  1. just buy a new rod, all new bearings and a wiseco piston kit. that should have you rolling for under 400 bucks. i doubt the nikasil cylinder will need to be bored. i seized up my yz125 from holding it WOT in 5th for like 5 minutes going down the road and the rod was blue halfway up from where it seized to the crank. cylinder was fine  and go to school
  2. i havent been able to find any graphics that i like for my 03 with the yellow front fenders and the rest black. theres been a few but none that i absolutley love, so for now the only 2 stickers i have are one on the nose that says git er dun and one on the fender that says warning: vehicle capable of evading high speed pursuit. lol i had to have that one  i would paint the plastics, but i am running full fenders so i dont really want it to crack right away
  3. i dont think you know of all the boost bottle jokes yet  at least you know better than to waste your money on one though  edit: shving the head .020 is a good gain for the money. i have a timing plate on its way so we will see how that works. from what i hear it is also a good cheap mod.
  4. i cant say about the jetting, sounds ok but i have little experience with it. if you mean 98 octane then you will be fine at 150 psi and +4 timing
  5. alright sweet. ill just keep my receipt and then if they arent right i can take them back. thanks man
  6. if it locked up and there are peices of piston in the exhaust, i doubt that anything is wrong in the tranny. may have broke clutch plates from it locking up, but my guess is that a peice of that piston got in the crankcase and jammed it up. and iroost i like your idea for the clutch holding tool, bolting the plates together. good stuff
  7. you didnt mention it, but if there is a flat spot on the rim, it might be leaking from there. mine had a big flat spot and i hammered the rim out a bit and it stopped the leak
  8. ok thanks, i gotcha is there a way i can test them to know how many watts they are, or where would i look? these lights are kinda cool looking and for 50 bucks i figured i would give them a try if they will work with the stock stator.
  9. i thought it was that the trail techs use the mr 11s, which i figured would mean theese are also 35 watts. it says on the box that those bulbs are in them.
  10. i was at canadian tire today and saw some little cool looking driving lights and thought of the banshee. they dont say the wattage but they have mr 11 halogen bulbs. i think they are the same bulbs that are in the 35 watt trail tech lights, but if someone could confirm that it would be great.
  11. i know on my 125 it paid off to buy good stuff. i had a renthal whatever they call it superlite thing. it was so light it was crazy. it also cost 150 bucks. that with a DID x ring chain and the best front sprocket renthal had. it was a 300 dollar drive setup, but when i sold the bike it had a solid year of riding on it, and they looked almost brand new. a lot of the riding was in shitty conditions like mud and water or soft berms and ruts so i was quite surprised for an aluminum sprocket
  12. haha i did that same spark plug rebuild and found that the muffler bearing from a 93 toyota bronco adds 19.327 hp over the 4.7 from the plug rebuild  make sure you check the headlight fluid often though
  13. many machine shops, and most automotive kind of shops could bore them for you. probbaly for cheap too. i havent heard anything special about vitos:shrug:
  14. if that deal falls through ill buy the set off you
  15. i was gonna buy a timing plate from that guy, but i did a little research and very quickly found several other stories like this one so i decided agains it. same price as i can get one from ricky stator anyways :shoothead:
  16. how much for th ebelly plate and possibly the a arm skids shipped to v9y 8w9 canada? that is if your interested in even shipping them up here
  17. man i need to start buying bikes from south of the border and selling them here. i bet you could get 2500, 2000 like nothin over here (out on the west coast of bc, canada) for that bike, assuming its all good.
  18. i was all in to the motocross and all that, and then i rode my friends banshee, and i was hooked. i bought myself one, but kept my bike thinking that i would still want to ride it. about 8 months later i hadnt even put a full tank of gas through it so i decided to get rid of it and traded it for a truck.
  19. lazy ass 4 stroke things?? the seats on those things are so hard its like a dirtbike. i dont find them comfortable for more than like 15 minutes to be honest. sure the suspension is better and you dont feel the bumps as much but still. the riding position on a banshee is one thing i really like about it. the big soft couch, and the bars are at a comfortable height so you dont have to reach down to them.
  20. get one of those cheap tachs that wrap around your spark plug wire and see how high it revs
  21. i would mill the stock head rather than a cool head, and i wouldnt piss around with a degreee key, just get the plate. the way i see it your paying more for a key thats partly sheared and should be replaced and enjoy it while you can, i used to dump every penny into racing my dirtbike, but as soon as i started to drive i had to decide what was more important because i couldnt afford to do both. have fun, your bike will be sweet when its done
  22. cheers
  23. mine was acting up and all i did was unplug the black box above the left cylinder
  24. wow thanks for that. i knew some of that but never really the theory behind it. good job
