  1. dont coat two stroke pipes.
  2. if you want torque your going to need a crank. 4 aint going to cut it. a 10mm will. Have you ever riden a quadzilla? Sounds like you would like one of those
  3. use two quarts of oil. Problem solved
  4. so what did James say what was up? Ya if trinity was never around the sport might not be as big as it is today. They do make some nice products. Its just the many people that work for them are not all perfect and no one is in the world.
  5. can you start it? If so I dont think it has 60psi
  6. I got about 90hp and mine shifts just fine. I dont use the clutch. Go with the 10mm. I have never heard of the reed problem either. If the hp is too much for you you can run big domes and run pump gas and set the timing at 0. It will be way more reliable that way too.
  7. ricky stator will replace it and then sell it on ebay......
  8. trinity is telling you that you need to port match your top case to the cylinders. This will give another 2ish hp but I cant see how it would make it run cooler unless the air in the crankcase is hot and the lip on the case is getting hot because of all the air running over it. You need to check out your cooling system and see how that is going. Are you running enough oil also? How about an air leak. I would check that too. That would cause high jetting
  9. if your going to go 7mm then you should go 10mm. Its the same price for 3mm more........
  10. You can pretty much use any oil in the tranny as long as it does not have friction modifiers in it. I have never heard of anyone having a problem with their tranny with plain old oil or atf type f. As far as oil for the gas I run 927 but when that runs out im going to wall mart and im going to run their brand whatever it is and buy it by the gallon. Im going to run it at 24-1 and see how that does. I have heard of other people doing this and im tired of paying 20 or so bucks for only 64oz of 927. Im going to use atf type f also wall mart brand. Im just sick of paying so much for stupid oils. Its all advertisements and hype or im crazy
  11. more porting would be the most hp. Do you have a degree wheel? Do you know how to take off the head and general stuff like that? You need to see what your port numbers are. Once you figure that out then you can see what you got and go from there on the whole set up. Sounds like you have a good looking bike now you just need it to match the looks with performance.
  12. If you are going for a quality ride then go one inch bigger in the front. If weight matters and you are straight line racing then go for the lightest tire you can manage to ride on.
  13. I have a 7mm stock cylinders. Run a stock base gasket size and set your port timmings from there. You have to use a stock base gasket and run the piston out of the cylinder or your transfer port timmings will be way too high. Also you must run 795 pistons. Mine runs great. PM me if you need a great, cheap builder who can do a two week turn around time.
  14. take them off and have him cut them more. Unless if you dont mind running 110
  15. you can get the 10mm and run low compression and stock timing to mellow it out if its too much for you. I would go with the 10. 4mm is not that much bigger than stock and 400 bucks for 5% increase in power is not worth it to me. Really being that you are new to the sport you should just get your stock cylinders ported and see how you like that. Its not going to be as fast as a 200hp super bike but if you really wanted something like that you would have bought a cr500.
  16. for t-5s try a 189-192 exhaust durration with a 126-128 transfer. The higher the number the more power it will produce. Call around and see who you like. Talk to them and see what numbers they are going to use. If they dont tell you then I would be worried. Anyone could check their own number really easly so its not going to be a sercret when the cylinders come back to you.
  17. I have always used two quarts after talking to rudy kurtz. This way you will not weld up your ball.
  18. I have a brand new one for sale. I think it was k&t that lightens the rs ones to the same as the stock ones. I have never used this one. I just dont need it because I dont use lights anymore.
  19. you dont have to run 795 pistons. You could run a spacer plate but runing the 795 pistons is the best way to do it. No one runs the spacer plate anymore. Also if you have ever had your cylinder ported you can not run a 4mm crank with them.
  20. What pipes are you going to run with it? The porting all depends on the pipes. Find a builder who will tell you the port numbers they are going to use and are open with it. I use kevin herr at herrjugsracing.com If you are going to change the pipes eventually you need to do that before you port it or have it ported for those pipes you are going to run. Ask them about the transfer work also. Most builders dont want to do them because they are the hardest to do and take a lot of time but the rewards are great. The banshee has very small ones. Get the top case matched to the cylinder.
  21. dont bother with the 7mm when the 10mm is the same cost. You might want to wait and see how the new twister billet cylinders come out too after builders get the out comes. They accept a 76mm piston which is way bigger than the 68 of the cubs.
  22. mix it up. I run at sea level 185 comp with =7 timming mixed to get around 104ish. You could probably mix it to get 101ish
  23. ask this question over at planetsand.com there are a couple guys that know these lt250s
  24. if I remember right you just have to buy a junk set up off ebay and take it off of that one.
  25. you might want to go the other way with a 16 42 so you wont blow your tires off. Where they bogging or blowing off?
