TORS is throttle over ride system, it cuts the rpm if the thumb throttle is closed and the slide is open, it also cuts rpm if you exceed a certin angle, or leave the parking brake on. If you have replaced the carb tops, the tors is gone, but you will have to install an idle kit, you can also unplug the tors box, it is above the left cylinder.

no thats a snap guage, when the "T" is expanded and re-locked, then you measure it with a micrometer. Our you can use a dial bore guage, but it has to be set up on a micrometer base first to be set for bore dia. then you can measure the runout or taper in the bore. Any automotive machine shop will have one.

watch for spoting on the plugs, pinging. Pinging is what you have to listen for, the name is missleading, it sounds more like rocks in a coffee can. Pinging is also called detonation or preignition, it's when the fuel is burned before the plug fires due to increased cylinder temps, higher octane helps slow the combustion proccess. I can't see the whole unbalanced air thing from pod filters, remember there is a balance tube right behind the carbs. The engine is broken in within the first 10 minutes when the rings seat to the cylinder wall, don't be affraid to beat on it...seriously. welcome to the HQ :beer:

the lonestar frame uses mostly honda component up front, I belive the frames are in the 4000$ range, I don't know how hard core your gonna go on this MX bike, but maybee look into the Sundahl frame, it's super crazy and unique and about the same money.
