the overflow does indeed send water back up to the radiator. my level in the overflow dropped about an ounce a day when my headgasket was blown. the radiator remained nearly full.

looks like george bush.

to be honest with you ive seen enough internet dyno charts that i would recomend the stock pipes. everything else seems to just raise the rpm at which the pipe works.

(NEW DATES) FLORIDA! lake delancey/rodman DEC 8-9-10 2006
csrmel replied to csrmel's topic in Riding and Events Forum
you must of seen me. i had the banshee flipped on its side, the side cover off the engine. parts laying around on the ground etc. at the time, i didnt realise it was just stator bolts. i thought i holed a piston or snagged a ring. i was one of the few who actually brought a helmet. thanks for the tool offer. maybe next time! -
if it just has a straight pipe on it now and you upgrade to a real expansion chamber thn it would be a big difference.

(NEW DATES) FLORIDA! lake delancey/rodman DEC 8-9-10 2006
csrmel replied to csrmel's topic in Riding and Events Forum
i was at the cr motorsports drag and i locked up my engine tighter than a 12 year old record.. i thought i blew it up so i was all depressed and not going online for a week and a half. when got around to tearing it down i found the stator bolts were lose and they wedged my flywheel tight. about 20 minutes later i had it all fixed up and shee runs good now. got 147lbs of compression on each cylinder, and thats with 22cc domes! i celebrated NOt blowing my motor by putting on a plus 2 inch steering stem. that really fits my big ass alot better. id really like to go to delancy or rodman. big scrub was cool and all but its just woops everywhere. banshees are not designed for whoops. thats 4 stroke territory. but i digress, ill be a follower of the crowd and go whereever you guys want to go. if everyone wants big scrub then big scrub it is. lets get the location pinned down so we dont have any mix ups. dont forget to rejet youre bikes. its getting cold out there. -
funny how the stock pipes have more low end than most of the aftermarkets.

maybe different companys have different guidelines then.

Is there a way to loosen up the thumb throttle?
csrmel replied to rynb15's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
take off the throttle cable and lube it up really good while working the cable in and out. next lube the handlebar thumb assembly and make sure that moves with no resistance. finally i have had good luck cutting 3 coils off my stock springs in the carbs. makes the thumb throttle about as touch as a raptors (which isnt tough at all). -
the piston top looks partly melted. have you been detonating for a while?

ive beaten saab 900 se turbo, subaru outback, porsche carrera, bmw 325, gmc sonoma, honda civic, geo metro, some kind of flat bed truck too. most automobiles can be beat if they dont have some kind of secret weapon like a 200 hp shot of nitrous. i wouldnt want to race a viper though.

chrome wears out just as quick as cast iron. look at airplane engines. due to safety standards, you cant have oversize pistons. imagine an airplane engine getting bores second over and some mechanic accidently installing stock bore pistons and cylinders. could be disaster, so there are no oversizes allowed. there can only be 1 size, so they chrome and bore the cylinders whenever they get worn a little bit and inatall new stock size pistons. but yeah, even in airplanes chrome wears out just like iron does.

Whats the side affects of NOT having your bike jetted?
csrmel replied to Ron Burgandy's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
running rish is not good. you get excessive carbon buildup everywhere espically the exhaust. -
i cut 3 turns off each spring on the stock carbs. made a huge difference.

What type of plugs do you guys run?
csrmel replied to 2001JLShee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
yeah, under no circumstances should you foul a plug if youre jetting is setup correctly. ive been running the same set of plugs (br8es) that came with my bike from the factory. my banshee even sees kiddy duty, meaning i take my nephiews and neices on nice and very slow trail rides. under these circumstances my banshee probably only gets to 3000 rpm's and never into the powerband. ive never fouled these plugs. im no expert on plugs however the projector plugs aim to move the spark deeper inside the combustion chamber so that the spark is more centralised. very basically this gives you a bit more timing advance. ive heard in cars its good for half a degree or so. downside is they can cause preignition easier than a conventional plug because of the projected tip. if you want that half a degree, slot youre timing plate, or buy an adjustable one. i dont think its worth the risk running projector plugs on a 2 stroke. but like i said im no expert. -
sorry guys. i just bought a bmw boxer cup motorcycle in minnesota. gotta leave monday night to go get it.

i quit reading them once most of the magizines started focusing on 4 strokes. also too much advertising in atv mags. way too much.

i was thinking the same thing about africa. theres more lights on in my home state of florida than there is in all of africa.
-
where did you guys get fibers that cheap? hell the cheapest i can find is about 70.
-
do the timing plate first. run it around for a day and then the head. this way you can see what each part gives you.
-
ok so i grab some fzr1000 discs, what about cushons and plates. do the fzr discs work with stock plates and cushons or whats the deal with setting it up?

my mom called every few hours to pester me to go out and vote. i finally went like 2 hours ago. my order of preference was to vote in people who are atheist first, the issues second, and if i didnt know their religion or the issues at hand, (like with judges) i just picked non foreign names. i try to stick to this list http://www.godlessamericans.org/ under "who we are" but not many were up for me to vote on.

chase you never called me back. i know its kind of a long haul for you so i wanted to invite you over to my dads house on saturday to break the drive up a bit. if you want to come over saturday and hang out or we can do some 4 wheeling or whatever. theres some nice trails in lake placid. you can stay overnight, i got enough beds and stuff. then sunday its a 20 minute drive to cr motorsports. this way you dont have to drive all the way there on sunday, spend a day racing and then drive all the way home. you could break up the driving in half for each day. and this offer ghoes out to dave and shane too. you guys want to come down satufday and hang out thats cool. i got enough beds for everyone.
