  1. I apparently overpaid for my Banshee. Between the conversion to Canadian money and paying full MSRP, which I usually never do, I took a hit on this one. If anyone is interested, make me an offer. I have the Banshee at the dealership in storage. The transaction will be easy. I have made arrangements with them to sell it to the person of my choice. I won't give it away, but I am sure I threw money away on this one!
  2. I did a little research to be sure. At present time, 2009, the only 2-stroke motocross bike available in the USA is the YZ 250/125. There are small 2-stroke engine bikes like the 80/100s, but that's because the law doesn't affect them like the bigger engines. I don't know if the manufacturers are caving in, or if the law is stopping them. I can say there is only one Japanese manufacturer left selling them here. A sign of the future.
  3. Certain 2-strokes are still being sold here as long as they meet our strict EPA guidelines. The Banshee complied until 2007, but not anymore. '06 is the last year it was sold here. GasGas and other trials bikes with 2-stroke engines have been able to comply and are still being sold here. The motocross bikes by Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki are all 4-stroke here now. They supposedly weren't "clean" enough. Chainsaws, blowers, rc cars etc. are still OK because of their engine size, at least for now.
  4. The bad thing is, when I bought my Banshee, the conversion rate American to Canadian was equal. Now, I hear American is worth more again. I don't know what to do with it. I go out to Glamis now and then. Maybe I'll just keep it for that, or stick to my plan of preserving it. The real reason I bought the quad is because in late 1996, Honda offered the 1987 ATC250R in Canada, but then decided not to let anyone have them. I could have gotten my hands on one of them and would love to have it today. My mistake. This 2008 Banshee reminded me of those days and I bought it spontaneously. Now, I don't really want it so much. I'll see. I'll either dump it, or keep it.
  5. I am just wondering, are the 2 Banshees for $6500 new or used?
  6. Check out Yamaha's web page at http://www.yamaha-motor.ca/products/products.php?model=2328
  7. I understand there are going to be skeptics. Even I look at my story and it seems shadier than a big oak tree. The thing is, if someone really wants the quad, it exists, and we can manage terms that are comfortable for both of us. I have nothing to hide. The stock photo was easier than driving to Canada to take a "real" picture, which doesn't prove anything other than someone has a picture of a quad. It is brand new and looks exactly as the stock picture depicts.
  8. I bought this Banshee about 18 months ago, planning to keep it in my house as a collectors item. 2006 was the last year the Banshee was available in the USA, but Canada offered the quad for 2007 and 2008. I have the 2008 brand new in the crate in Canada. I have changed my mind and am willing to sell this rare find. If you are serious about purchasing this Banshee, please contact me by email. If I feel you are serious, I will give you my phone number. SiO2 Dune King. Motophyllic@gmail.com
