Alright. Your compression is low. Your bike should still run, but it doesn't. You NEED a rebuild. DO NOT sidestep this FACT. I have heard of of Stators being faulty and not providing a strong enough power to produce a good enough spark. As a matter of fact, LedOfTheZep I think had this problem.... Check the stator, and make sure it is within spec. I don't remember the correct resistance numbers on it, but the Clymer manual goes into detail on this. If you don't have a clymer maual, get one.......... It is invaluable. Don't sell the bike, or part it out or whatever. I understand you are frustrated, but this is a simple fix. In the end, you will be like Why in the hell didn't I do that earlier??? Your comppression is low, so you need to re-do the topend. You need to check the stator..... Check to be sure the timing is on.... idn't you just get a lightened flywheel from me and a shaved head??? Being that you have the shaved head and you are STILL that low, you have a problem.... SOmething you aren't telling here.. Did this problem come after you put the head and flywheel back on??? EDIT: I just remembered you said it ran one day, and didn't the next. This sounds like a stator. Or a CDI. Or, timing key..... What you think is a strong spark, and what the motor sees as a strong spark may be two different things. SOmething is not right here. All the advice in the world ain't gonna help you if you don't take any of it and act it out... You need a new top end. DOn't know how much I an stress that. ???? You're using a junk compression tester. Rubber push in testers are not good...... Check the things I mentioned in my last post. You need a perfectly timed GOOD spark, compression, and fuel...... How are your reeds?

Ship it to Jim at Passion Racing Engines..... Just ship your cylinders.... May have to wait a bit though........ it will be worth it...
-
be sure you don't get the cheapy top end kit without upper rod bearings.... Get the upper rod bearings... Your in there, might as wel replace them... Also, what did your reeds look like when you pulled them out? Did they seal correctly? Your rebuild will cost you at least $200. I pay my machine guy $35 a hole. He does a superb job. Haven't found anyone better..... When boring, take them to the machinist. Have them measure the bore, find out what bore your on, and then go to the next size up. Do not skip sizes. MEaning, if you are at .020" over, don't jump to .060" over. You won't gain any power, and it just wastes material for later "mishaps"... Sounds like you need a rebuild anyways. And, for future reference, you neeed to hold the throttle wide open. If you don't suck any air into the engine, how do you expect to compress any to get a reading? You are having trouble with it. It doesn't run.... You need 4 things to run on a two stroke. Fuel, compression, a perfectly timed spark, and an exhaust..... Sounds like you have at least two of those.... Fuel, and an exhaust. The timing and compression is what need attention.....

Don't forget to get 2 rubber plugs. You can't ddo one side at a time. You have to plug both sides.... Draw vacuum on the entire motor. you have more serious issues than just jetting. I am at 800' elevation, piped and what not, and I am running 310 mains.... Doesn't sound right that your on 310's with stock pipes..... You have bigger fish to fry.....
-
When you pulled the intakes, how did the reeds look? Sounds like you flooded it, and/or doesn't have the compression to start. Also, STOP USING STARTING FLUID ON A TWO STROKE. If you need to use starting fluid to get your bike to fire up, something is wrong. My guess is that you mentioned you have used starting fluid before. You prolly have low compression. Try pull starting it. but, you need to get a compression guage....... And your stator could be weak...

Thhe measurement sounds stock... I have always measured a stock head to be around .050"...... Which is about 1.269mm...

Ahhhhh, one of the selling points of the mower for sure!!!!!! Although it gets much too rough to be drinkin and ridin at the same time....... But I find the joystick, after you gt used to it, to be fantastic. it's wicked touchy at first, but after you relax, it's is sweet...... One hand action!!!!
-
That head sounds like stock. I don't know how your measuring..... But it sounds like stock measurement......

Whatsup Fellas. I Had One Hell Of A Weekend.
boonman replied to sredish's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Time for some liquid refreshment and re-runs on the tube....... Glad to hear you're in god spirits and on the road to recovery...... Just don't let it happen again!!! -
Scott, sorry bro for hearing of the occurrences this weekend. I KNOW you were stoked as all hell to be out at the dunes!!!! And hopefully you will be back up on the banshee. Lord knows we've all been there before. I've been to the hospital countless times, had a shitload of wipeouts. crashed cars, flipped down ravines in cars, end over end on the bike, watched people die on streetbikes in front of me... anyways... enough of that. I am pleased to hear that you didn't get any "severe" injuries. Don't take that the wrongway. When I say severe, I mean that someopne won't have to wipe your ass for you for the rest of your life, or you be eating out of a blender.... That is what I call "serious". Detrimental shit...... I full well understand the pain you're in, I've broken that shit before. I couldn't believe your wife posted about this. My wife didn't even know about this website untill tonight. how about that??? And as I sit here and explain to her who exactly you are Scott, she is rubbing my back with baby oil!!! Talk about a redneck!!! I got me some sun today. All crispy myself. Anyways, I thought I told ya to be careful with that lightned flywheel..... Get yourself a beer, relax, and you'll be set!!

Well, I picked up a Country Clipper Zeton. 60" deck, 25 pony Kohler Comand pro. SMOKIN' mower!!!!!! Un frickin believeable..... HERE is a link to the specs on this beast. Incredible performance. I have been mowing all day today...... Joystick steering is the shit.... Although my pocket is lighter to the tune of $7,500..... Oh well... I have a rippin' mower now......

Hey Dave, can you do an ATC 250R kicker???? It would be worth some $$ for ya if you would be interested??????
-
I painted my frame. Rust Oleum Hard hat OSHA safety yellow. (spray bomb). What can I say. We use the shit at work all the time on machines. We are an OEM machine builder. It is tough as nails. 3 coats. One coat of clear. Fuckin fantastic!!!!!
-
You did mine for me, and I haven't even taken it out of the package yet.... So, I guess it's been working fine!!!! Seriously though, I haven't even looked at it. it is on the kitchen table now. Getting ever closer to making onto the shee!!!!

Tranny Oil Is Overfilled And Grey
boonman replied to CoolRaptor2001's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
For coolant to enter the tranny, it has 2 routes to travel. One is the o-ring that goes around the tube that goes from the clutch cover/water pump housing and into the case, or through the water pump shaft seal...... I am guessing it is the first option. It happens more often than the water pump..... Although, if the water pump shaft was wore a little, some coolant could be squeaking by there..... -

I just checked Mapquest. I am on the other side of the state. It lists 7 hours drive time. Can't do that..... BUT, someone from NYC or even Connecticut may be able to hook you up..... HERE is a link to mapquest for Westbury.... It is on long island.... East of NYC... You may be able to type the guys name in a Google search and verify address that way....... -
Tranny Oil Is Overfilled And Grey
boonman replied to CoolRaptor2001's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
The reason it looks like it fills up overnight is because the oil settles back down in to the tranny. Whereas, when you're riding, the oil is all over the place, and would make it appear low........ -
That is some funny shit!!!!
-
I didn't buy it. (yet) I may do so though.... I wil have to see if i can snag one for a day or two.... I was a fan of twin stick, untill I fired up the joystick..... Words cannot explain the functionality of it.

Tranny Oil Is Overfilled And Grey

I am thinking along the lines of either the casenot being sealed properly, or cooolant leaking in there..... But you say you're not losing any coolant. Are you POSITIVE you're not losing any coolant? I don't want to piss you off, but sometimes people just say something and don't really check, and it ends up being that... (like the coolant thing). That is what it most likely sounds like. -
I am looking commercial grade. I got a Country Clipper Zeton 60" deck. Click HERE to peeeps this bad boy out. I have run Scags. Nice machine. This clipper runs like a scag. Fuckin "a" sweet!!! Even with a joystick control, you can counter-rotate like a mofo. Fuckin wicked mochine. I am gonna sell my Sabre 2354 (23 horse Kohler, 52" deck) and trade in the Snowmobile. If you have never seen one of these clippers, they are tough. Friggin 3/16" plate on the anti-scalp rollers. Deck is reinforced like a mofo. like none other I've seen. Unexplainable. Flip up deck as well. 2 pins on the back, lift the front of the mower, and it stands up for easy blade removal, cleaning, etc........ My tractor is a PITA to get out, and even more ridiculous to scraper or remove blades.... This one I'm lookin at is trick!!!
-
Hey. I know a few of y'all mow lawn. And a few of you do it for your own home..... I would like to know what y'all do it with..... How much you mow, and what make and model shit you use. I currently have a tractor, and I want to sell it to get a Z. Enlighten me oh masters of the landscapes........ Oh, I have about 3 acres of solid lawn at my house, and alot of trees. I want at least a 52" deck. I have been looking into a country clipper. Joystick control looks phat. I drove one and it was pimp. www.countryclipper.com
