I 100% agree with the 'show quality' you and I were expecting. I have a kit sitting in the bottom drawer of my tool box 'show'ing itself to the inside of its cardboard box. I am sure someday i will use it. :ermm:

Got this from here: Keihin Jetting, it helped me in the past. 1/4 to 3/4 throttle jet needle: the jet needle is comprised of five major elements. 1. straight diameter section: in keihin carbs either the last two digit or the last letter denote the diameter of the needle. The higher the last two numbers the leaner the needle the lower the letter the richer the needle. By going to a thinner needle there is a larger area between the jet needle and needle jet supplying a richer mixture. 2. length of the straight section: this determines at which point the needle taper will start relative to the clip position. If you have to run your clip in the highest position a needle with a longer straight section will need to be used. 3. needle clip position: this works in conjunction with the length of the straight section. If the engine is too rich above a quarter throttle raising the needle clip (#1 in illus.) will lean the mixture. 4. needle taper: a larger taper will result in a leaner mixture in the first half of the taper and a richer mixture in the last half of the needle. For example, a 1.34 taper will be richer in the first half and leaner in the second half of the taper than a 1.45 taper needle. 5. number of tapers: the needle can have one or more tapers. The number of tapers is not usually changed.

HOW DO I TAKE A CHAIN LINK OUT

tubafoor... :yelrotflmao: Cannot go wrong with grinders and hammers. -
Properly tighten the axle nuts and then inspect the rotor/hub again. If you are still experiencing axial or radial play with the axle, then you may have an issue with the axle carrier bearings. The splines on the hub and axle may be worn as well.

Does the wood come with the pipes?

Yes, you are correct, it is a free-floating caliper. A function caliper will apply equal pressure on both pads. Wasn't thinking about that when I was mentioning the shim clearance... :wallbash:
-
Do you know if the shim is installed behind the inside brake pad? If not, the pad may have too much clearance causing the outside pad to do most of the work and wear out faster.
-
The caliper piston could be hanging up somewhere, not retracting completely, warped disc, bent bracket. I would suspect a stuck piston if no visual damage is obvious... Did you remove the pads and inspect anything yet? Maybe a foreign object has lodged itself behind the pad.

which pistons to go with?
BellicoseBanshee replied to '04limited's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I would go with the Wiseco Pro-Lite pistons. THIS has some interesting information and not very long (5 pages). -

I remembered that Mullet Man wrote the post, and combining a member's name with a topic makes searching much easier. -
banshee yfz 450 conversion
BellicoseBanshee replied to banchilla's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Yes it is possible, I believe this is a good install thread. There is a member who sells kits, but I am not sure who and whether they are any good as I have not followed it closely. YFZ450 a-arm install  -
Start at the top and work your way down. Check the vent in the fuel cap for obstructions and check the petcock to see if gas flows freely. if you can eliminate the fuel tank assembly, you know to start looking at the carbs.

The oil holes are for cylinders with an exhaust bridge, like an ATC/TRX250R... The exhasut bridge must be properly relieved, and the oil holes are necessary to lubricate the bridge, it is a definite hot spot. The newer Wiseco pistons for the Rs come with two larger sized holes now instead of two smaller holes. Many people will drill a third hole for added protection. :geek:

Well, I hate to say it, but you just might be a tool, :woot: ! It has been there as long as I can remember...

Just click 'More Options' below the white 'All Forums' box. That will take you to the search you are seeking.

No Heel Guards, Who Doesn't Run Em
BellicoseBanshee replied to 350BANSHEE350's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I am waiting for quads to come equipped with a factory bubble, because we wouldn't want anyone to poke an eye out... I took mine off immediately. I don't worry about running over my leg as much as I worried about my ass hanging over a spinning studded tire, and that was back in the day when my ATV was missing a wheel... And everyone said we were going to kill ourselves on those, too. -
It is definately worth the extra time and money to make the trip to Amargosa or Dumont. Amargosa is about an hour and fifteen minutes up highway US-95 N and Dumont is about an hour and a half up NV-160 towards Pahrump, then turn left onto CA-127. I have heard good things about ATV Dune 'n Desert (www.atvdunendesert.com). The bikes they rent out seem half decent and do not appear to be ragged out too much. They are out at Amargosa Valley and may make trips to Dumont (not sure though). Last I have seen, those guys had paddles on their bikes, but who knows... It will be much warmer at the end of the month in Vegas, but not too hot to ride all day! I might be out there myself, who knows. Best of luck with the wedding and spend lots of money!

How many forum members does it take to change a light bulb? 1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed 14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently 7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs 1 to move it to the Lighting section 2 to argue then move it to the Electricals section 7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs 5 to flame the spell checkers 3 to correct spelling/grammar flames 6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid 2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp" 15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct 19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum 11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum 36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty 7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs 4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's 3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group 13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too" 5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy 4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?" 13 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs" 1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again. 2 to say that they have already saw this post and it's "old stupid *****". BTW... I found this on another forum I enjoy, so please do not credit me with writing this. -
Has anybody noticed any adverse affects on the front suspension, or does it function the same as when the wheel is not offset?
-
I don't know about anyone else, but I think those gauges look hot! I would definately use those if I were driving a truck. I always hated driving cars with digital speedometers, etc. I much prefer the look of the round needle gauges or at least something with a needle.

Three blonde friends died together in a car wreck. They found themselves standing in front of the pearly gates with St. Peter. He told them that before they could enter heaven, they had to tell him what Easter was about. The first blonde said, "Easter is a big holiday where we give thanks, have a big feast and eat turkey." "Nooooo," said St. Peter. "You don't get in." The second blonde said, "Easter is the holiday that we celebrate Jesus' being born of the virgin and give gifts to each other." "Nooooo," said St. Peter. "You don't get in, either." The third blonde said, "Well, I know what Easter is all about. Easter is a Christian holiday which coincides with the Jewish Passover. After Jesus celebrated Passover with His disciples, He was betrayed by Judas and turned over to the Romans. They crucified Him on a cross. After He died, they buried him in a tomb and put a huge boulder in front of it." "Very good!" said St. Peter. The blonde continued. "Now, every year, the Jews roll the stone away and Jesus comes out. If He sees his shadow, we have 6 more weeks of basketball." St. Peter fainted!

Turning the air screw clockwise reduces the amount of air and turning the air screw counter-clockwise increases the amount of air in the pilot system. Warm up your engine, then adjust the idle slightly higher than normal. Turn the airscrews in until they seat and then back them 1/4 turn and let the engine stabilize. Keep turning the airscrews out a 1/4 turn at a time, allowing the engine time to stabilize between changes, until the engine reaches its highest RPM. The air screws should be between 1 and 2-2.5 turns out. If the highest RPM is less than 1 turn (lean), install a larger pilot jet. If the highest RPM is more than 2-2.5 turns out (rich), install a smaller pilot.

Set your floats to 21mm (manual says 20-22mm) and check the float needles as mentioned above. And I agree, If you buy new stuff for one carburetor, just do it to both carburetors at the same time.
-
Make sure that you keep the reservoir full as you bleed the system.
