  1. Good job reas!!!
  2. My shee liked 300 mains, needle 5th clip from the blunt end, and stock pilots.....
  3. I agree w/ sredish.. raise that needle...
  4. Try raising the needles and lowering the pilots..do one at a time though..
  5. Raise the needle and lower the pilot..
  6. check your compression...low compression will make starting hard..
  7. I'm still working out my bugs in mine....so far I have less low end power, but its insane once the powerband kicks in....Not what I was looking for....Do a lot of research...For tight trails, I'd stick w/ the stock crank...If you ride fast wide open areas, then go for it.....the stroker has insane pull for upper gears...you have to go up 2 teeth in the front sprocket to calm it down...
  8. Oh ya, who's going to PA in June??? Coalfest?? I'm going....
  9. People just aren't putting the money into the 2-strokes. Its not that they can't beat the 4-strokes, its just that the 4-strokes are built right from the factory...There will be some seriously fast quads this summer.....
  10. I was going to try that Rod. I talked to my builder about it and he said NOT to do it...He said v-force told him to only run them on high tension....He didn't know the reasoning, but thats what they told him.....Said it was a banshee thing...
  11. Get a flywheel puller for $10 bucks, you'll need one....A rubber strap wrench for like oil filters come in handy to stop the motor from turning...or if you have impact guns, that helps.....Other than that, its all common wrenches...
  12. oops.....good call.. I didn't reread the post...Good job!
  13. sredish is right on...trial and error. we can only get you close and its up to you to fine tune it to YOUR shee....run it wide open and pull the plugs, that'll tell all...too rich and you'll lose hp, to lean and you'll lose hp...find the sweet spot by reading your plugs....BTW, whos faster??
  14. After running it wide open in 6th gear for 5-10 seconds and shutting it down quickly??
  15. I would be careful about recommending that low of a main....You'll feel sorry if he blows his motor up because of lean jetting......I rode in California and had to bump up my jetting 5 sizes on the mains...Both areas are at sea level...
  16. I tried bored stockers on my shee w/ the mods below..I lost 2hp across the whole curve, but that was w/ no porting....the stock carbs are perfect for no porting...Bored or larger carbs benefit once you port it...
  17. I don't recommend 3rd gear runs at all....Your readings will lean out when you hit 6th gear....guaranteed...
  18. hahahhahaha.....I've never seen a stock shee run 52hp stock...no wonder they get 80hp from a ported shee, w/ 38mm carbs.....The curve is pretty shitty to. They can have it...the pipes w/o porting don't impress me on that graph...I went from 37hp to 53hp w/ my mods below w/ a hell of a lot better curve....
  19. It should kill the motor or flood it out...
  20. Its obviously a stuck slide. If it was an air leak, then the problem would persist w/ the stock carbs as well....maybe your cable is pulled out the top of the carb or the sleeve where the cable goes into the thumb throttle....
  21. TORS......throttle over ride system......safety device that stops a sticking throttle and retards timing to stop overrevving when off the throttle. It'll often times fail causing poor spark or retarded timing leaving you to hours of problem solving..... I disconnect mine asap from past experience of them failing, not worth the trouble...The main brain is located just above the left exhaust. There is no performance gain either way....
  22. Either that or your clutch is slipping in 5th gear and when you shift into 6th, the clutch catches up and lower the rpms too low so you have no power....on the street, there is no resistance, but the dirt has a lot of resistance and makes it hard to tell if the clutch is slipping or not...If not, then it could very well be that your jetting can be one or two sizes off like Fixitrod stated or your over geared, what size tires are you running w/ what size sprockets??
  23. Agreed, just lower the needle and go from there..the pilot won't control mid-throttle range. A rich needle will make a shee run extremely shitty and not want to even kick into powerband......Try the 3 clip, if that doesn't cure it all, then go to the 2nd clip from the top....
  24. But you shouldn't ever give it gas when starting cold. It should start up w/ no throttle and just choke...even if it takes a few kicks, it should still start right up...once it starts, I play w/ the choke. I'll shut it off, if my shee tends to want to stall, then I give it a little choke for a second or two and it'll rev back up...either your choke isn't working or you have plug pilots or shit in the carb bowls....
  25. The carbs are still the same....
