture of a boat and a snomobile on it. iv been told that i shouldnt use it because of the price and the picture of a boat, that it burns at a different temp its all iv used in all my bikes since i started riding 12 years ago(age 6) without a problem if i switch to an expensive oil would i gain power?
-
k thats pretty much what i was thinking. money is an issue as im still in high shcool. maybe shave the head first or timing plate. i forgot to mention that i dont want to run race gas.
-
so i could just wire up say 10 leds in series and plug them in, and same for brake light, just off the other wire
-
should i just get my stock head shaved, or get a cool head. it is stock with sst's and k&n. it doesnt overheat. i was also thinking reeds, v force or boyesen? what about timing. stator plate or advance key, and how many degrees advance? thanks
-
if im running 22" rear tires would it be beneficial to go up two inches on the front (23") to get it back riding level, or for other reasons. oh and i would run 20s on the back but for most of my riding the extra clearance is nice. thanks
-
i heated the fender on my bike to get rid of the white creases, and it got hard and snapped off without even crashing. i may have been a bit exessive with the heat though lol propane torch
-
i thought you need some resistors or something like that to rig up leds???? if so what did you use
-
that carbon fiber looks sweet. i had a sobe can on my dirtbike but i took it off because it seemed like the reservior was getting a lot hotter than normal with it on. that was motocrossing though. on a banshee or for trail riding where the shock usually isnt worked as hard it may not be problem. i think im gonna try it on my shee. oh and when the reservior was getting hot on me (too hot too hold your hand more than half a second) it was 30+ degrees celsius outside :shoothead:

not sure what my jetting is, i have sst's and a k&n. it runs great at sea level and on almost every ride im up to 1000 feet and can hardly tell a difference in power output. ive had it up over 3000 feet with no problems either. here on vancouver island if i rejetted every 500 feet that would be a couple times on even a short ride. if ur plugs look good i wouldnt worry about it
