  1. does it have any burs on it or protruding over the edge of the cylinder? if not you are probly safe running it. Althogh I'm a TOTAL perfectionist so i would have it fixed just because it kills me to have stuff like that lol... you can probly get some epoxy and smooth it with t hone but im not to sure how the epoxy would hold up in the actual cylider with the ignition of the fule and the hot exhaust gases. might call a few builder and see what they think
  2. your not going to get a very good ride dropping it that much. thats assumming you have that much play in the shock to take up
  3. how big of a "ding" are we talking about?
  4. dome are the part of the head where your air/fuel gets compressed for your power stroke (which is everytime your piston comes to the top on a 2 stroke) you can change the actual dome to be bigger or smaller depending on what gas your looking to run and how much bottom end your trying to get. By bumping your compression (running a smaller dome) you will gain power on the bottom end of your powerband. How ever the more comp the higher octane you need to run. If you have a coolhead then swaping domes is simple. if you have a stock head you cant swap anything. as far as porting there is three things that need to all be working together. Your intake (carbs) your porting and your exhaust (pipes) if any one of these does not complement either of the other two your losing power. Depending on the type of riding will determine what carbs porting and pipes you should be running. Try poking around the site for a few days and dig up some old post. Pretty much every single thing you need to now being new to the banshee has been aske and answered.
  5. yup, you could make it fit but the ass would be WAY up in the air

  7. you can either run spacers to move them back or sell your intake and buy a Boss, Mod Quad,or White Knuckle Racing Billet intake. They are all pretty much the same thing and will move the carbs up and away from the level while also getting rid of the crossover tube.
  8. for stock ride height you need 13.5
  9. yes the stock curves do not drop the advance as much as desired however you can program them to be tailored to your likings. There is no issue with running both the plate and the cdi.
  10. no it doesnt eliminate the plate, i run both. the plate is a static advance doent go up or down with the curve, where the dyna adjusts the advance though the rpm range... i run mine at _4 on the plate and curve 3 for the most advanced at low rpms
  11. its more then family friendly. i just took my 4 month old out with us for the first time on Pres weekend. the washes and camps are fine, its going to comp or olds when it gets insane and not safe for the little ones. Just dont park at the first 7 or so washes, go farther down the traqcks and you wont have as many poeple in the camp also you wont have as much dust to worry about. The store sells pretty much anything you could need or want but keep in mind they dont have the best prices by any means. also if your out around the time our season is Oct - May there are TONS of vendors out there that sell food, shirts, wood, gas, parts you name it. You would have a great time, Also there are plenty of smaller dunes near all the washes that are perfect for kidos. Its really not as bad as people make it out to be. Many years ago it was rediculose how bad t was. You had all the mexican gangs shooting at people and digging pits to make people crash so they could steal your crap. now there are so many rangers and sherrifs out there most of the thugs went elsewhere
  12. not so sure that is correct wesw. thats one of the benifits of the programable cdi is that is advances your timing at low rpms and then backs it off into the peak. On curve 3 at max advance i want to say it goes up to like 23 degrees. and backs down to aroud 9? but i cant remember if those numbers are correct. i used to have the info on the standard curves. although i would agree 100% once you get it on a dyno and get some customized settings thats when it will really shine. you just cant get a perfect curve from the factory that will fit everyones setup. they are expensive and nice but not a most have. you will notice alot of drag racers use stock cdi's
  13. stock banshee length is 14.5 so if you want to lower them you will need shorter then 14.5 not sure how much would make it sit level, you might try asking on PS
  14. 14/41 is a good all around gearing
  15. o rings are hard to clean, you cant use solvents or pressure washers without messing them up. your best bet is to just use a rag and try to wipe down any grease and grim that has collected and re oil it. on non orings you can put them in a diesel prts cleaner and then scrub the balls out of them. once they are clean let them soak in atf and wipe them down. we did that when we raced. and a chain would last for ever
  16. i havent rode my bike with alky but i used to race and thats what we ran. to be honest the differance from alky to race gas isnt a ton of power that your going to feel. you should be fine running it as far as useable power, the main concern is the distance your able to go. Also the motor will run cooler so it helps against over heating in tight trails where theres not much air flow.
  17. yea i think he just wants the contact info to Dave Moore Racing.... if your talking about the Delron bushing in the j arms they should be standard bushings. although it is possiblte that DMR makes them a differant size so you have to get his
  18. false!! you want to grease the puller!! its ruin a 15 dollar puller or ruin a 100 dollar flywheel. put a tiny amount of grease on the threads and a tiny amount on the point that contacts the end of the crank.
  19. go buy your self some napa degreaser, theshee used it on his wifes motor and it was insane how much shit it took off. sparyed it on and let it sit for 10 mins then washed it off, it was like he did a diesel hotwash on it
  20. your gap depends on the type of piston and the size of the bore. if your using wiesco prolites on a stock bore it calls for .010 - .012 gap
  21. i will still be running Shearers, I'm just buying a set that are show chrome. It would have cost me more to have these redone in show chrome vice selling them and buying new ones
  22. get the one from sears, i wan to say they are like 20 bucks but they are alot more sturdy then harbor frieght
  23. if i had 10 grand to throw at my bike i wouldnt be throwing it at my bike, id be paying off some bills lol
  24. Awsome buyer. Put my pipes for sale and he told me a few mins later he wanted them. less then an hour later i had money waiting in my paypal account. Would do business again without a doubt
  25. an unported cub would be like having a big bore drag port. if thats not what he is going for then it wouldnt be worth it. all topend and no low. but if your looking for a drag bike its hands down the way to do it
