  1. it is I who does the milling of the heads. Actualy, I grind them. Sometimes a mill can do funny things. I trust the grinder more.... Same outcome though..... I believe you already PM'ed me about it... And i replied. So when you get 'er back on, you should write up a little post about the big shit eatin' grin you will have on your face when you ride it!!!!
  2. I run 20-10-10 8 paddle xtreme haulers. I love them. I ran them in the winter, I beat on them in the parking lot, down the street, everywhere.... They still look brand new... Tough as nails. They hook awesome, and you can slide anytime you want..... I see no need for me to switch to a V paddle. Although some people swear by them.. And I don't know what the hay your talkin about, a 10" wheel is lighter than an 8" wheel, with the same diameter tire on it..... Your paddles may be flexing a little better, and the tire conforming to the terrain a litle better... but it's not lighter. For normal dune riding, I would go with the 10" wheel. For dragging, perhaps the smaller wheel would be better.....
  3. Sorry I hijacked your thread there. That was not my intention at all. I was merely trying to show how a couple bucks can make tings so much better for you in the snow. I rode my shee in the snow, and it was alright like said when theres not much of it. Or if it's packed. But when it gets deep, look out. You won't be moving anywhere. You need some good meats in the back, and drop the PSI a little to hopefully provide a little extra bite.....
  4. No misunderstandings at al Mcaf and Chase. I know exactly how you guys feel. Because I feel the same way!!! I don't want to see the site take a dump because of this either. All I am saying is that I have seen it work with the right people on other sites, and it doesn't work when you have the wrong people, like BT, and other places we won't mention. I hope that Lee will remove a Mod should him or her get the God complex. It's not fair to anyone else when that happens, and it only ruins the site. I think Lee knows what he's doing, and will watch for it... Putting someone in a position that affords some sort of "special powers" that be is bad enough. And when that person let's it go to their heads, and playing God, that's a VERY bad thing. It is my feeling that these tools available can be put to good use. There isn't much moderation that needs to be done on here. it is a self governed site primarily. So when people start doing stuff just for the helluvit, it will ruin it for everyone. I see the point there. I just hope it never comes to that. I hope everyone comes forward with there questions or comments on this matter right away, before they get mad for something they not be mad at right now....
  5. Please don't bore your bike unless you absolutely have to due to damage from a blown motor or something....
  6. Hooooooray Foxy. You've got it. And BTW, I hooked up your post there to fix it. Got everything quoted for ya. So it isn't so confusing..... And Meat, I never knew about the highlight and click. I usually just type it out. Not the whole quote, but you know, the beginning, and ending....... anyways....... Back to the soap opera....
  7. I do not feel good that you feel this way. it bothers me. I don't see things like that. I don't want to be labeled "superior". However, I do understand where Mcaf is coming from. "higher ups" shouldn't fraternize with the lower ranked people. There is very good reason for this. If you are hangin' out with the boss, and then when it comes time to lay the smack down at work, you take it on a personal level when you have a personal contact with the person outside of the workplace. (or military). Now, in here, on this forum, I hope that this is not the case. I do not feel "superior", or whatever in any sense. I will NOT. I refuse to let it happen. I Love the HQ. I love banshees. It will stay that way. Now, I can't speak for the other mods here, because I do not know what is going through their heads. I don't know how they are reacting to being selected as a mod. I know that speaking for myself here, I WILL NOT do any of the things that the "other people" do on the other shitty sites. I go to Bluetraxx about once every other month when I remember.... I have met a couple people from that site, that live in my area, and they were great people. We rode, it was fun. I have met a couple from this site too, from Michigan. Had a blast. We rode, drank, partied and had a helluva time. I would like to keep up the pace here. I would like to meet every person I can. I think 99.5% of the people on here are great. And I sincerely hope that once this hurdle is crossed that everyone will get along again. And not feel like they are being watched. And your concern Mcaf about posting non banshee things, you can rest assured that it will not be me deleting anything. I know plenty of people, and ride with plenty of people that have EX's and many different bikes. You see, that is the great thing about the HQ. you can come here and do whatever. Noone got mad at Lee for doing anything mod wise. In fact they asked him to alot of times. And now, with the addition of mods, you don't have to go to lee. there is the little report button, which my email box tells me works like it is supposed to. I had a bazillion reports about one thread, which has already been deleted. Now, if mods weren't here, that would not be possible. lee can't be here everyday. To tell you the truth, I was not enthused by the fact that my name was listed on the forum home page for the forums which i am a mod in. I would like to be more in the background. I don't like being labeled, "superior" because I do not feel that I am. I just thought i could help out once in awhile. Like when someone posts and they just can't get a pic to go in right, I could jump in their post, fix whatever errors they had going on, and then they could go back in, hit their edit button, and see how it was done. I see it hapen all the time on another site I visit frequently, which is ramchargercentral.com. They have a great thing going on over there. They have mods, and the site doesn't go downhill. Sometmes they move threads to the proper place, sometimes they get left alone if they aren't too bad. Noone is superior, and noone feels that way. They have even removed a couple mods who let it go to their head. And i hope that Lee would do the same. I will never have that problem, because I will not let it get to that point. there is no need. I love spending time here when I can, and I hope that people don't get crazy thoughts in their head and start to dislike me. If it gets to that point, I won't be a mod any longer. It is not worth the friendships and comradery we have strived so hard to achieve here. We will just have to see how this all plays out.
  8. I have to use ditches, or ramp it from the trailer onto the bed....
  9. And what pics they are!!! My good Lawd!!! And here are some shots of me and my wifey on our wedding day... And some of just lil' ol' me
  10. Well, it depends who you know. I have had well over 35 tickets in NYS in the last 8 years that I have been driving. i can tell you that you are in danger of losing your liscense. 30 MPH over the limit is not a good thing. That is provided you were in a 55 zone. 12 points, and you lose your liscense. It may even be 11 now. I don't know.. The one that I am most proud of getting out of is when I was on my ZX-7R with my buddy who was on his F3 honda. We both leave a light on the back wheel for a bit, (untill 3rd gear) and upon cresting the top of the hill, in the other lane is an officer going the other way. We were going about 70 in a 45. He turned around and flipped the lights on. We glance at each other, and drop a couple gears and rail on it. Splitting lanes, and running for all we were worth. (Not too much...) We got away, untill we were on a side street, and my buddy takes a turn on another side street and I didn't see him in time. So, I go past the street, and turn in the church parking lot, and go around back to connect with the side street. (We had ALOT of room between us and the cop by this time). Wel, my buddy sees me go in there, and he turns in there from the side street. We meet up in the bac, and decide that we are secluded from anywhere to be seen. So, we take off our helmets and wait. About 3 minutes go by, and all the sudden the cop comes flying in the lot, jumping the curb, hubcaps flying and motors on in to catch us. We had nowhere to go, (our helmets were off) so we sat there..... After listening to a 5 minute ass chewing session, he starts writing. Reckless driving, reckless endangerment, unsafe passing, speeding, evading, and disobeying traffic device. Well, he let us go on our own, (he didn't tow the bikes). I don't know why he didn't tow them, perhaps because we didn't bitch at him, we were honest, and didn't try to F with him. Well, it came time for court, and we went in, and got 2 points on our liscenses, and got whacked a $35 surcharge. No fine. Now, on most of my other tickets, I did not fare so well. I was seriously in danger of losing my liscense several times, and I have to this day 6 conviction stubs. I played them back and forth between traffic courts, so one wouldn't know about other previous violations. Dirty, but I did it. I went to traffic school, once a month for 6 months, I have gotten tickets on my way to traffic school, and on my way to traffic court. I have gotten tickets on my way to everywhere. Work, you name it. On the way home from snowmobiling trips, I have gotten away with being wasted and got pulled over, everything. I have also gotten busted for alot too. not bragging here, just stating the past. I now do not drive retardedly fast. I mostly watch where I am, and how fast I'm going. One thing, GET A RADAR DETECTOR. And most mportantly, LEARN how to use it. I have one. Best on the market IMHO. Passport 8500. www.radartest.com read up on it. This is the best darned thing I have ever had. but, you have to know how to use it too. and don't be going too fast so that if it does go off, and you know it's a cop, (remember, I said to learn how to use it) that you can't slow down in time. ost of all, be smart about it. There are ways out. Especially in NYS. I don't know your area, but yo may need to get a laywer. I have NEVER utilized a laywer in traffic court. but, I know how the system works. And you can take it to trial, instead of trying to plea bargain. if the cop didn't make any notes about the stop, you can get it thrown out. Think of this, were you a dick when he pulled you over? How long was he at the car for? how many people did you have with you? You were endangering the other people in the car too, so he may have made a note of that? When you go to court, you can ask questions about direction of travel, speed he got you for, how long he followed you, where he initially saw you commit the initial violation? Was it radar? Or Vascar? What was the weather? Where EXACTLY on the road were you? Things like that... let me know what you decide to do. And NEVER plea guilty. NEVER. Unless it is to a lesser charge...
  11. Proper knowledge and introduction to proper riding. With the machinery these days, it is imperative that people understand just what these machines are capable off. I have seen newcomers seriously F themselves up because they saw someone rail a 40' double, and they think, hey, I can do that. Well, it takes time. Practice makes perfect. Other than that, my man Wheaty has it covered pretty darned good.
  12. I would go. To Michigan that is. I didn't make it this year at all and I am not to happy about it. Hopefully next year I will have the drag shee done and out on the grudge track and maybe out to W. Mi. track.
  13. You got it!!! I just thought it would be funny. I didn't feel like listing mods out and what not, so I figured I would put something a tad bit comical in there. It has some secrets. Nothing major, and nothing that I wouldn't do for anyone else on this site. Except for the custom stem and other one-offs that I made in the shop..... They are too tough and time consuming to make for the general public. You guys brought a smile to my face when I read that, because y'all are the first people to have caught on!!!
  14. I think what you were driving at there is that you know that not many people visit the for sale forum as do visit the general forum. You see, I know people get aggravated when someone posts something in one forum, like for example, you are selling your bike, and you put it in the for sale forum. and then you think, hey, alot of people will see it in the general section, so you post it there too. That is a problem. Your forsale post belongs in the for sale section. I myself moved i think 2 threads. I am a mod, but I ain't advertising it too much. it takes alot to bother me. I saved all the info that Lee sent to the mods. And what it states that he needs/wants us to do. You see, this site is probably getting to be a handful for Lee, and he needed help. I myself have been on here for about 7 hours now. On and off, but mostly on. I read pretty much everything. the only thing that pisses me off is needless swearing, and being an ass. I have seen alot of it, and I PM'ed a couple people about it. No biggie. I edited one person's post once because of it, and on others, I more or less helped them out. With quoting, and using the functions available. I know about the Bluetraxx mods, and all the other sites that are now "shitty" for a lack of better words. I hope that the HQ doesn't turn into this. I don't know where you are finding this site turning into BT Nyuk, but I really hope you don't see it that way. I don't have a grudge against anyone, and I am not going to be a hated person. Let me ask you this, when you read a post in the repairs section, and then you go to the engine section, see the same post and think, hey, didn't I just read this? And then you cruise on over to the general section and see the same post. Are you getting annoyed yet? I sure as hell do. And then after all that, you go to the questions for shee performance shops and see the same friggin post AGAIN. This is why moderators need to be there.... If everyone (the mods) don't let it "get to their head" and start playing God, than things will be fine. If everyone respects the mods, and their decisions, than things will work and hopefully be better than before. And I would hope that lee would remove a moderator from his position who misuses his or her powers. This is a necessity. Basically, you abuse, you lose. The things, or powers if you want to call them that that Lee has entrusted us with, are not alot. Just simple means of organizing the site, and the ability to remove needless threads. Like outwar and what not.... I hope that y'all understand. I think of y'all as my Banshee bros, and sis' as I have noticed some female activity recently. Once again, I hope that the HQ doesn't go downhill because of it. I will be the first to resign should it be a problem. However, I do not see it as needing to come to that. Everyone should play nice. Please don't misunderstand me here. If you are mad at me right now, and thinking WTF is he talking about, please re-hash that thought. I am not trying to be a dick. and I will NOT be a hated person.
  15. I usually get all my stuff from www.mxsouth.com Jeff over there has got some sweet deals on everything!!! Excellent service as well..
  16. Funny thing about that is the UBRF.org or whatever is from My area. A guy that works here in the "art department", as a matter of fact, I think he is the supervisor up there is part of that "ring". He drives some zoom zoom Acura RSX or something. Funny thing is, that he won't line up against my S-10 blazer. I just can't figure it out...... That story is some funny stuff!!!! And true to a "t"...
  17. I detonated a piston due to improper squish, and a seperated crank. I didn't clean out the crank good enough, and shortly after rebuilding the motor, the crank let go. Catastrophic damage was the end result. I was not happy, and it cost me a bundle of loot in the long run. Be absolutely sure you clean everything out. And detonation can come from a few places, and once you get it back together, be sure to check your squish. And with your timing, and compession, I would be considering running at least a mix of race fuel....
  18. Is there a noise when the bike is sitting still, that gets louder when you rev it? if so, the problem is in the crankcase. I would pull the motor, and split the cases to see what's up. You may be surprised as to what you find.... Also, running it any longer, will further damage things. Hopefully you didn't screw up the cases, and you may be able to salvage them.... split the motor open, it doesn't take too long, and wll be worth the effort.....
  19. I run VP-C12. I don't like Aviation fuel. And I will not get into this debate when it heats up, I am just saying my peace. lol My feeling is that fuel is designed for different things. RON #'s is what most aviation fuel is rated on, it is designed for an aviation motor, and that is not what I want. I want a fuel that is designed for the purpose I am going to be using it for. Chemistry my dear Watson.
  20. I flipped my stock wheels on my '96. I drilled a 1/2" hole, 180 degrees from the original hole, and on the other side of the wheel. I then took the rim to my buddies tire shop, and threw that biotch on the tire changer. I pulled a short valve stem through the original hole, but backwards, so the valve stem is actually inside the rim and you only see the backside of the stem from the outside. In the new hole, I put a new stem in the proper way. I re-mounted the tire, and inflated. Went home, bolted them on the bike, and presto. Wide trac banshee, and for the $$$, I don't think you can beat it. I have noticed a slight more prone to bottoming from it, but I would rather have a wider stance. I ride mostly trails and what not.
  21. You can use a LFB, (Long F'ing Bar) to bend the subframe back into shape. if it isn't too bad, and isn't kinked...
  22. I was under the impression that flat slides yield more power, but you LOSE throttle response. With a round slide you have throttle response, but lose a slight amount of power.... I don't know. Someone please correct me if I am wrong..... And if possible, show proof. Call me "doubting Boony" or something. It's just what sticks in my head......
  23. DO NOT use plastic "nylock" style nuts. use only cotter pin "castle" style nuts. There is a reason for this. SAFETY. You do NOT want one of those nuts to come off while you are riding. It will ruin your day...
  24. An overflow tube flowing fuel out of it indicates that the float system in the carb bowl isn't operating properly. it can be one of 2 things. it can be stuck open with a piece of grit, or the rubber cone can be shot allowing fuel to leak past it's improper seal. I would pull the carbs off and inspect them and clean them thoroughly. This is a necessity on any ATV with a carb. They need to be clean in order to operate properly. As mentioned before, make sure you hve the slides in the correct carb. There is an angled cutaway portion of the slide, that MUSt FACE the air cleaner side of the carb. Also, there is a choke crossover tube, that runs inbetween the carbs. It is about 3" long, and it is a 6mm ID. You can get away with 1/4" line though. This must be in place, or the bike will run all sorts of funny. I would start with these things, and work from there.... Also, on the TORS, the box that you currently have unplugged, is the brain module for the system. If the bike shuts down when you plug this in, it means that it is getting a signal that it doesn't like from somewhere. This is where the sensors are located. in the thumb throttle housing, in the clutch lever, and on the carb tops. You can get a removal kit, that eliminates the carb tops, which can make jetting a pain in the arse.
  25. Yamaha part #'s are as follows: # 25- 260-14142-25 # 27.5- 260-14142-27 #30- 260-14142-30 #32.5- 260-14142-32 #35- 260-14142-35 I am running 27.5 in my bike right now, and I can let it idle all day long. Doesn't load up, and runs perfect....
