  1. Welcome to BHQ !! Start by cleaning the carbs one at a time. Record jetting size while you have them apart. Measure engine side of inside of carb to determine size. Make sure you have good hot spark and good plugs. Post what you find , so someone can help with float height. As for rebuild kit (if needed) check with site sponsers.
  2. I'm no Edison myself, but looking at the wire diagram both switches ( key & stop) only have two wires ,hot and ground, switch is "open" in the run posistion. By connecting red /black with black (ground) you have killed the power. try disconecting those wires.
  3. I have a Clymers and like it a lot. I think a factory manual is pretty pricey. Pull clutch cover and check it out , might also be something up with the water pump/pump drive gear. Have you checked trans oil since hot spell? If it looks like chocolate milk you have a bad water pump.
  4. Welcome to BHQ !! Sure it isn't House of Whores??
  5. X-2 on carb cleaning, comp test. Make sure tester is same length as spark plug, both plugs out ,fuel off, throttle wide open , kick till guage stops moving. Low comp can make it hard to start but that is NOT the only possibility.
  6. I believe that there are FI 2 stroke sleds , might check how theyre done.
  7. Get a Clymers manual and do it all yourself. Unless you're mechanical as a rubber spoon ,it's easy. It just means that other mods and updates will wait. Have to rely on Carma that he'll get his. You're not alone , might have been a little impatient in buying my son's 'shee, it has issues ,lol. After broken ball joint , mud hole flip ,COMPLETE teardown ,it's finally coming together.
  8. Excess assembly oil or crank seal on backwards? Has trans level dropped? Leakdown test?
  9. delete what?
  10. Welcome to BHQ !! Try cleaning carbs again, disasembleing them ONE at a time. Be sure to reattach choke cross over tube. Are you sure you got the float bowls on the correct carb? They are different !!
  11. Two other thoughts. Pick-up coil gap. Could cdi be getting ready to take a dump? Seeing you just had engine apart would presume poles on stator are clean, how about pick-up lugs on flywheel?
  12. The question IS , does MATT smell a RAT? Have a good dinner !!
  13. What we have here is a learning experience except those that know it all and those that think they do. Taking that big of a swing at jetting leads me to think there is something else going on. What did the plugs look like at 200 main and 600 main? Couldn't tell from vidieo , but almost looks like it's smoking more out of right, but leakdown seems to rule bad seal out. Check carb vent lines , small mud daubber wasps like small holes to lay an egg. Go back thru everything. What plugs? Check tank vent ,fuel flow . Is this a fresh build? No nests in pipes or silencers? Float level? What pipes do you have? Sorry this is a little disjointed , just things as I think of them. Let us know what you find , as at least I want to know/learn. Maybe plug boots?
  14. My son's 'shee had simular problem when he bought it . Ended up pulling flwheel with the proper pulller , cleaning poles on stator , inside of flywheel , nubs on outside (for pick-up) , and setting pick-up gap , .016-.018 or thickness of business card. Could also be plug boots , resistor inside goes bad . Also swap plug wires to see if problem switches also.
  15. Man you just opened the opinion floodgate !! Might search the flat track section for more user specific motor set-up. Each use benifits most with a proper set-up. Good luck with your racing !!
  16. Sometimes a member gets flamed with a match , sometimes a blow torch , lol . Just make sure you keep master full all the time while bleeding.
  17. Welcome to BHQ !! It's possible the shift mechinism may have jumped the shift star. This may be due to misadjustment, loose adjustment screw , or worn parts. Worst case might be bent shift fork. Best tool you can get for your 'Shee is a Clymers manual.
  18. If you ride in much water/mud I would take stator cover off , dry everything well, then re-seal cover , unless you want to wait for it to dry on the trail. JMHO, your results may vary.
  19. Are you talking about rebuilding the engine , or going through it and fixing things that are worn in the suspension , etc ? If it's the engine what makes you think it needs rebuilt ? New bore , pistons ,gaskets will run $500 give or take. BTW, welcome to BHQ !!
  20. Don't feel alone , everyone that comes on with a for sale on first post gets flamed. You're doing better than me , at least you got a picture up. You have thick skin and a level head. Welcome to BHQ !!
  21. Hell yes !! Make 1 out of two and part the rest.
  22. I'm not saying that's not a good price. You're here all of nine hours and know all about BHQ? Cavitus Emptor , or maybe I should quote P.T. Barnum.
  23. Sounds like a $350 bone job to me.
  24. Anyone know if the allen socket bolt that holds caliper together is available seperatly , or will I have to get another caliper or junk one for parts? The head is stripped out.
