  1. So he took you, then you took him on the tires. :yelrotflmao:
  2. If my 450R ever blows, I'm gonna drop a Honda 330R 2 stroker in it.
  3. The Honda transmission lube in the reb bottle is really good too, I've also had good luck with Maxima MTL 80w. I like engine ice for the radiator, and Maxima castor 927 for the premix. JMO
  4. Put a pipe and cam on the Honda and it's a whole different story.
  5. :yelrotflmao: If you're not going to race competitively, I'd just get an axle, arms, and front shocks for now. The 450's are nice, but most good racers aren't riding them stock either. You'll dump a ton of money into any quad in this sport. JMO
  6. Glad the seatcover was what you wanted.
  7. That thing is coming along nicely, glad the seatcover worked out for you.
  8. You can cut the stock light plugs off your wiring harness and wire the high and low beam wires together(green and yellow) then wire them to the single bulb wire. There should also be a ground wire from the lights that wires to the ground from the harness(black). I'm assuming these are single beam lights is why you wire the yellow and green hi/low together. I'd change the bulbs to 35w unless you have an aftermarket stator too.
  9. There's been a few people complaining about crank failures from using Amsoil. I don't know from experience, but I also don't want to find out. I'll stick with 927, but I wouldn't mind trying the Mobil stuff. Where's the best place to buy it and does it mix with race gas?
  10. I don't like the fact that they put 20" and 18" tires on the ltr, it's good for mx but they probably sell more to average joe's than they do racers so a tire and sprocket change would be the first thing I would do. Then I'd get the cherry bomb and ditch the lid and baffle. I also think the ltr's have had alot of trouble out of the rear suspension and linkage breaking/cracking. I doubt the average rider would really abuse it enough to justify changing that stuff, though. I think you really can't go wrong with any of the 450's. The 400ex is a reliable quad, but is kind of obsolete compared to the newer motors. Let us know what he decides on.
  11. I'm pretty sure he speaks French if he is from Quebec. I would use fine grit sandpaper and then use a torch to get the shine back, just be careful not to hold it to close for to long.
  12. Do a search for "Racer TV", that's the name of the show they are on.
  13. I usually keep up with the GNCC races on SPEED and record them with my DVR. I like Borich personally. They don't have any GNCC events here, but they do have the first GNC MX race of the season here next week. It's about 10 minutes from where I work, so I'm planning on going so I can see the Kawasaki in action for the first time. I may try to make "The General" in Georgia if I can.
  14. That's what the hotstart lever on the bars is for, when you pull it in it leans out the mix in the carb so you can start it easier when it's hot. I also slowly push the kicker through one full rotation before I really kick it over so it's in the right part of it's stroke, otherwise it might kick back easy and that sucks to have to lever kickback on your shin or unsuspecting ankle especially if you don't have boots on. If you still have trouble getting it started, you probably needed to check the decompressor clearance (when it's out of whack it makes it almost impossible to start) and go ahead and check the valve clearance too to make sure they don't needed to be shimmed.
  15. The compression is right around 108-110psi I think, you'll have to take the tank off to get to the spark plug...if you already checked this thing out I'm sure you know now. :shoothead: ;
  16. Denzel is cool, I was always a fan of "Training Day".
  17. Stock chain length is 104 and I'd also change all sprockets and chain at the same time.
  18. Use soft scrub to get the stains out, then use several coats of mop n glo to bring the shine back...that stuff really works.
  19. I thought it sounded lean from the beginning, glad you figured it out. On my 2 into 1 I run a 48 pilot, 185 main, DEK needle third clip and 1 turn out on the air screw. Pulled it out of the garage today, shook it really good to mix the gas up and pulled the choke, 1 kick and boom it started. That's what I'm talking about, I'm proud to own a Banshee too bro.
  20. I've got the same one too.
  21. Man I love Grand Nationals, a guy up the road has two 87 models that need a little work but they're still an arm and a leg. By the way, turbos are really making a comeback. Several compact sports cars have them, as a matter of fact a friend has one of the new Subaru turbos and that is one bad mofo. A really light car with 300+ hp. I think Ford is supposed to release a new twin turbo motor for cars next year, not to mention the turbo diesel they're about to release really soon.
  22. I'd try the wheel cleaner, especially the kind auto detailers use called "wheelbrite" in the clear jugs. The acid actually works the best for the average joe, but if you let it sit on the aluminum for to long it will discolor some spots and you'd have to polish it out. A parts washer would be nice if you had access to one.
  23. I hate to sound like an ass, but you knew what this thread was about as soon as you read the title. If you don't like the topic you don't have to reply. Like bada450r said, it's an open forum.
  24. Do a search through members and look for "Braxton", he had one with a shot motor awhile back. I actually thought about trying to put a 250r motor in a 450r chassis, that would be killer and you can get a roller for around $1,000-1,500 if you buy it all separate on ebay. That's frame and stock suspension. A YFZ should be priced similar.
