sounds like a good deal bro. welcome to HQ also, just for a heads up, alf44 here on HQ is a rmatv dealer. he can get you anything you need from them at a little better price. dont hesitate to hit him up.
-
dlnoss will have them. the NOSS domes will fit in your PD head.

that is fucking badass.. i dont know where that is, but i definitely wanna ride there. i could ride around tearing that shit up all day.

at this last hillclimb this year, while my bike was torn apart, a buddy let me run his 10mm cub on alcohol. i am very used to my 10mm cub on gas that ive been riding for about 4 years now. i never went to alcohol because in the ama hillclimb series up north, alcohol is not allowed.. anyway, i jumped on his bike and there was a very noticeable difference in the way the bike ran. it was definitely way rich on the idle as it took a little to get it cleaned out before each run. once that bike was WOT, it took off like a rocket. and i thought my 10mm cub on gas was fast. that motor seemed to pull forever. granted he did have it geared way too low for me, since he outweighs me by 50 or 60 pounds, it still ran hard. all i can say is that if youre straight up dragging, go with the alcohol. purging isnt that big of a deal.

what are you babbling about? once the keihins or mikunis are close there is no need to mess with any of that stuff. ive been running PWK's for years now and never had a screw strip, a float hang up or had to worry about starving for fuel. day to day? maybe you shouldnt have jumped on ebay and bought the cheapest set of carbs you could find. maybe you should have bought them new. this is lame. day to day? please. i wonder what the ratio is of people who use keihins over lectrons. again, youre rambling. once you get ANY carb close, there is no need to buy anything for it ever again. with all the people out there that run keihins or mikunis, it is very simple to get your bike within one or two main sizes with a little help. dan at a&s runs 39mm pwk on most of his big motors, and we all know how well he does at the track. are you insinuating that he doesnt understand the lectrons, because he doesnt like them?
-
let me guess.. dead spot in the midrange? good luck.
-
everyone says the lectrons are so simple, but once you get your bike jetted in you dont need to fuck with it much using either carb. the support is definitely there with the keihins and we can probably get you jetted with in one or two main sizes of being spot on. i fucked around with the stupid needle on the lectron and ended up with 3 of them.. none of which ever worked properly. i couldnt get anyone to get the shit figured out. k&t built my motor and sent me the carb, yet couldnt offer me any real decent advice on what to run. i went back to running the 39mm pwk and it ran a ton better. i dont see the attraction to the lectrons, like i say, unless you need something 44mm and up.

coolant problem anyone have any ideas
locogato11283 replied to abanger's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
before you go tearing anything apart, i would suggest unhooking the rezzie from the radiator. then monitor the coolant level in the radiator to see if its going down or not. if its not going down, everything is fine. i personally dont even use a coolant bottle. never have and a lot of guys dont. -
i personally say to stick with keihins. ive had nothing but good luck with them and some of the fastest bikes in the country are running keihins. i ran a lectron years ago on my cr500 bike and that thing was the biggest piece of junk. the quality of the carb itself was shit and to top it all off they come with shitty hardware. the choke on mine would never stay up either. last time ill be using one of them. i think unless you are wanting to run a huge carb (44mm) and up, to just stick with a good set of dual keihin pwk.

you say that youre losing it from the rezzie, but have you checked your radiator to see if its going down there? it is normal for the rezzie to fill up and drain down, so i wouldnt use that as a guage to whether or not youre losing coolant. check the radiator and see if its staying full or not. also, yes it is possible for the coolant to be burned off in the cylinders. this usually means you have a bad head gasket or o-rings, depending on the type of head you have. -
ive been running the same set of elkas now for about 8 years. i bought them brand new and they were one of the best investments ive ever made. they make the bike ride totaly different. i also have +2/+1 arms as well. before you buy shocks, you really should go ahead and think about what front end you want to run. buy shocks for the correct length of a-arm. you can usually find some used elkas every now and then. be on the look out. i just bought a used rear elka in good shape for $400. by the way, welcome to HQ. dont be afraid to ask if you need anything.

mark(firehead) built that bike from the ground up. bigred doesnt have the know how to build a clean ass bike like that. why do you think weve never seen pictures of him replacing my 600rr motor in the craptor? i also believe that these pics were from when bigred just got this bike. i guarantee it doesnt look like that anymore. -

some pretty clean pipes here.. -
just timing? you might notice a little, but its not gonna be a night and day difference.
-
chances are youre gonna have to split the cases and replace that whole shaft. in most cases, you cant get the welded rod and ball out without destroying the gear shaft.
-
how old is your cable? might be time for a new one.

i really like the trailtech setups. i have them on my banshee and my yfz450.

man, i would def throw that picture up, but about 3 years ago i tossed about 30 of the things in the trash and ever since then i quit bothering to bring them home. they take up space and just get all dusty. some of the clubs have started giving out plaques that look pretty decent. i usually keep those. in 2009 alone: troy, kansas: 5 - 1st place, 1 -2nd, 1 - 3rd (2nd and 3rd were on others peoples bikes after mine blew up) iowa: 1st place (its an annual hillclimb, held once a year) minnesota: 3 - 1st place, 1 -2nd, 1 - 3rd (set a hill record in mankato, mn this year that stood for 2 months. no atv has ever held a hill record in minnesota) AMA National Hillclimb Championships - 2nd AMA District 23 Hillclimb series - 2nd Totals: 1st place - 9 2nd place - 4 3rd - 2
