  1. Dont even bother with your old cylinders and wait for the cheata cubs. They will be somewhat near the price of porting but way more power.
  2. where you at
  3. the alum frame cr500 is the sweetest bike I have ever rode. Man I had to change my pants after that ride.
  4. Your set up has a lot to do with the right tires for you. First of all 20-10-10 tires really dont hook up that well and never will maybe uless you get a -2 swing arm. Also your weight has to do a lot with how many paddles you get and the moister in the sand as well. If you get tall tires such as the 21 or 22 inch tires they themselves will give you more grip and float better. You should consider atleast 21 inch tires or 22 if you want to drag a lot but you will have to lean a little more in the turns with those but I dont mind at all. What is your set up now such as swing arm length and weight and where do you ride. The cheapest prices I have seen is jimsandtoys.com. Scat trak is the lightest so dont bother with any others. You just need to get the right size tire for you.
  5. The only thing with the asv levers is that the pointed piece will hit the switches for the headlights. I had to move the switch on the right side of the clutch perch and its kind of hard to reach.
  6. ya that thing weighs an 1oz thats a rip on shipping.
  7. I longer your swing arm is the more paddles you are going to need because of the less traction. Call jimsandtoys.com and see what he recomends. He has good prices and a lot of people recomend him. Remember to get bead to bead buff style or they will look like shit.
  8. I have jd performance arms too and they are quality work.
  9. Im with fixrod, forget what the book and the dipstick says and just put 2 quarts back in it.
  10. If it leaks out the right side only then the crank seal is bad and needs to be fixed before your next ride. The bearing can get loose when the seal goes bad so be carefull.
  11. I basically gear my quad for glamis so that I can pull 5th up olds on the middle of it. The right side of olds will pull 4th. Usually when I get this down then duning is perfect but sometimes could use one tooth smaller on the rear for pulling long wheelies over the up and overs. Gearing is different for everone because of weight, tires, swing arm length, horse power. When I first bought my quad with just t-5's and some 20-10-10 10 paddles extreme haulers I rode with stock gearing and could only pull I think 3rd to 4th but forth would bog. I then put on a 13 up front and it helped out a lot but I really dont remember too well because that was like 5 years ago.
  12. Boonman had some done by mcmaster carr. I am going to get some done soon and I now have a friend that works there high up so maybe he can swing some deals.
  13. If your going to get a lonestar one pm john safarian on planet sand.com because he gets the good deals. Other than that custom creations made me a awesome one and quicksand racing (azsandrat) just told you he knew something about welding so maybe you should call him up?
  14. You should really put in 2 quarts of oil in after an oil change because of the problem with the ball welding its self to the rod. Dont be afraid to overfill it. 2 quarts is insurance trust me.
  15. Take off the clutch cover and use the manual to check the position of the shift shaft. If it is not that then you might have bent a fork. The banshee shift shafts suck and bend and break. I have broken two of the lower part of the c shaped hook.
  16. Why dont you guys just post about things you actually use. Most people in here just talk about stuff they hear and their word means nothing at all. I have a sun star right now and it seems to be wearing pretty fast so I would not sugest sunstar. I have a regina gold chain and that is working very well. Bearly any stretch at all and you can get them in a 130 link for +6 - +8 swing arms.
  17. So does anyone have one of these plates? Can I just drill and tap the hole and be done just like the pro-design?
  18. I hear that sprocket specialties are good. Is that true
  19. use about 80 grit on the intake and transfers and just match up the sleeve to the cylinder. Polish the exhaust as shiny as you can get it.
  20. Ya that is good for about 2hp so it is well worth it. You could put on new crank bearings if you want too.
  21. Ya you will have to trim it to fit.
  22. Port magic. The number is (760) 244-8834. Call him and tell him what you are looking to do.
  23. Is the pro-design ez-drain plate just a plate with with a allen bolt in it? I would like to take my stock plate and do it myself if this is so.
  24. If you find someone that sells a lot of ngk plugs you can get them for about 6 bucks each.
  25. If you are ridding in glamis you can probably get away with +2-4. The most bang for your buck will be porting.
