  1. With the server upgrade, about the last month or so of posts and registers was lost. it was deemed to risky to upload on to the new server.
  2. I can't go new. So i don't have to worry about the '05 design change. And it's gonna be a 7.3. i can maybe get into a 6.0, but it would be an '03, and i don't want a first year 6.0. I may still go Dodge, because I simply love Dodges. And the Cummins engine. Several of my buddies have juiced up strokers, and the only people I know with dodge diesels, are running pretty sluggish. I don't know though. it's all a tossup. I'm going to look today. if I get a Dodge, it wll be an ext. cab. Unless I can find a wicked deal on an '03 Dodge crewie. But, the Dodge crew is still a joke. Ford cab is big. I like big.
  3. Yep, 20-40 $ for finding out..... You may be able to go to a police station, and ask the dispatcher to run it. See if they would. Or, talk to a cop. Tell them they had a hit and run. Or, grab the wife's car, and follow the person home from work....
  4. Well, the time has come. I blew a transmission line on the way home from work yesterday on the S-10. left me stranded, I got all pissed off, and Now I am selling all three of my vehicles. My Dodge, both S-10 blazers and I am getting a diesel pickup. I am making the jump to a Ford. I like their crew cab better than a Dodge. I also can't quite afford brand new, so it will have to be used. And in my price range, I can only afford an extended cab if I stayed Dodge. (Can't go '03 or newer) I wish I could have a Cummins with a Ford cab. But, oh well. Navistar makes a helluva motor. I am sure I will be happy. Also, this is going to happen next week. So, if anyone has any smokin deals in their area on a Crew cab long bed Ford stroker, lemme know. I will fly out and get it. It has to be worth it though.
  5. I just think it is ridiculous that people have to go through the nonsense. Maybe it isn't worth it. I don't know anymore..... I got no warning, just a ban notice when i tried to logon.....
  6. I reckon I pssed one of them off. I tried to tell them it was their loss if they banned me... I will email the admin over there when I get home. I am at work right now....
  7. 4.840" O.D. And don't cut the timing tabs off. You can turn the center hub up to the rivits, and the resulting O.D. is 2.800".
  8. After a lengthy discussion with the admin. of Bluetraxx, and some other folk, I just rried to login to Bluetraxx and I get We had a nice civil convo, me and B370 with the man over there, trying to resolve some of the issues between here and there. I was under the impression that we were off to a good start here, and now I am banned. WTF??? Oh well I guess. Any replies in this thread that are derogatory towards Bluetraxx will NOT be tolerated. It's time to cleann up he bull shit fellas, call it quits, and be men (and women for those that apply) about this. I will get to the bottom of it somehow....
  9. Anything new on this Otis?? Still haven't gotten anything.......
  10. Thanks from Boon too!!!!! Got my hookup yesterday!!!
  11. Indeed. My R-4 has a few mods to it. 13 vane pump, .500" Boost valve, B&M strip shift kit, New 2nd gear apply servo, (larger than corvette size that everyone uses) 2500 stall lockup convertor, 29 element sprague, 5 pinion in and out planetaries, biggest tranny cooler B&M makes. Gotta keep an R4 cool. I am a little perterbed because my rig WILL NOT shift untill it hits 3500 in any gear. And after everything warms up, I get no 3-4 shift. I dfon't know what's up yet.... I just got it together Monday night.... Or was it Tuesday.... I think Tuesday.. Anyways, the truck avenger is a good carb. And should be PLENTY for what you want to run. And like mentioned, if you can't find a vortech head, Don't use your stockers unless you prt them and completely rebuild them. And at the price your gonna shell out, you could have some brand new pre-assembled heads that will smoke your stockers... What cam you gonna use? I am currently running a Holley 600 vacuum secondary. I have a 750 Holley on the bench, and an Edelbrock 600 as well. Actualy, I think the Edelbrock is like a 580 or something like that? I don't quite remember. The Holley 600 is brand new. That's why it's on there. I don't want ANY problems on the way to Coalfest. We'll see how it runs this weekend..... My tranny is thie shit though. I love it. Once I get the bugs worked ot, it will be sweet...
  12. NICE!!!! And the addiction may be harder to get over than you think..... Have fun!!
  13. If you blow a hole, it didn;'t happen from a lean condition. Now, here is the deal with porting. As the piston travels up, it is trying to compress the air/fuel mix. Now, with the ports raised, it has less travel when it is completely sealed from the ports. This will lower your static compression #'s. BUT, it will not change your compression ratio. So, on a guage, it will appear as though you have lost compression. So, droppping dome size gets your guage to read back up there, but if you had stock porting, with the same dome size, (19cc) your guage would read through the roof!!!!!!!!! Just knowing that there was a hole in the piston, tells me detonation.......
  14. I'm not too sure of those folks over there.....
  15. The #'s yamahammer posted is what I was thinking around.. I have helped build a couple. lots of "relieving" (ie. grinding) on the block at the oil pan gasket area to clear the rods. Strokers in a Small block are an EXCELLENT truck motor. And I don't know about the nitrous. I would run that on a stock stroke 350 before I would run it in a stroker...... strokers don't rev like a stock stroke...... The vortech heads as mentioned are a good bang for your dollar, but intake choices, or rather lack thereof is what turns me away. I have a pair of Bowtie heads, swirl ported that will outflow ANY vortech heads I have seen. And I can run ALOT more intakes. The choices are endless. I think you would have been better off to get ya an older set of heads, and port them, and stick a set of valves in there.... But, a stock pair of vortechs would be cheaper. I am fairly certain you can get an intake for either a carb, or throttle body injection that you already have... i just dropped another small block in my S-10. This one is a lot less powerful as the other one that was in there.. Lower compression, and a milder cam. Oh well. Fuel mileage is good. I have a 700 R-4, that I wouldn't trade for the world...... OD and it burns the 32-11.5 SX swampers into second!!!!!! I have to launch it 4WD!! Anyways, you should be happy with the stroker. Especially coming from a tired 350. What kind of cam are you throwing in there??

    Dammit!

The whole blade. Didn't break off or anything...... The stick was still in the dudes hands.... Still was afterwards too. I saw it, but it was soo fast and too late... And the coal dust is what I'm worried about.....
  17. The wheel is already balanced. Which means the material has already been removed where it needed to be removed from. When spinning something in a lathe, you aren't removing unequal amounts from areas of the flywheel. You remove it off the circumference of the wheel. It doesn't change a damn thing balance wise. I have had numerous flywheels come in that don't have balance holes. Depends on the wheel. Some are balanced good enough right off the assembly line. Some aren't..... Do you rebalance your tires on your car every 5 thousand miles when some rubber gets taken off??? Same type of thing....
  18. Which side of the engine? stator side, or clutch side? Andx the location of the hole would be good to know. if it is detonation, there will be a hole in the middle of the piston. A hole 98% of the time indicates detonation. If you were lean, it would 98% of the time melt the piston near the exhaust port, and smear it all down the side of the cylinder..... Either way, it sucks. Now, with blowing debris in the crankcase, you may have had some shit in the lower bearings.... This would be bad. Flushing it out, I would use about 5 gallons of diesel or kerosene, or whatever. And still, I wouldn't even bother. Iw ould split the cases. It's not worth trashing a crank. You need to blow it out. Anyways, a lean condition on one cylinder can provoke an already present detonation problem to rear up it's ugly head in a premature fashion. What kind of fuel where you running? What elevation? If it is the stator side cylinder, it could be a crank seal or base gasket. Or an intake boot. On the right side, it can't be the crank seal, because you would be sucking oil out of the tranny..... Only place for air is the base and the intake boot... You pickup coil should be gapped at .020". (pronounced and read "twenty thousandths) If your spark isn't adequate, you could have detonated. If the timing was a little goofy, it could have detonated. If you are at or near sea level with 19cc domes, you may need higher octane fuel. This would be a detonation prone situation.....
  19. Nope, you don't lose balance. The material is being taken off the outside diameter. Being that it is already balanced, you don't have to balance it again. It's hard to explain, but it isn't a problem. Many many flywheels have gone through my lathe, and not a one has been complained about. I am sure BD will have the same thing to say.

    Dammit!

Wel, just got back from the hospital. I was playing hockey this evening, and some cracka was clearin the puck, and the tip of his stick fired off into my left eye. Not after adding insult to injury and busting up my nose pretty good on the way through. It was neat though. They have this nifty glue shit instead of stitches. I think the doc was a little leary about sewing my eyelid back on and getting needles near my eye... Or rather what was left of it. This is just fuckin great. Almost a week before coalfest, and I got stitches all in my nose, and my friggin eye is glued together.... I'm going either way. f*ck it...
  21. This may have to be an option for me as well. I don't know.... We have a machine to finish up at work, and I have to rpogram it. Going to be a nightmare. Oh well. If it ain't done, I'm thinking I'm not going to give a shit.... You know what, f*ck it. I'm sticking to plan A and coming up either Thurs. night, or Fri. morning..........
  22. If you have a knowledge in pneumatics, and access to materials, you can make a damn nice air shifter. With little to no maintenance.... A cylinder with a rod wiper, (not to be taken the wrong way..) and make sure it is sealed up. Then, get yourself a 9 oz. CO2 bottle. That will run you ALOT of shifts. A soleoid, a battery, with the proper quick disconnect terminals, and you're all set. I can bring a set of good connectors for you if you want Nyuk, if you're going to make coalfest. The air cylinders and what not, well, that is application specific.... I had an air shifter on one of my street bikes.... Worked like a champ..... Rain, dust, all the elements.. Never bothered it.... And as for the battery situation, as long as your not running a PVL style ignnition, why don't you charge the battery off the bike's stator????
  23. I have no lid as well. I run an outerware though. And the weather people can't predict the weather past 6 hours. They are friggin morons..... I'm goin either way. I hope others do as well. I got 2 10x10 ez-up's to keep the rain off ya while drinkin a beer if it does rain.... I hope to be able to do some riding in the mix azs well. Although, if it does rain, the family(s) may not have as much fun..... I am still busy trying to get my bike back together. Pipes are still hangin in my garage, and I don't even have the bike home yet..... Gotta change the head. Re-jet. Tune. All the good stuff... On top of "playing" with my new PC!!!! Still give mad props to you Walter!!!! Every time I hop on it, I am all
  24. I think we're plannin a trip in late June..... I don't remember the date....
  25. I am thinking you should spare the firewood, as there should be plenty of deforestration to be had. Instead, Water would be another viable option. On another note, I just got back from a shakedown run in the small block blazer. Runs SWEET!!!!! So, hopefully that will be one bug out of my hair. (tow vehicle). Now I can get onto other things that are more important. Like the shee!!!!
