  1. yea, but 1 gallong will give me my 3 changes. I dont ride every weekend so 1 gallon will last me most of the season. ride about 2 weekends a month for 4-5 months, weather permitting. not as pricey as you think and definatly not as costly as changing out shit that breaks because of dirty oil.
  2. interesting, so you just drain your clutch oil, and put in some ATF type F? thats it..? I like that idea, I change my clutch oil about every third time of riding, yamalube gets expensive.
  3. yea, their plates are dumb, but flint just plain sux...... as a matter of fact, most of this state sux anymore. used to be so nice, now it is nothing but a money pit. always taking money out of your pocket for some stupid reason
  4. their license plates are stupid OKLAHOMA IS OK
  5. those are pretty slick. I think I am going to buy some, says he has several hundred ready to be shipped. I am getting some for the banshee, another set will do my lawn mower and tractor. if I stacked two in sequence, I bet they will work on my neon. it needs all the help it can get.....I can think of a hundred uses for it.... dry the dishes on the countertop one over the cat box lid as an exhaust fan couple in the bathroom to keep the mirror from fogging up. the list goes on and on....
  6. this is the best answer so far.... direct, to the point.... you can tell I have only had this bike since last October cant ya...I know jack shit about how to make them "RUN"
  7. I dont want to de-tune it.....I just want a more "user friendly" powerband. I dont want a 4 stroke, everyone has them, I want to be different. I guess if I really want to be different then get a quadzilla....but you cant find shit for parts for them if you break them.....I will break something, I always do. there have been lots of good points for both sides of the carb issue. I can see why it can become a topic of heated debate. when it comes to single carbs, some of you swear by them, some of you swear at them..... looks like I should just leave it stock, put on some pod filters and change my burnt out silencers and be happy....

  9. not so much all the extra power I am looking for but want the best powerband I can get over the curve. I am not concerned with top end, trails you dont get that fast any how, I like to be able to make power below 4000 R because as of right now, if I dont keep the revs above that, it is sluggish to move, once it hits 4K, takes right off and pulls great to about 8K. I would like the power around 3-7K I never hit top gear in the trails, mostly 3rd, some 4th. and that is hauling, well, for me it is hauling anyways.
  10. so it sounds like I should go with a single carb and find some different pipes for lower RPM... kind of the opposite direction I was taking with this but at least it solves this dilemma.
  11. now I know what to try in my laundry. if it does that do aluminum, imagine what it can do to a ketchup stain....
  12. ok, 1 more input for the single carb setup. I am not into top end....just in the occasional spat with the DS. so it is sounding like I should hit the single carb and FMF pipe setup. anyone with any input before I go to the "dark side"?
  13. bump for any final input before I decide to buy or not to buy the single carb setup......
  14. no, the comment dont suck, but it is true. the carb and pipes are from same bike, hopefully, they would have been matched to begin with. but I cannot say for sure, neither can he, he was not the builder. if I did pipes alone, I should not mismatch anything, being that would be the only mod there is, pipes and pod filters on stock carbs. once I start swapping carbs and doing funky things, then I will get into trouble if things are not done right. again, not going all out, just pipes and pods.....or pipes and 2-1 with pod. thats it. I need to race me a bike with pipes and pods with mine to see if I am keeping up as it is. I can hang right with the DS 650 but he gets me out of the hole by about 1 1/2 length. after that, I hang, cant pull one way or the other.... outside of dink'n round on the trails, thats all the racing I do
  15. but are a good older type? would they be good for my stock bike? I know just about anything is better than the stock pipes but I dont want to put 3 different sets of pipes on before I find some I like. I cant afford new, I have to go with someone selling a reasonably priced used set with silencers. and would these be good with the stock carbs, or the 2-1 all input is welcome.
  16. I kind of figured I would get the same reply, but it never hurts to ask for a fresh response, even if it is the same reply... as for the pipes, I am not sure, I am buying them from another forum member who is selling them. dont have them in my possession yet. he is selling the pipes and 2-1 carb setup, if that helps. this is the pipe here. hope it helps.
  17. I am thinking about doing the 2-1 carb setup. I been using the search and been finding that there are mixed thoughts about them (it) I would like to get some input on this so I can decide within the next couple of days to purchase a 2-1 setup or stick with the stock dual carbs. what is everyone's experience with this and is it worth it. form what I read in the past posts, stick with duals. but I will list below what I am doing with the bike.... 90% trails dual pod filters (or single carb with one pod) FMF golds stock outside of that (87 year) 1200' elevation 95% of the time, other times around 800' (one side of the state to the other) I am not sure of the front gear, I think it was a 14T if the duals are fine for my needs, I will just stick with them. I am not into drags, dunes much or racing (outside of passing my friends DS650 which I have not done yet) thanx in advance for any input/advice/constructive criticism.
  18. to make a profit off the states because we dont have them here, but they are sold in several other countries as current model.
  19. excellent, sounds like I will be on the way to getting it all set up for alot of DS 650 stomping riding this summer.
  20. so far, my machine is bone stock 87. I am going to be doing some pro circuit pipes and k&n open dual filters. thats it. what baseline jetting is applicable? from what I been reading, it sounds like a 300 and a 25 but am not sure. want to get it right so I can go form there without making things go boom my riding temp is going to be around 50-80, but I would say mainly above 60...mostly trails, some sand. I dont like sand, makes the motor overheat. I been reading alot of jetting options on here but just wanted to get some actual input before I take the plunge, not much room for error.
  21. I just zip stripped my vapor to the cross bar. no issues. dont look as fancy as the others but it serves its purpose. I also zip stripped the GPS to the other side. and that was the garmin factory kit for the unit.
