  1. 32:1 OR 40:1 is fine. Too much oil is not your problem. You don't solve a "lean" issue by changing your oil ratio, it is a fuel/air problem. If it isn't too much trouble, how are you doing your plug chops? Once you've nailed that, try leaning your clip position, this is probably causing your bog.
  2. You may need to lean out your needle one clip position, the performance reeds will richen up the midrange.
  3. My friend has a sled with a triple in it. He says he has to jet the last cylinder to get coolant fatter or it will seize, again! I could see this throwing people for a loop....
  4. ^^^^^^^^X2^^^^^^ Put some serious thought into these... they don't look like much but they are amazing and light as fuck!!!!!
  5. Get a Clymer's Manual for it. This will help guide you through all the things we tell you to do! Best 20 you ever spent ( aside from a boost bottle! j/k)
  6. I do not think the carbs are interchangeable but now that you've got them in their respective locations you may try to swap the plug wires to opposite cylinders and see if that does anything.
  7. Can't remember what I paid for my lsr, but I remember buying it from Yamaha of Troy, they had everyone else beat.
  8. Bump for an insane deal!! Paid more for my bone-stock, very tired 88. Let me know if you are going to part it!!
  9. Sounds like too much fuel. Too much air sounds like WHAAAAAAAA Where is your clip?
  10. Time for a carb cleaning, maybe a little debris in the needle/seat area. Check your float height as long as they're apart. Might need new needle/seat.
  11. I see a compression test in your future.......... You do a plug chop to dial in those mains? Sounds a little lean
  12. turn the gas off, hold the throttle wide open, and kick it till the gauge stops climbing. Might be 10-20 kicks.
  13. It would help if you knew if it was a drain hose or an overflow hose, lol. Open one of the drains, does it start leaking from another hose or the same hose? Eureka!!! Hope this is helpful. I have had my floats stick before and I never had to rebuild the needle/seats. Just took a carb cleaning and resetting of the float height. They do require rebuilding sometimes, but not always.
  14. According to FMF, there is no loss of power. I would like to see dyno results saying as much, though!
  15. If you have a coolhead you have replaceable domes within....they should be stamped with a number, 18cc or 19cc, up to 22cc(stock compression). I run 20cc on pump gas @900ft, +4 timing no problems. You can buy new domes or give a holler on here when you find out size/condition of yours and someone may trade you.
  16. Just check on it and the reserve was not met, even though the bids were up to $5200 at auction close. He says the Buy It Now was $3k in the Q&A at the bottom of the page. What the fuck was this guys plan?
  17. He's talking about the nut that holds the hub on.
  18. One thing about being in the snowbelt is the feeling of that first ride of the year, always feels like twice as much bike as you remembered!! Extra mods help, though.
  19. It is possible you hit a rock or something and dislodged the hitch pin. Nothing wrong with using a cotter pin, though.
  20. So....... let's give him a pile of money for the stuff he doesn't have? I'm not following........
  21. Reeds, TORS, type of carb if not stock
  22. Diesel, eh? Is there anyway to expose him on Ebay before someone is shorted a few grand? I see it looks like his one transaction was for a town car for like $5K to someone with zero transactions. Thats a little fishy, too.
  23. I don't have a link for you but either get a clymers or go to a site that sells Yamaha OEM stuff, they will have exploded views of the carb with labels on everything!
  24. That's what happens when they break!! Consider yourself lucky for not fucking yourself up, you need a new one! Check for movement in the other three, tie rods while your at it.
  25. I actually forgot that I DON'T know how to adjust my dual rates. Good question. TTT
