nothing personal against you but it isnt albas fault that youre bankaccount is low. honestly you shouldnt even be considering atv parts if youre account is low and you had bills to pay. bills should aways come before anything extra, and its also a good idea to keep atleast 5-10G's in the bank just for emergencys or situations like this. if you had 5 grand in the bank you wouldnt have lost $120 and this alba thing wouldnt of been a problem because you could afford to wait on alba to get their paperwork done. banks love it when people run their accounts low. $120 is overdraft fees in a few days is more than they would make in interest off youre account in a decade.

a buddy of mine has a banshee similar to mine but hes got fmf sst's and 19cc domes instead of my 22cc domes. (hes got to run race gas). hes also got vforce 3 reeds and i only have stock reeds. we were doing some comparison testing a while ago by swapping bikes, etc. if we both run in 5th gear at a low rpm and we both pin the throttle at the same time my bike will creep ahead his at low rpm. once our pipes hit then mine pulls away even quicker than at low rpm. and to top it off he weighs about 50lbs less than me. thats why i said i think the toomey t5 has every bit as much low and midrange power as an fmf pipe. and we all know its got more top end. i dont think theres any reason to buy fmf over toomey except the price.

why dont you price out what a new or used rotor costs? to get them turned usually goes from between 5 and 15 dollars.

make sure youre compression tester is good. try it on youre car or something with a known good engine. i have seen countless compression testers that were bad and only went up to a certain psi, usually 100 or 110 etc.

ive ran against fmf bikes and i believe the t5 has every bit of low end the fmf pipes have and even more perhaps. its got a bunch more top end as well.

to this day i havent ever seen a dissatisfied customer of rb porting.

hey if you bring 2 bikes ill bring my big lock and chain so you dont have to leave them free to anyone walking by. chase i dont need tyres, i need wheels! please bring 2 pair of youre nicest rear banshee wheels for me. thanks. i noticed on raptorforum.com they are having a meet this weekend at ocala. i invited them to camp out with us at big scrub. -
yes it does. back when i had a headgasket leak i would lose a little coolant each day from the radiator. the overflow tank's coolant level kept going lower and lower so the radiator would remain full. the banshee overflow tank works just like a cars overflow tank. when the coolant gets hot it expands and some goes into the tank. later when the motor cools off the liquid contracts and gets sucked up back into the radiator insuring the radiator remains 100% full. not only that, but running without an overflow tank means you will awalys have some air in the very top of the radiator. air accelerates the degredation of coolant and helps to form deposits in the cooling system. you guys can certainly run without the overflor tanks. no one disputes that. but personally i dont mind the extra 4 lbs that the tank full of water weighs and the 1 extra hose it requires. im not in any competitive racing and 4 lbs isnt gonna kill me.

there is no riding after sundown in ocala. that leaves quite a few hours for everyone to be up with nothing to do before bed. that is why i bring playstaion and tv. (also dvd's). if anyone has some good dvd's, espically ones like huevos or crusty demons of dirt, being them! (also bring xbox too) -

yeah im going. chase dont worry about tires or anything else for youre ride. nobody expects youre banshee to keep up with us. youre bike is setup for drag racing, and on tarmac at that. i think we all understand and appreciate that. just bring a few spare plugs and do something about youre rear shock. its got way too low of a spring rate. see if you can put a stock swinger on for the weekend which would help to keep the rear end up. or grab a heavy duty rear spring from cascade. youre rear shock is really hurting you on the trails. dont forget to bring me 2 pairs of banshee rear wheels. i want to buy them off ya. also would like to buy a right side upper a arm if you have one in good condition. give me a call so we can work out the details like purchase price, etc. i would also like to buy some stickers from ya! other than that bring youre tv and playstation. dont forget to buy atv offroad fury 4. ill bring my playstation and tv and a network cable so we can play against each other usiung our own tv's and the network cable. that goes for anyone else too. bring youre tv's and playstations. we can all play against each other if i bring my network router and generator! -
i really need to get around to adding a how-to guide for banshee radiator fans. they wont fit behind the radiator. the steering stem is in the way and there isnt enough clearence for even tiny computer fans. one of these days ill get around to it. 375 you comming to ocala!

21lbs for 7 grand isnt worth it. top drag racers dont even use ti for banshee frames.
-
at the last meetup in ocala some neighbor guys brought beer with them on a 6 pack rack and drank while riding through the state trails. none had a problem with it and no one got hurt.

my 2 fav brands are oakley and smith.

i dont have a problem with hunting and if someone wants to hunt by all means i wont stop them or anything. ive even tried it before. ive been on hunting trips in georgia for deer. but i guess i dont see the point. i would rather see the animals alive in the wilderness through binoculars then see them dead on someones wall. i guess the "thrill of the hunt" is what allures alot of people into hunting, but to be honest you get the exact same felling chasing pussy at a bar. i can see where hunting would be usefull if a species of animal were overpopulating its territory and running out of food supply, or pests / non native species which damage the enviroment. by all means kill em all. ive even been known to pop a few domestic strays which go through the neighborhood trash. but something like a deer pig bird bear etc... they look better in real life than mounted on a wall i think.

if you dont clear coat it you will be polishing it very often to keep the rust off. but you said you are already going to do that. but i just hate to see ya go through so much trouble. try a shot of clear. in the worst case you can awalys strip the clear off and just go back to polishing it.

unless maybe you running paddles or something 1st gear is basically useless on a banshee. i dont even use 1st except when im putting through the campgrounds or loading the banshee on my trailer. otherwise i just start out in second everywhere. well that was back when i had a 14t up front. now that ive got a 15t 1st is still nearly useless but ive got to slip the clutch a little more than id like to start out in 2nd so i use 1st as a crutch to get to 2nd. and all i really do is trail ride. a bigger front sprocket means longer gears so i dont need to shift so much. i can keep it in the right rpm's and just keep pulling when other people are shifting like formula 1 cars. another thing to mension is that the average trail banshee just spins through the first few gears anyways. adding taller gearing will help reduce the spinning. this little neighbor kid and i raced around some trails. he had a 400ex and some really short gearing. all he did was shift constantly. meanwhile i stayed in 3rd most of the time and occasionally dropped down to 2nd. i had asked him about the gearing and he mentioned he had taller sprockets at home. i told him to put them on and well race again another day. when that day came he was alot faster around the trails. i still beat him good though but he really was alot quicker.

rb porting will do it for 175. factor in a pair of pistons and some new gaskets and youre not much above 250. dollar for dollar porting is the best mod you can do to a banshee as far as engine mods are concerned.
-
in south florida theres some tight trails and a normal banshee will overheat on them. you just cant go fast in 1st gear. and these are definitly 1st gear trails. ive rigged up 4 radiator fans (small ones) running on dc. instead of a tempature switch i just have the fans wired to come on with my low beans (which are disconnected). and at night i turn my high beans on and the fans are not on the high bean circut. i think the whole thing cost me about $20 including the dc conversion.

where to get allen head replacment bolts for the fenders?
csrmel replied to csrmel's topic in Banshee Appearance
i went to home depot and lowes. both places had very anemic metric sections. i dont understand that because half of america is metric now, so what the hell... besides inches and feet suck. america should just get it over with and go fully metric like the rest of the world. anyways i didnt find anything i liked. they had some allen cap bolts but they would have required seperate washers. and none of it was stainless, just plain old steel which rusts. tusk has case bolts for under $4 a set. but i havent found a cheap set of fender bolts yet anywhere that i liked. none come with the radiator shroud bolts. maybe im just getting to be a crotchety old fart. haha jeez i hope not.
