just as a reference point im running +4.5 timing and 22cc domes at sea level. ive got a fresh motor and 149psi of compression. ive ran 98 octane before and not had any detonation, although on a 2 stroke i dont know if i could hear it. but my plugs had no aluminum specs and my motor still runs... although just to be safe i awalys try to run 93 and fresh 93 at that (i dont let fuel sit around longer than 1 month).

i had a banshee stole from me years ago. it makes me sick to my stomach every time i hear that someone elses banshee got stolen. i hope you get it back and that the thieves get a large ammount of punishment. welcome to the former owners of stolen banshees club. not a fun club to belong too.

yes, look in newspapers for USED electric stove. you might even find one for free when people upgrade their kitchens and throw away the old stove. thats how i got mine, i found it. it needed a new element but that was $20 at home depot. kitchen stove is good enough and big enough to do wheels, suspension parts, handlebars, etc. you might even fit a stock swingarm in one. about the only thing you couldnt do is an entire frame.

imo, eastwood has a better gun and kit and its only $100.

pvc all the way! whatever you do dont use pvc right out of the compressor or tank. use metal for the first few feet because that air is ususlly really hot.

like chase said it depends. i have a 10 gallon tank and a 600ftlb impact wrench. (among other air tools). 10 gallons is just enough to do 12 lugnuts before i run out of pressure and have to wait for the tank to recharge. i like smaller portable compressors and tanks because you can BRING them with you when you go racing or camping or whatever. yes with a smaller compressor you will have to wait more often for it to recharge, and you cant do any sandblasting, but its worth the mobility to me.

heres the deal. you need an original ps2 with the network adaptor, or the slimline ps2 that comes with the adaptor built in. go out and buy/win the game atf offroad fury 4. connect the playstation to youre internet via a 10/100 cable or through 56K. (this is free) create an online profile (and please try to use youre forum name, but add the extension "_bhq" to the end. example, my atv offroad fury name is csrmel_bhq. this makes it easy to identify fellow bhq members. go to the community section of the game and add me and anyone else to youre buddy list. in the community section of the game is also a chat and forum. i made a post there check it out. once you ready to race, message someone from youre buddy list and get it on! as an option grab a ps2 communication headset so you can talk and listen to other members while we race each other. it really adds another level to online game play. if you need help just ask.

if you just need a bit more spring grab one out of an early model banshee. they had stiffer rear springs according to eibach website.

maybe you compression reader is low, or mine is high. next time we meet up ill bring mine.

goodluck. i had a 110 and i could never get it running. there isnt much info on the internet for that thing. certainly there isnt a pdf manual. i could never get mine running, i ended up parting it out on ebay. made almost a grand.

where to get allen head replacment bolts for the fenders?
csrmel replied to csrmel's topic in Banshee Appearance
damn, theres a 244 piece and 456 piece bolt kit for banshee on ebay. THERES NOT EVEN 244 BOLTS AND NUTS ON THE WHOLE BANSHEE IS THERE? i didnt find a fender kit. all i found were the clutch and stator bolts, which i already have. and some USED rusted out fender bolts that were stock phillips size. i guess ill piece out a kit from the hardware store. -
the hardware store hoses are not rated for the tempatures that a cooling system sees. additionally they are not rated for the high pressure that a cooling system sees. thats double negative for hardware store hose. whats that old saying, if somethings worth doing then its worth doing right. if you going to do the clear route, do it right and get the rocky mountain or alba kit. (but alba sucks so get the rocky mountain kit )

damn.

new is nice. i bought mine new because the banshees around this area used were only 1000 less than a new one, so i figure why not. this way as bigred said i have everything factory fresh and its all mine and no one eleses grubby ugly hands have ever touched my motor.

theres not much point of a tach on a banshee. when you run it hard you just shift when the pull of the motor lessens. you cant really over rev the motor sence most pipes and porting act as rpm limiters.

How do you start a flooded banshee?
csrmel replied to 370ccblack&white's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
if you carbs are setup properly you shouldnt really be able to flood the motor unless you kick it a bunch of times with the choke on and the ignition off or something like that. -
enjoy the motor how it is now. afterall its a banshee and has plenty of power even before porting. once youre due for a rebuild, send the cylinders out to get ported. they will give you more power than all youre bolt ons put together.

vyut cascade says its only good for UP TO a 4 inch swinger?

ive seen people put home depot 99 cent elbows on them. the kind of metal plumbing elbows that have a 45 degree bend, not the 90 degree ones.

im tellin ya, grab fury 4, ive been playing online every chance i get. we could organise a meet once in a while and finally settle those fast vs passion arguements once and for all! haha but seriously, its great fun. my username on there is the same as my forum name. "csrmel" add me to youre buddy list when you giys get the game and well race the banshees. i made a custom track thats a flat track for high speed straights and big corners for speed and i upload it to the game for anyone to use. banshee isnt the best for supercross but it works good on flat track and hill climbing in the game.

unless i am missing something, the stock cable is also braided steel. so whats the deal?

people should really learn to work on their own bikes. im dyslexic and i can still wrench my own stuff. i just do things backwards sometimes. but my point is that if someone like me can do it then anyone can.
-
any 90-200 would be good. i would personally recomend something with a throttle limiter so you can limit the power untill the kid gets to be a good rider. i reciently got my 8 year old nephiew a rapror 80. it fits his body perfectly and he loves it.

who ever cut that thing took way too much off the outside of it. the holes that were drilled? have nothing to do with it. they just took too much off with a lathe. you lucky that thing didnt grenade and take a chunk out of youre calf.

the hf trailer is pretty good. ive read enough reviews of it from sportbike forums and stuff that i dont think its going to just crap out randomly. one guy hauls 2 sport bikes on his and he had over 20 thousand miles on the trailer!
