  1. not worried too much about blowing it up, just what direction do I go when it does, or should I just do it now and forget about it? I am going to just ride it till it dies, then go stroker. have fun with what it has, when it dies, build it better, stronger, faster....
  2. so, I see when my shit blows, go 4 mil unless I have problems, leave it, but when it gives up the ghost, 4 mil is on the way. problem solved. thanx alot for the input.
  3. sweet, I heard they were so fast, they recalled all of them in 85 and 86, thats why they are so hard to find now. I seen one on ebay with the bidding up to $96,000 and had 3 days left almost as rare as this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-Limite...A317|240%3A1318 check out the price, and the reserve is still not met, and it has bids...
  4. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-BANS...634950QQptZATVs GSXR motor will fit in a banshee, but the cost seems to be phenomenal. I was thinking if I do ported cylinders and rebuild a top end, why not just go 4MM stroker? I guess at that point, I need to check into bigger carbs and jetting. what about my pipes? will my pro circuits still run right? I dont want to get too crazy on the setup, it is just now the speed bug has bit me I want more....
  5. I love my vapor. the only downside is the speed is picky, dont use the method they give you to tune it, I tuned mine via GPS as it was a consistant 5 MPH faster than acual, now it is almost dead nuts on. love the tach and temp. ride time is handy also, as is the odometer.
  6. or more specificly, if I was to do a 4 mil stroke, what is the bad things that are common? I heard it eats top ends and you have to rebuild them on a constant basis. do the pros out weigh the cons? is it really worth the extra 1G to go that route? or should I just do a GSXR 1000 motor swap and be done with it?
  7. you are correct, but mine is an old ass worn out one, and I still beat up on the newer ones. I just took the clutch out the other day, and it was the stock 20YO clutch, still had brittle O-rings in it and the basket was so loose on the drive gear it would move almost an inch in either direction, and still beat up on the 05's dunno, go figgure.
  8. mine is an old ass worn out 87, rode hard and put away wet all of its life stomps on my friends 2005 banshee time after time, even if we switch riders. so it is not rider error. and now I have mods, he is dog meat and he feels good taking out some 450R's
  9. you sure thats an 05? looks identical to my 91 600R
  10. mine does the same thing when riden slow. putting on trailer, putzing around parking lot, shit like that. WFO they are dry as a bone, they tend to be rich when idling or going slow.
  11. I want to change my name on here to "Ieat-raptor700R's" but I feel it would be impractical.
  12. HAHAHA, that scene just sounds so familiar.
  13. I also voted 170 because I am running 20cc domes and have 150psi and do not run straight race fuel. I run a 30% race fuel mix just for a precaution but have run pump 94 and had no issues.
  14. thats about $5700 in US currency, after tax, duties and transport, it will run around $6500, brand new... not bad
  15. I run stock carbs, there are tons of guys on here that run these carbs that can give you some pointers and recommendations on jet sizes. just make a post asking what to run in a flatslide. they can give you MM and jets if you get their attention.
  16. I did pods and pro circuit pipes and went from a 210 to a 320 other mods that I have dont require a jet change unless necessary.
  17. ok, maybe you do need a bit more than a mikuni jet can flow. at least round slide. try flat slides, they can flow more fuel with the same jet on a round slide. so a 300 jet will work like a 370 in a flat slide.
  18. I have pro circuit pipes and vforce 3 reeds. runs good. you can get arresting silencers for the circuits they are the 296 silencers. the nons are the 304 which is what I run. I am getting the 296 because they are cracking down more around here. before too long, i wont be able to get away with non arresting pipes.
  19. well first off, what are your mods? you can go up to about a 480 jet but not without doing other stuff to flow that kind of fuel. 380 is about the max you want without modding your system to handle that, you will run your bowls dry. you must have a shit load of stuff done to be needing more than 350 mains. I have all the bolt ons and run 320 and am doing great.
  20. not to hijack the post, I just dont want to start ANOTHER jet thread but... I am running amsoil dominator and I get the proverbial "ghost ring" and thought I was a lean, so I put in 340, but the 320 felt great, I was just thinking I was a bit lean and didnt want to chance it. guess I will plop my 320 back in.
  21. but you just did......
  22. well, after that shining review, I think I may have to buy some for my truck, fords need all the help they can get.
  23. kinda the junk I thought they were, thats why I asked. I am skeptical. I guess I could get them, the inline supercharger battery powered thingy and a turbonator.
  24. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mikuni-26-2...%3A1|240%3A1318 anyone try them, they work? I am game for just about anything unique
