Brandon's work is awesome. I been waiting to see the head work he does. I been "trying to save" to get this done to my shee. Damn 4poke is causing me a major delay. Nice work!!

UPDATE Yeah you guys were right, there was a recall on these clutch covers for the kfx400-LTZ400. I called the dealer and they told me the Magnesium clutch covers they had on these quads were reacting to the coolant they were using causing them to corrode like that. So im going to be taking my KFX to the dealer so they can flush out my oil, water, and replace the cover free of charge. Awesome for recalls huh, lol. Thanks for eveyones feedback, helped me out a lot !

What's up fellas, i know it's a 4 stroke but i need your feedback. I recently bought a KFX400 and i noticed this thing would drink up a lot of coolant so i knew then that was a red flag. Now i thought it may have been a water pump seal or something because when i changed the oil i knew that shit had mixed with water by looking at it. I knew it couldnt have been a head gasket or anything because this ran fine and no smoke of any kind through the exhaust. So here is the pic of what i found when i took her apart. I saw the hole where the water pump goes to was all corroded and my clutch cover had a hole to where the water was escaping into the crankcase. Now i have a simple question, could the jackass previous owner used battery acid as coolant causing this shit to corrode? lol. But really though i want to know if anyone has had this issue before to where this shit corroded. Any insight i would appreciate. Thank guys.

Well i want to say thanks for everyone's feedback i do appreciate it. I will be planning to add aftermarket reeds with the porting. I figured since it would add more flow it should have some significant increase in power. I knew i had to re jet but i always like to ask first before i blow my shit up. I was planning to get the VF3 but the funds for the shee had to go to the 4poker i got, damn thing is giving me all sorts of issues. Well thanks again for eveyones help/feedback and thanks SloRyder for the pics. I will post back with the results

X2 could not have said it any better.

Just a simple question for you guys who have done this. I been reading up on it but would like to get your guy's opinions. SLORYDER explained on how it's done, my question is how much of a difference will it be towards stock and will it require rejetting to compensate for the increased air flow??
-
Really depends on how enclosed the airbox would be or how much airflow is effected by the airbox. You will have a richer jetting due to the decrease of airflow to the filters. You might have to change to a one size leaner jets. Changing jets only takes a few minutes per carb.

x2 everyone is focusing on the wrong issue. okay he forgot to place anit seiz a big fu***** deal we all do it. I bet someone on here just saw this thread and then they did not even know they had to use anti seize. The focus is their customer service, I wouldnt agree more their customer service does suck. People only say they had good expeirience about customer service when they did not have a negative thing to say. But like in my situation I called them about a kit with missing parts and again they gave me the cold shoulder. Alf knows everything there is about customer satisfaction. They treat their customers with complaints and or concerns they give you a big fuck you in the end
-
Ahhh so that's how it's done.

First of don't let these issues here discourage you. When i first got my shee there was many things wrong with it due to careless previous owner. To begin you made a excellent choice by choosing this site here. The best place to get info on anything that has to do with banshee's. Great site sponsors to help you out with parts and many knowledgeable peeps. That plug your talking about i think that may be your T.O.R.S Throttle over ride, some bull shit system yamaha put on banshees. There is a Topic on how to remove TORS. Using the search on this site it should help you out on the details on how to remove them. Next i would try to take out your carbs and clean them thoroughly making sure your floats are up to spec and other debris shit like that. The most important advice i ever got here on HQ was get your self a Clymers banshee manual for your bike that will become your best friend. Good luck and let us know if you need any help.

You should check on FAST Website he has them there, as far as i know he does sell gold HD springs for the clutch. The ones you have may be the heavy duty ones. Keep the gold ones and toss the stockers
-
I got my pancake bearing from ALF great price and good product hit em up.
-
The black one's are OEM that's what i had stock when i replaced them with the gold ones. With the gold one is the clutch a little stiffer to pull in?? usually the OEM ones are a little softer than any others out there.

new pipe seals and still spraying black
FrankieSquid replied to mofoka's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
I had that same annoying problem. Where it meets the cylinders i just cleaned them really well and replace the o-rings, placed new springs. As for where it connects to silencer i used a blue silicone hose and i have not had any issues of that black shit coming out. -
Damn that's hot, over here in AZ i have rode in 110 with no issues on my bike, just hot as fuck
-
X2 that o-ring leaked on me once. Make sure it's not cracked and make sure you put a little bit of grease on there to help the install easier. The water pump is on that side too so you might want to check the gasket on the water pump/water pump seal.
-
X2 I learned that from my last shee i had. Gave me headaches for days, threw a stock OEM back in and WAH LA
-
X2 Check your squish first. If you dont know how there is a few vids on you tube on how to do it. You should check with one of the site sponsors. I know that Mull Engineering Does it pretty cheap and they re chamber it.
