Either way you cut it, tandem or single, or multiple, it has to be loaded properly. More weight on the rear than the front, spells disaster. Swaying all over hell will be the result. We have towed my 12' single axle landscaper at 90+ with 3 bikes, and all our gear and fuel. Worked fine. A little sway on lane changes, but you just had to be a little careful. With the tandem, high speed isn't a problem. As long as it's loaded properly. That's the key. Also, it may be cheaper to buy another trailer than re-build that one. It can get expensive......

If you have 2-3 axles on the trailer, It will be long enough that you shouldn't have to worry about axle drag when backing..... Even if you jacknife it... The 14' I towed this weekend was the smallest tandem I have hooked. it towed sweet.

Evil, shoulda waited a little longer...

I have been a slacker. Maybe I can snap some today......... -
You will SURELY crack the rear fender off. it does not beling in plastic. There is alot of force on the flag/whip. The grab bar is the only place to mount it.

Got back today. Anyone that was there, no doubt saw the Yell,ow Super Duty pimpin around. (untill he grenaded the front hubs, actually snapped both outer stub ends) and We had a blast. Untill I broke my shifter. (cheezy Yamaha welds... I need billet now!!) We had a blast. I met one more guy and his girlfriend. I got dusted and ate roost on the dragstrip by the beach, (because the other strip is still under water) I dumped the clutch, she stood up, I backed out, and ate sand... Oh well. Thats; what you get for running a -2.5 swingarm in the sand............

That truck looks sweet. And having owned/currently own both coil and leaf sprung vehicles, I can honestly say that my Super Duty rides good, but my Dodge rode better stock. But leafs are tough to beat rugged wise. Coils are fine, as long as it is matched with a good 4 or 5 link setup. Not a problem in the world. Now, sealed wheel bearing assemblies, that's where I get pissed!!!! -
How much weight do you plan to put on there. Being that this thing sounds like a 14' trailer, I would say that 2 axles would be the way to go. Going down the road, a twin axle will pull straighter, and handle the weight better. A single axle will float around, bob and weave and what not. Not all the time, save the flames guys. I have hauled alot of trailers. Tandems pull the best when loaded. I just got bsack from Silver Lake. Hauled a 14' tandem enclosed. 96 MPH is what my new truck maxes out at before the computer holds it back. I held it there for quite a ways. Trailer hauled perfect. At almost 100 MPH. I wouldn't attempt that with a single axle.....

Led, mod's cannot ban people. They can only modify posts in the forums in which they are delegated...... I WISH I could ban people. (only when needed, like in extreme situations such as this......) it would help.

Did we get the carbs cleaned yet?

It would do best to PM him. Not in a forum.

Man, you are really excited about Ricky!!!! Although, he has had some recent quality issues with his sstators. I got a good one from him about 2 years ago. 200W unit. Has worked beautifully with no flaws since I got it. I don't have his a-arms, but they look decent. They are good people over there...

Man oh man. My FMF fatties and PC II's fit AWESOME!! Perfect every time. Slide right on, no bitching, no cussin. Although, I did lose the rubber grommets, but I fashined up some business to fix that up. Oh, I also have no leaks at the exhaust port flange either? I have put new O-rings in though. Have you tried that? I don't know about old school shiz, but fatties have an o-ring in there.....

Have you checked the coil? do you have a Clymer manual (service manual) and a multimeter? click HERE for a WONDERFUL electrical guide to figuring out a banshee. It is from BenBB's site, he is a member here and is a helluva guy. If you gain knowledge from this, be sure to thank him. Also, be sure that all your kill switches are clean....

Well, when I blew my head gasket, I was building pressure in the cooling system like a mofo. I wanted to check to see if I had coolant, and after I did, I fired it up. (without the cap on) and I got blasted by a guiser of coolant. Kind of pissed me off.

I had a pimp ass pic, but my PC crashed. clickHERE for a pic of what I think you are trying to remove.

Grill technician/burger flipper. You can get ya one doown at the local Sonic............

The smoking more out of the right could indicate that you may have a crank seal leaking on the right side, as it would suck in transmission oil through the bad seal. I am more leaning towards the jet(s) being clogged and a possible air leak than a crank seal though. BUT, anything is possible. You could have all three problems??? I would clean the carbs first. Alot of problems stem from dirty carbs...

Don't go too heavy on the clear. it will just make it more prone to chipping. Thick paint chips easier. It's a fact of life..... I went with 2 coats on my bike. And 3 coats of paint. But, my primer was zinc green, and the yellow took some "business" to cover the green completely....

How does it run, other than spewing fuel out the pipe? Does one side smoke excesively? (mainly the right side) Are the slides in correctly? (the cutaway on the slide should be facing the air cleaner) keep in mind that the carb slides can be installed backwards in the wrong carb... You may have a pilot jet that is clogged. That is the reason for no idle? You may also have an air leak, which would explain high idling and what not, but you say you can get it to back down to normal, (or at least lower the revs) by unscrewing some adjustment out of it. Which leads me to believe that you have clogged pilot jets. And when you open the throttle, (by adjusting the cable at the throttle housing on the bars) you are then drawing off the main jet and jet needle which should make it rev high.... Think about this, whhen sitting with no load on the engine, the slightest amount of throttle application wil make the engine rev to the moon. It doesn't take much. BUT, under load, this is an insignificant amount..... You either have the slides installed backwards, or a clogged pilot jet.... Or both?? Is the small black choke crossover tube installed between the carbs?

Good luck brother CD!!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed. I have to wrench on the bike a little myself. (going to Silver Lake dunes tomorrow..) Maybe it will be a good day for wrenchin bikes.....

click HERE to see what pics I have. Also, you can go to Roostfest.com and check it out there I believe... (Thanks Walt!!!! )

You blew a colant hose off? THe only time I did that was when i blew a head gasket. Did you re-torquue everything down after heat cycles and riding? Just curious... ANyways, I don't know about the smacking sound. Could be a bad bearing in the lower end... Could be anything. I would guess bearing..... Idling shouldn't build up that much carbon. if it was, you would have fouled out long before that. how is the head gasket? Take the coolant cap off the radiator and start it. DO you get a faceful of coolant? If so, you have a blown head gasket.

Well, if you must have it, I can give you the 6' fiberglass......

Hopefully the floats won't stick after you clean the carbs?? That would suck!!!! I hate clanin carbs, I hate jetting. I flat out hate messin with my bike. I like to ride when I can. I have ben doing that for a while.. lol Like Benny said, if you don't have fuel on the plugs, there is a problem. I would think that with the amount of time you have been kicking it over, you should have an assload of fuel in there..... unless it's not getting any.... being the age of the machine and what not, the jets may be gummed up....
