  1. haha no, not really.. i understand the concept of the slingshot, but i see the issue being with the balls and the ramp.. as the clutch spins, the balls are forced UP the ramp, which is also forcing the balls AWAY from the clutch. it seems like the balls should be forced TOWARDS the clutch. ive never seen the slingshot in person so maybe im missing something. maybe there is a part there that i cant see in the picture.
  2. i replace chain and sprockets every year. my 10mm cub tears them up pretty good. id say its time to replace yours. you can buy reasonably priced primary drive sprockets and d.i.d chain from rmatv. alf44 here on hq is a dealer. hit him up and see what he can do.
  3. i dont need a lockup, but i do a lot of reading on the internet and sometimes i get to thinking about how shit works.. so i look up the slingshot and begin to wonder, just how the hell does this thing work? i understand the concept of the lockup quite well. on the direct drive lockup, as the clutch spins, the arms flip outward and onto the pressure plate. the faster the clutch spins, the harder the arms press on the pressure plate.. i understand this concept and how it helps to hold the clutch.. however, i find myself questioning how the slingshot works.. ive seen the pics. i see the balls. once the clutch spins, the balls are forced outward and seemingly away from the clutch towards the cover itself, judging by the picture. how does this help to hold the clutch? it seems to me that youre just adding more spinning weight to the clutch itself, instead of actually having that weight holding the clutch.. now, if the balls were forced outward and in toward the clutch, i can see how that would possibly help, but still cant imagine its nearly as effective as the arms on the direct drive lockup. discuss..
  4. anyone know where i can snag a set of those factory yellow plastics for a reasonable price?
  5. nice.. looks like it works pretty well.
  6. i thought kimbo looked much improved last night. he actually showed some awesome takedowns and ground game. at one point, he almost sunk in a rear naked choke. with more ground training at ATT, he will become more aware of what to do on the ground. i think the guy is pretty fuckin cool. i doubt he will ever make a big splash at lhw or hw, but hes fun to watch and listen to. hes a nice guy and i wish him the best of luck. im glad he got the win last night. im interested in seeing him against some of the lhw. he will be HUGE at 205. with a little more ground work and cardio, he will be pretty decent.
  7. lookin good man. nice parts.
  8. so, youre buddies with NYUK? well sorry, youre not welcome here... juuuuust messin with ya! haha. NYUK is a long time upstanding member. youre pretty lucky to have such a good guy around you with his knowledge of banshees. welcome to HQ
  9. awesome setups.. if i was in the dunes all the time, id have one of these.
  10. i like the ac pro pegs with stainless peg.
  11. do it. black wheels look good. i like that yellow factory plastic. shit looks good.
  12. lookin good man. youre more patient than i am for sure.
  13. yes and because it is junk. if you think you might ever want bigger carbs, save your money and just buy bigger carbs.
  14. sounds like you want drag porting or a cub set up. the porting is done in the cylinders.
  15. i agree with this. no need to take all the clutch stuff apart.
  16. i can say ive never seen an a arm set up like that on the bottom before. i searched around on google and couldnt find anything. sit tight, someone here will know what they are.
  17. my opinion is to stick with two carbs. keihin 30mm pwk for your set up.
  18. stick with dual carbs. id run keihin 30mm pwk.
  19. as soon as you put a lockout on your bike its gonna make it nearly impossible to shift in the higher RPM's. youll have to back way off the throttle and still pull in the clutch to get it to shift.
  20. i like dirty sluts.
  21. you need to do your homework before you start giving out information that is incorrect. a lockout DOES NOT replace the pressure plate. the actual lockout part itself bolts in on top of the pressure plate. if you put a lockout on your bike, say goodbye to shifting it. unless youre into the 70+ power range, you dont need a lockout. alf44 should be able to get you all that nic nac stuff from rmatv. if the pivot bolt is froze up, be prepared to destroy it getting it out. im sure NYUK has a few hundred of them laying around though.
  22. pull the cylinders and have them ported. that will be the best bang for your buck. you dont need a lockout either.
  23. youve got nothing on me. no need to be humble. i already know my stock yfz450 would eat your twist throttled banshee for breakfast.
  24. i thought id come back in and keep you busy, because with out me, you have no place in this thread. i like my chances against you on my stock yfz450. if you knew who you were talking to, youd know that i am not just a keyboard warrior. maybe you should do some homework on me before you address me again, especially with that nonsense. again, you look even more stupid now.
  25. i can see if they can do one with another fill color on that one. red? gray? its no guarantee, but ill see if they can do one different for me. i must have a bigger melon then. i wear a xl or xxl helmet. it gives me a headache when a hat or helmet is too tight. i could def wear the s/m but i think id be uncomfortable with how tight is it.
