  3. if your engine is tip top and no other problems, your jetting is WAY off considering, again you have NO issues with the engine, your jetting I would start at a 145 main and a 42 pilot, being I have way more going than you with smaller carbs and I am only running 160 main and 45 pilot. as the others said, test the engine first to be sure your only hosed in your jetting pressure and leak down test it
  4. that was one side only, and crank seal better be good, just got motor back from jeff at fast.....that was first run after break in, 1.5 tanks of gas at recommended jetting. I had to re gap plugs to .020 because stock was cuttin out at high RPM, this chop was taken before re gap I now have plugs at .021 and no more high end cut out.....I still need to work on low end bog....mid is nasty but high and low need tweeking still..... I am just looking to get my baseline right before correcting others, one at a time. I would rather be a bit rich than lean while tuning
  5. I ran the bike around for 1.5 tanks of gas, changed to new plugs and then made one run wide open, turned around and wide open back, shut down and pulled 93 octane shell gas and amsoil dominator oil 40:1 right side (clutch) hot side
  6. them were brand new plugs, one run up to 6th gear, and one run back to 6th gear, WFO throttle all the way. pulled, put in box and brought home total time on that plug, 1.5 min MAX
  7. 4mil, dune port, 33pwk, 1200 elevation, 80 degrees jetting 160main 45 pilot, CEL needle center clip

  9. need to find me a stator and flywheel for my 2002 stock engine. I dont need plates, covers or aftermarket high output, I just need something to use until my 4 mil gets in so I can get my old engine running... please include shipping to 48433, new they are $200 for the set....and they are not ricky stator... also will need the key for FW...
  10. check that stock starter plunger. bet its pulling gas in while its running, swap carbs around, bet it changes sides....

  12. yes, correct, which is why I went with 300, since it will be 30 degrees warmer when I ride...it gets cold at night but not that bad, 55 or so,but daytime is between 60 and 80, warmer sometimes, but about that range....

  14. update, free rev off idle bog cured.... installed 27.5 and airscrews are out 1 turn,all in was ok, but had to idle up, 1.5 out has slight bog on free rev..1 turn out works good... installed 300 mains, have not tried it yet, raining here in michigan so all I do is spin in the yard so no way to test yet. mods installed... VF3 KN pods +4 timing no tors billet magnum clutch basket and fast clutch are my mains too small? 300 and 27.5 seems to run good but wont know for certain until I am able to get out and hammer on it, check some plugs and so on....I may go back up to 320 but I ride in 60+ weather
  15. sounds like I will give it a shot then on the jets that everyone recommended. I know my jetting is off, but on my old setup, it was 25 pilot and 320 mains, ran good, this bike dont like it, exact setup. I will go with 27.5 pilots and 300 mains, with pods, see what happens....

I dis-comboobulated the tors before I did anything. it would stall when you let off clutch slow, but ran great when you revved it up and rode it hard, that ended up being a bad clutch I just added things from my old bike to this one, and it dont like it... I moved it all over from old bike that ran good until it lost a seal in the engine and smoked because it was pulling trans oil into the cylinders.... putting it all back to normal tomarrow, see what happens then. just discouraging. do all that and then it dont work correctly.
  17. reason I went from 25 to 30, in jetting faq, for the pipes, pods and reeds, recommends, 1 each, so I thought 2 total was good. the farther I turn in the air screws, better it runs which says I need bigger pilots. but still on the rev and trying to pull, it hits a wall, dont pull anymore, just stops, no pull I can hit 3rd gear in my yard when I used to only get to top of first, while riding a wheelie across the yard. I lost power somewhere, it must be a jetting issue. or I just have junk carbs and my bike dont like VF3?
  18. first thing I checked, runs good, so tube is in place, and slides have the taper in the front, it just has an issue when you rev it sitting...(bogs then catches up) and dont make any power....when in gear and rolling.... if I mess with the air screws the sitting bog gets better, but I went from 25 to 30 pilots and it is still the same... could the reeds cause this issue? stock reeds and stock carbs, fine..I change both, then I wind up with these problems... thats why I will just put it back and see what happens.
  19. ok, issue... bike is mainly stock, outside of timing and pro circuit pipes..... stock reeds and TORS topped carbs, stock air box, KN filter cut lid...bike would pull hard, pull wheels off ground easy and no issues I changed carbs to stocks with TORS removed, VF3 reeds, pod filters and rejetted 320 main, 25 pilots. now, it has major bog off idle and no matter what will not pull wheels off ground now, at all so I rejetted to 30 pilots, 350 mains...same thing, no change? I am sorta lost here, ran perfect until I changed carbs and reeds. I know pods wont make that much difference but I did jet up for them. an input or ideas. I am going to put it back to previous setup and go one at a time. prior jetting was 290 mains and 25 pilot, ran perfect

  22. every one says stay away from ricky stator, are thier flywheels any good?
  23. yes, put on right, not my first rodeo.... I had to clean the threads and such because they were quit rusty... it was a good puller from FAST...I will get another from him, as well as a flywheel. since I replacing it, I am going new, unless there is a GOOD quality one someone has they want to part with.?
