What's the problem Rodney? House business? What is it gonna take to get ya there?
-
Don't forget about the front sprocket. The front is more likely to skip than the rear.... Also, sand kind of sounds and funny when you take off with paddles. (kind of like the chain is skipping)

My bike did that EXACT same thing. I thought jetting, (there was some serious weather discrepencies) but it turned out to be a loose wire on the primary side of the coil. Check them out. They are known to come loose, and it will do just what you are describing.....

One year, we spent the better part of 5 hours in the parking lot of Home Depot in Michigan making spark arrestors. Upon trying to enter Silver lake, the DNR pulled us even after they rodded the silencers. (3 bikes). I lyed my ass off, and still didn't get in. It will ruin your weekend if you don't have a spark arestor and you try to get in and they don't let you. Pony up and buy some forest service approved spark arrestor....... And make sure you re-pack your silencers. They check sound too.....

An NGK "R" style plug has a built in resistor that blocks interference from backfeeding into the CDI. Your banshee comes stock with "loaded" caps, which means that it has resistors built into the cap itself. But, if you change caps, you need to run "R" style plugs. If you run "R" style plugs with stock caps, you will not have a problem.....

And what part of Swamper SSR, Swamper TSL radial or TSL SX was unclear? I have 2 sets of SX swampers right now, one pair has 45,000 on them, and the other pair has over 50K. How do you beat that? Awesome tread, traction, and mileage....

those pieces are cheap. I bought all new when I re-did my motor the last time.....

Preventative Measures Before Going To The Dunes
boonman replied to sredish's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Simple green is the shit!!! And I usually bolt the paddles on, grease everything up, clean it up, and go ride..... -
Who said I was white????

What threaded rod do you speak of? The center adjustment? The thing with the hex on it,(that goes into the pressure plate) and the nut on the outside? Or the transmission shaft that the center hub goes on?

I think you should get the yellow power bands. They are a little tighter than the stock blue and should give you some serious power benefits.... Either that, or clean the carb(s). Check the compression. New plugs?
-
Precisely why it wouldn't find it's way into my PC...... Someone messing with my "business" isn't very pleasing on the mind...... Jethro, I would think it would be cheaper and safer to get another copy of the program....
-
Just a friendly tip Denny. Build your own harness. I cut mine all apart. You don't use half the crap that's on it. You need a few wires for lights, kill switch, coil and CDI. It's not much....... You can do it. It would be cheap, and you would eliminate alot of problems!!!!

About 5mm........And yours will be going back today Sredish!!

Kick Starter Gear Getting Stuck On Clutch?
boonman replied to excess's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
The clutch basket ring gear doesn't mesh directly with the kickstarter. Otherwise, you would kick it over forward... (like a Honda) Instead, there is an idler gear, which is in constant mesh with the basket gear. The kick starter gear than moves in and out and meshes with this gear only when you kick it over... if that gear's bushing is worn out, or the spring is weak, or the mechanism is dirty, you will have problems.... -
Y'all are killing me......

There is no reason to not lighten the flywheel no matter your weight..... I'm tppin' the scales at 230, I have lightend my flywheel ,along with several others.... Not one complaint, and I love mine. WOuldn't be without it.......
-
I would go with a set of SSR radials. Superb mileage and excellent traction. Unless you run ALOT of sand, those TRX/us STS tires are garbage. They handle like crap on the road, and ain't worth a shit off road EXCEPT for sand. If I lived near the dunes, I would have a set in the garage..... Now, if you run off road quite a bit, and don't mind some noise, than get the Swamper TSL-SX tires. About as good a mileage as an SSR, but you save about $60 or so..... If you can, find a local place that can get you the tires. I am guessing you have already done that. BUT, a simple phone book search won't lead you into that. Most places don't advertise for swamper, although they can usually still get them.......

Who S Had Their Flywheel Lightened?
boonman replied to grounded's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Off the outside diameter...... NOT the face.... -
The point system is that different tickets carry a weighted penalty. In NYS, I htink it is down to 11 points in an 18 month period and you get your liscense pulled. Then, there is speeding, which if you are high enough over, your liscense can be pulled on the spot.....
-
Hey peeps. I need the phone # for Val-Du Lakes. Anyone gots?????
-
Not really.... Most people have fun when I drive, but sometimes it can be a scary occurrence. Right now, I have 2 points on my liscense. In NYS, we have what is called a record of convictions. It comes wiith your liscense. Each offense you get, gets on the record of convictions. Well, at one time, I had 4 of them. I was smart, and lost my liscense 4 times before I got one I liked, and eventually kept. So, each liscense they sent me, I got me a new conviction stub. I went into court, and was bouncing these all over....... They only keep it on your record for 18 months, or is it 24?? I dunno. Not over 24. Either way, I played the game perfectly. BEat the system. Your only allowed to go to court ordered driving school once every 18 months. I went once a month for 6 months....... And time and time again after that........ I have a problem with driving. I drive my own speed limit. I don't like people in front of me, and I don't like people that drive slow. hen I go somewhere, it is my ow little "race". I see if I can beat my time the last trip I made there. I drive every morning at 70-80 MPH on my way to work. EVERY MORNING. I leave and come in an hour early to do Banshee stuff, and so I don't hit the morning traffic. When I come in to work, there is noone on the road. I get frustrated if someone's halting my flow.... My bike got me a few tickets untill I got sick of it. I would pull oer before they would even turn around. Then, I just decided I'll ride home at a slightly faster pace if they started chasing me. They couldn't catch me. Then, my buddies started dying, and I was prolly next. So, I got out of that... Man, now I'm off on a tangent. I have to go now, I have an agility test at 1:00 P.M. for the County sheriff's..... Maybe I'll make it in and be able to start writing tickets instead of receiving them...

Choke 1/2 Out Great.choke In Bad!
boonman replied to BansheeBrian's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Let it warm up, and then take it for a rip. Just because it smokes, doesn't mean shit..... Pull the carbs off, clean them out. I had a bad reed once, it was cracked. The bike would idle, but wouldn't run past half throttle. You may have an air leak. Try the carb cleaner trick. Fire it up, and spray all around the base gaskets and the carb intakes. if it revs up, you have an air leak. You also could have a clogged pilot. I run 27.5's, adn I have no problems.... As long as they're clean, they will flow enough fuel....
