  1. 20 kicks sound like you need a new top end. How many hours on the top end?
  2. Chain?...What chain? I have a belt-drive on mine.
  3. x2, choke tube not connected.
  4. My fault, I meant silicone. Use the high-temp rubber hoses and hose clamps at the mid pipes as suggested. That's exactly what I use.
  5. Is the choke tube connected between the two carbs? Sounds as if you have an airleak.
  6. Use high-temp rtv glue. Put a nice layer on both flanges but don't get carried away, install the pipes, and let it cure for 24 hrs.
  7. I had it wrong, he told me the stock carbs on that port job only like a half turn out on the air screws. Try that and see what happens. Also, try switching the plug wires as suggested.
  8. I had the same problem with coolant leaking onto the right pipe after the bike had warmed up. I too thought it was a leak. I found out the fluid was coming from the overflow tube that's zip tied to the frame behind the radiator. I stopped refilling my coolant tank after that and haven't had that problem anymore. No overheating either
  9. Did you turn the air screws only one turn out? I had the same port on stock carbs from Kevin before. Both sides bog or just the left? Try giving the carbs a good cleaning. May have a clogged pilot on the left side.
  10. Did you sync the carbs?
  11. Problem fixed. Thanks guys for all the suggestions.
  12. Compression is good.
  13. May have developed an air leak. Just a thought
  14. Can you take pics of the reed cage and post them?
  15. Its a 421 cub. I'm in MS and at sea level. I have been running the 175 the whole time and never had a problem with a bog until now. A bog when I'm not in the powerband and a sputtered rev up top on that one side.
  16. How did you come to this conclusion of not enough fuel?
  17. My thoughts exactly. Did you perform a leakdown test?
  18. Could be a number of things. What is your jetting?
  19. It stayed with the same cylinder. When I'm not in powerband and throttle it, it bogs which causes me to have to downshift. I replaced the reed petals about three months ago.
  20. Would the reeds cause a problem like this?
  21. What carbs, needles and jets are you running?
  22. No, you need to go down and do a plug chop. Why didn't you try the 270 mains?
  23. Info. on the motor is needed.
  24. Wow, never seen anything like that before!
  25. I was running T5s and pod filters with a 280 main at sea level. I'm thinking you may be a little rich.
