  1. You need to address the heat problem. Have you cleaned the carbs lately? What jets do you have in it? Are both mians the same? Crazier things have happened. Check that the slide cap gasket is good.
  2. Not being a smart a$$ , but looking at it will tell you nothing unless it's an obvious tear (unlikely). Leakdown test pressureizes crankcase , if it holds 6lbs for 6 minutes your good. Replacement of seal requires splitting cases. One seal on each end of crank, pretty much run of the mill oil seal. Crank seals go for about $20 pair, complete kits go for $30+ have kicker, shift ,sprocket shaft. BHQ thanks you for the compliment.
  3. Why would you want to look like a craptor?
  4. YFZ lowers are replacable but not uppers
  5. Did you clean and sync carbs?
  6. If it still doesn't run right I would suggest a leak-down test. The crank seals prevent air from being drawn in on stator side and oil on clutch side. They also ensure the air/fuel mix will be pushed into cylinder on down stroke of piston. Ther is no volume of oil in crankcase. BTW, Welcome to BHQ !! Also check your plugs, also could be some residual coolant in crankcase that might take time to burn off.
  7. I wouldn't use anything coarser than a scotch brite pad.
  8. Half way down this page there is a post with 23 pages, tried to link but failed
  9. Half way down this page there is a post with 23 pages, tried to link but failed
  10. Seems to me if you were really concerned about rotational mass you would just pop for a PVL ign.
  11. Do a little search ,most will advise AGAINST single carbs , you can't make as much power with one huge carb as opposed to two small er carbs.
  12. Check that nothing built a nest in your pipes when you had them off. Pick-coil gap .016 - .018 ? Are plugs oiled up from assembly oil? Not trying to be smart a$$, but you sure it's + 4 and not -4 ?
  13. Pilot jetsare small ,the numbers even smaller ,lol. If screw adjustment has no effect you have plugged pilot circuit. Clean carbs one at a time to not mix parts ,they are different. Is air cleaner clean? Also what pipes do you have?
  14. Cutaway faces air cleaner.
  15. Speed is only limited by cubic dollars. Timing ,air filter ,reeds would be an economical start. JMO , your results may vary. BTW , welcome to BHQ !!
  16. X-2 on repacking , extended run at WOT would heat up the collected oil and cause it to vaporize and be emitted as excess smoke. If it doesn't work ,post back.
  17. Didn't see addy at first . What have you tested and how? what mods does it have?
  18. http://www.mawebcenters.com/parmacompany/arenagroomer.html ,http://www.tractorsupply.com/agriculture-farming-ranching/3-point-equipment/3-point-landscaping-utility-equipment/drag-harrow-6-ft-x-8-ft--2128642 . Could use landscape rake with chain-link fence drag behind or I-beam/channel beam w/ chain-link drag. Hope this helps.
  19. On the Japanese models that's where the snout for the electric starter goes. Because they don't have enough beef in their ass to kick it over.
  20. Here at the horse farm we use a pulverizer and chain drag for the arenas , 3-4 in of sand on lime stone. I saw something simular to the do-all on the link except only 6-8 ft wide , 3 point tractor hitch . Might visit a couple local horse farms with either indoor or outdoor arenas , they might have something they might rent you . If I see my boss today I'll ask if he knows what they are called ,I'll PM if I find anything out. Might try Googleing "equestrian arena" to find out what they're called. Hope this helps , I might try to get to those drags. BTW I'm only maintenance here.
  21. Get a spray can of carb clean ($5) ,don't need a O H kit to clean them ,it's a start. Check that tank is clean. Couple paper towels to clean air box. Figure out why it's so dirty.
  22. Did you re-jet after the porting? What are you at now?
  23. The Spelling Police and English Gestopo both have a warrant out for your keyboard !! What is a soark? Is your air cleaner clean? How do your plugs look? What size main jet did you have and did you go up or down? How much? Do some searching (search function) and reading on here. I haven't a clue what you are trying to explain about your reeds. Throwing random parts at it likely won't solve a thing unless it just happens to be something that was defective. JMHO , your results may vary.
  24. Has this been sitting for a long time? It currently has no spark? As luv2 said check everyting, switches , use search funtion also. I belive there is a sticky on the electrical testing. Clymers manual will help also. BTW, Welcome to BHQ !!
  25. Could possibly be blown gasket or stuck rings. Might only need new rings. Pistons and cylinders need to be measured for clearance , out of round , taper. That will determine what will need to be done.
